Oh, that's why I saw NKOTB, too. B) Just because I was 13 and had no idea how to go about accomplishing that, and it did not happen, does not mean I'm FOS. :ninja:

So reading thread reminded me of more.
Elton John by “him”self

Billy Joel by himself

Billy and Elton together at Jankee Stadium.

Eric Clapton twice.

Had Clapton / SRV tickets August 1990 and was sick and my sister went with my GF at the time and Stevie died later that month. Never got to see SRV :(

Saw him at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival a few months before he died. He came out in an Indian War Chief head dress and played” Texas Flood”. Incredible show.

Wow! What fun! You all are out here really living life. It's like you all are Richie Rich! I don't think the average person has been able to see so many concerts.

ETA,

Google says people go to 2 to 5 concerts/year. So, it's really just me who didn't go out much. I just thought going to a concert was special and expensive.

In the 70's concerts cost about the same as an album, so it was easy to go.

Thank you!

I saw both on the same night when Thin Lizzy opened for Queen at The Forum in L.A. in 1977. The place was half filled during Thin Lizzy's set and I don't know if it was because those who came to see Queen didn't care about the opening act and were being fashionably late, or perhaps it was L.A. traffic which was bad even back then. In any event the sparse crowd was rather indifferent to Thin Lizzy (which I thought was great, whose first tune was The Boys Are Back in Town) with only just polite applause.

Never saw the cult, but would have loved to. Kid from my highschool was an amazing bass player. Was on bass player magazine when he was like 16 or 17. Anyway he was in the cult for several years. Also played with ozzy and Ace. He was in that Metallica movie, Some Kind Of Monster for a few seconds, he was one of the dudes who tried out when Jason quit. How name is Chris Wyes. he's also I pretty big session player

Ive seen The Cult five times. GNR opened for them in 88. The last show of that tour. They all got on stage and played two songs for the encore. Amazing show. Also, heard heard them playing when was by myself playing golf on the back nine at City Park, which wasn’t far for the VooDoo Festival. Good times, good times.

These make me jealous. I did see George, Bootsy, and the P-Funk all stars once and they were sooooo focking good. And I'm not a R&B/Funk fan typically.

I have irrational love for the first 3 bands on your list, and all you folks talking about how great the Cult were live have me rethinking some life decisions.

Someone mentioned Joan Jett. I would pay a lot to see her. Rock Goddess. She and Steppenwolf hooked me into loving rock n roll at a tender age. I am forever grateful.

Also, how the hell do you guys remember all these? I've seen a lot of shows, but mostly at clubs and have even remembered a few I've seen reading these lists that I'd all but forgotten about. Now that ticket stubs are no longer a thing, you have to buy merch to have a memento, and merch is just as outrageously priced as the tickets.

All of my ticket stubs are pre-2000's... The most recent one I MIGHT have is Fleetwood Mac, which I saw in San Diego in 2003, or maybe Prince from Vegas in 2007. And I haven't seen those stubs in at least 10 years.

I used to have one of those cork boards hanging on my wall with all my ticket stubs tacked to it in a collage. It was really cool but I took it apart to move over 20 years ago and never put it back up (cuz of my stupid ex!). I recently moved again but haven't come across the stub stash.

I had at least two hundred of them. I always kept them all. Had a big box with them, my shirts, posters, records, and all memorabilia from the eighties and nineties. I wanted to make a poster collage with them like this.

My mom threw the box away. She had dementia. Was devastated. Oh well. You roll, if you do you’re dead.🎶🤟☠️

Ouch. That sux. That photo is similar to what I had, but looks better because I have no artistic talent.
