Trump’s campaign message was that the government is terrible.

Then he becomes head of the government. The precipitous drop in the polls is exactly what one would expect to happen.

But if you want to dig deeper?

Trump’s majority among white people in 2024 stayed about the same as prior elections. But he got a huge increase in support from Latinos. In his first year, he has publicly been targeting Latinos with cruel and arbitrary arrests. Now he’s at 70% disapproval among Latinos. Honestly, this shouldn’t surprise anybody who is paying attention. He basically took 4 years of GOP gains among Latinos and torched them in less than a year.
