This seems cut and dried, i cant imagine anyone on the fence between these two. Maybe add a comment "if you voted Vance, is there any Democrat that would give you pause for consideration? Or vice-versa with Newsom?

In past elections, Dems had options that were at least not 100% non-starters, not sure there is a serious (true) moderate candidate on that side worth of consideration.

Part of Newsome's platform will be to claim he has done the most for trans kids rights. The fact that this is such a large deal should raise red flags to potential Newsome voters.

Logically, one would think the normal % of kids born to the wrong gender would be a very small %. Yet the number spiked when it became such a hot button issue. It's not normal to believe you are the wrong gender.

Because the left lied and said trans kids were missing rights even though they have the same rights as any kid, the issue got bigger. Kids who would have never questioned their gender all of a sudden were confused or seeking attention.

To run a huge part of a political campaign on an issue that affects .001% of the population should disqualify him.

It would be like Vance running a large part of his campaign on kids who eat vanilla ice cream left handed but eat chocolate ice cream right handed needing equal rights.

It will be nice to (hopefully) have actual primaries where voters can decide the candidates. Things have been broken since 2016 when Dems stole the nomination from Bernie using "superdelegates".

That said, it's not certain those will be the two candidates by any stretch. Most of the assertions being made in here so far are one person's opinion being cast as "this is the way that it is!". No, it's not. My early favorite one is that it will be Newsom running on a trans platform

I would never vote for Newsome; I think he may literally be Satan's spawn.  No one from Team Bernie Free Stuff either, including AOC.

I'd look at Josh Shapiro, he seems somewhat moderate and reasonable.

Not surprised that we disagree, but I think Vance has a lot of charisma, more than Rubio, who just seems... forced somehow.  Vance could have destroyed Tampon Tim mumbling bumbling stumbling through the debate, but his role was to be the nice, sane one to offset Trump a bit, and he did it to perfection.  If Vance were unleashed in a debate, he would be a formidable opponent.

I voted for Desantis last time and still like him.  I wouldn't blame him if he stays in his current gig as King of Florida, tho.

No, he won't campaign on trans kids, because that's a loser nationally.  What he'll do is talk about the LGBTQ community as a whole and gaslight about the Republican stance.  That'll be enough to keep the suckers on board and keep independent's minds open.

If Vance is smart, he simply says, "What [insert communist candidate here], says about how we plan to address the LGBTQ community is pure lies and propaganda.  Our only stance there is that we feel children should not receive life altering and permanent change to their bodies.  Anything they want to do after that, is on them as adults."

That way, he forces the [insert communist candidate here], to only address transgender children.  That's the right play.  It keeps independents leaning right.

The biggest mistake the R's could make, and probably will, is to try to keep the Trump/MAGA coalition unchanged in 2028.  Like him or not, there is only one Trump.  Trump is MAGA, and MAGA is Trump.

I'll add that I would be hard pressed to vote from a Rep from the Tucker Qatarlson / Groyper block.
