Trump's saber rattling a little bit shamed nine EU countries to collectively cough up 40 people. Then again nobody in those 500 years have ever shown a lick if interest in invading it. Through the European colonialism era, two World Wars, the Cold War. Denmark has does fock all nothing to defend it and never needed to because nobody wants it. At any point in these last 500 years, sending in a third grade class armed with squirt guns could have swiped it out from under Denmark, but nobody has ever bothered.
