Ellington's role going forward

Recommended Posts

So Ellington is going to be back next week, but now both Chris and David Johnson have emerged and earned carries. What kind of split do you see going forward? Does Ellington still get the majority of carries?

I'm trying to decide whether or not to trade him for someone who may have a bigger role...

It's another rb mess .

With that A-hole Arians you may as well try and forecast the weather. He's getting to be as bad as that high school-level coach Pettine. Good team, bad fantasy situation.

Ellington 40%, CJ1K 40%, DJ 20%?

Come on.

Ellington was the full starter at the beginning of the season. I could see this breakdown his first week back, but I would think Ellington will get at least 60% of the carries with CJ2k and DJ splitting the rest.

I think Ellington is a trade target. The Cards are the best team in the NFC right now and the offense is clicking. Id like to trade for him with the Johnson boys looking so good and the Rams up next, I just have no idea what to pitch to get him.

With the way CJ2K is running, i can't see how Ellington will get more than 10 carries a game. Looks like another RBBC with CJ2K getting the goalline carries.

There will be weeks where he gets 7 carries, CJ gets 6 and DJ gets a td. Avoiding all of these guys.

Yep, Full blown RBBC nightmare at point. All of us owning one of these guys are screwed at this point pending injuries. Had a chance to pick up CJ first week off the waivers and I was convinced David J was the one to own. So far looking like a poor choice, but just can't believe CJ can keep this up. I will be patient and hope the rookie eventually emerges.

too much is being made of CJ running so well...did you watch the game? He looked very average to me, the O -Line however was stellar. I think it will be at least 60-40 in Ellingtons favor. If he is healthy and Palmer stays healthy, He will be a solid RB 2 i think. I would be more worried about David Johnson, he has the talent to take over ellington's role, should the coaches think he is ready.

The coaches wont. I am probably going to be stuck holding Johnson, knowing he is the best rb on that team, but it will not matter as long as the Cards are winning. I honestly think if they werent winning Arians would turn to DJ for a spark. Its really odd that in blow outs he isnt taking the opportunity to get DJ more reps. He is taking the opposite approach most would in the situation. Next year however, DJ is going to be the new Matt Forte, only with more speed.

Of the three of the , I think Ellington is going to be the one on the outside looking in , unless there is a injury .
