Honestly PATSSOX - I don't think there are ANY grounds to say that the Patriots are better. Sure they looked better than the Colts for 55 minutes of that game...but as they say, the game is 60 minutes.

 

The Pats came in with a good gameplan, and executed it very well. They had a decent run game early, hit Moss a few times, and were able to do just enough to slow down Peyton. But look at the 2nd half adjustments - which lead to the Colts scoring 21 points, and the Pats scoring 10. And those 10 came off of drives that totaled what, 20 yards? (15 yards after Petyon's INT for the FG, and a TD after Welker's punt return inside the 10). So it's not like you guys completely dominated the entire game.

 

Brady is back, not to '07 #s, but he has his timing back, but team's are starting to realize if you put constant pressure on Brady, he's just another QB (as is just about any QB under pressure). The Patriots are a very good team, but have had some struggles finishing games for the past 2+ seasons. You fans should have a lot of optimism for this team, and can take a lot of positives from this game. But to say the way they played in the 1st half and at times in the 2nd half constitutes them as the best team, that's a little far-fetched.

 

Try GIVING some credit to other teams instead of finding ways to make your team seem better.

Im not trying to find ways to make the PATS seem better???? i watched the game and i think the Patriots are better than the Colts. That is my opinion of what i saw from that sunday night game. Peyton is a great QB and made another unreal comeback but as a team the Pats to me looked better.

 

The PATS should have had 48 points but they didnt Maroney fumble in endzone and Brady pick in endzone. I think the Patriots took the peddle of the metal in the second half and played too conservative.

 

Hopefully the PATS and Colts meet in the playoffs when it matters.

Well, in my face then. I give you props in that case. The U must have more pro players then any school in the nation.

 

In my teenage years 13-18 it was easy to get Pats tickets all the time and I was going to all those crappy games. I sat on those aluminum benches and I wasn't the only one. We were not a good team many seasons. Others we were ok. Others we were the laughingstock. Thus I take offense when you say we are fair weather fans.

 

You can say that about the Sox fans but not the Pats fans. We had the worst stadium, one of the worst teams, among the worst weather conditions, terrible traffic, drunk drive back from the games and all that risk, and we still kept going to the games.

 

Did we sell out? No. But we stayed loyal.

 

And yes there are more fair weather fans during the winning years, but that's the same for every team.

Yes. And if the Cards win they will be 7-3 as well. Nobody would expect them to consistently beat NO or MINN at this point though.

 

You can't go by head to head alone to judge a better team. Any NFL team not named the Browns can win any given Sunday. The Pats looked good for most of the game against the Colts, but still lost. If you lose and you have a worse record, you are not the better team. It's not rocket science.

 

Now, if you want to argue that the Pats match up particularly well with the Colts, that could be discussed. But to blanketly call them the best team in the AFC is a non-starter and not in any way supported by facts. Sorry.
