I saw some of that - embarrassing. Didn't like what I saw out of Biden and I don't like it from Trump. I root for my Presidents regardless of party affiliation.... but Trump makes it extra difficult. Having senior moments is one thing, but a bullying jackass to boot.?. Tough times for America and the world - with 3 long years to go.

How big a flop will the Melania movie be?
GobbleDog replied to FrancieFootball's topic in The Geek Club
Since I've never heard of it, I was tempted to vote won't make budget. But considering how easily entertained the idiot masses are by even the dumbest of crap ... I vote break even. -
Curt Cignetti called his shot. Dude is an absolute legend
GobbleDog replied to edjr's topic in The Geek Club
I knew Cignetti took the Indiana job only after being assured there would be "financial support", but had no idea they ended up with that much support. 12th ??? Why the hell didn't they have any 5 star recruits and only a handful of 4 star recruits with all that cash? Regardless, greatest sports story of my lifetime. Credit to Indiana for taking a chance on "old-man" Cignetti (who bet on himself taking crap jobs and working his way from the lowest depths of college football) and credit again to Indiana for giving him an insane contract back in October before he'd actually done anything worthy of that kind of money. What a story. And to beat scumbag Miami. Priceless. -
I'll be SHOCKED if anyone is stupid enough to give McDaniel an NFL head coaching gig ever again. Perhaps only Dolphin fans actually listened to his press conferences.... Youtube some - he sounds like a stoned idiot teenager. "Well, uh, ya know... um, we tried to, uh, ya know, move the ball, but umm...." That's not even an exaggeration. That's exactly how he speaks. A vape-smoking, capri-wearing, fruit loop of a head coach. No player respects that.

Over the weekend my Dolphins hired former Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley who's never been an NFL head coach before. His only stint as a head coach anywhere was four years at Boston College ('20 to '23).... where he finished with a conference record of 12-22. Dolphins owner Ross took over in '08 and has never hired a coach with NFL head coaching experience. Dave Wandstat in 2000 was the last coach with some experience... which was also the last time the Dolphins won a playoff game. The general consensus among Dolphin fans to the latest hire:

Trump cheered by CFP national championship game crowd during national anthem at Indiana-Miami clash
GobbleDog replied to League Champion's topic in The Geek Club
I wouldn't cheer him, but I sure as hell wouldn't boo my own President. That's classless. -
Inviting Putin to the board of peace ... incredible. Not to mention Belarus dictator Lukashenko. Shocking Kim Jong Un didn't get an invite. I saw a Ukraine broadcaster interview Gen. Ben Hodges today and he mentioned the board of peace offer and then asked Mr. Hodges ... "is this is a sick joke?" Funny moment, but sadly no joke.

I used to think the "Trump is losing his mind" stuff was just anti-Trumpers being spiteful. But I've slowly come around to believing there's some truth to it. The NUMEROUS incoherent speeches, ranting like a 2 yo throwing tantrums, etc. I'm sure he has moments of clarity like all nuts, but it's scary given the power (and long-term damage he can/has caused). I didn't vote for him and I don't like him, but he's still my President. Wish he'd become more of a do-nothing President like his predecessor (who clearly had even worse mental problems). Good lord, we have to stop electing these geezers.

Official Greenland Thread - The S&P 500 dropped over 2 percent due to Greenland concerns
GobbleDog replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
Retired General Ben Hodges has questioned whether senior military officers would even obey Trump's order to invade Greenland. Article 6 of the Constitution says any US treaty is officially US law. Thus ordering troops to break the NATO treaty would be illegal and an unlawful order. The military's sworn oath is their loyalty is to the US Constitution and not to any politician. -
Laundering Russian oil has been a problem, and the EU has had a difficult time stopping it (though they've tried). At the very least, it still prevents Russia from getting market prices and they still sell at a steep discount. It would all end tomorrow if the US would invoke secondary sanctions on any country (mainly Turkey, India, and China) from even buying Russian oil in the first place. Then it's game over. The Senate is about to pass the Sanctioning Russia Act of 2025 and put it on Trump's desk over the next few weeks. Whether Trump will actually sign it is questionable considering he's never needed a bill from Congress to do it. He could've invoked secondary sanctions the day he took office, yet he's been reluctant to punish Russia.

Temporary ceasefires and mediating minor disputes = "ending 8 wars" ??? Even Trump supporters don't buy that, but they sure as hell won't call him out on it.

Greenland push: Nations not entitled to territories ‘they cannot defend’

With Russian oil imports now down to 2% and declining... proclaiming "Europe is still buying Russian oil !!!" is meaningless and misleading.

Bills firing McDermott reminds me of Philly firing Andy Reid in 2012. Consistent playoff appearances - numerous conference title games... NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Worked out for the Eagles, but I think it's a mistake. Spoiled bastards. I'd kill for just one AFC conference game appearance. Go dolphins

Incredibly misleading. You forgot to mention: Gas exports from Russia to the EU shrunk from 45% in early 2022 to 13% today Oil imports from Russia to the EU shrunk from 27% in early 2022 to 2% today. All Russian coal exports have been totally banned. In early 2025, the EU agreed to phase out purchase of ALL Russian oil and gas by the end of 2027.
