United States President Donald Trump and senior members of his administration have warned that the assault on Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro could be followed by similar actions against other Latin American countries, including Cuba, Mexico, and Colombia.

Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, Trump said the attack on Venezuela was a deliberate message to governments across the region.

Trump singled out Colombian President Gustavo Petro, accusing him of involvement in drug trafficking to the United States.

Something crazy about this whole oil thing is I’m not sure the US oil companies want this. It’s going to cause a glut on the market when we’re at near historic lows already, if we do ‘take the oil’, & they’re going to be on the hook for retrofitting all of VZ’s old equipment & infrastructure without ownership & they’ll likely just lose possession again one day.

I've been saying this all year.  You can't just flood the market with oil and expect the price to remain high.  Oil under $50 is not good for the US.
