Kilmar Abrego Garcia Thread - Federal Judge Rules Garcia Must Be Released From Immigration Custody
HellToupee replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
Seems that white people are treated differently by Summit public schools in California . “You get presented with, on equal merits, like a white person or a black person or whatever. Yeah, we're going with the black person,” revealed Jonathan Ferrer, Director of Human Resources for Summit Public Schools, a charter network operating in California and Washington, to an OMG hidden camera, admitting to employment practices that violate federal and state anti-discrimination laws. During the hidden camera investigation, Ferrer acknowledged that hiring decisions are often made based on race. He explained further that hiring is evaluated in terms of the school’s perceived cultural needs, adding, “Who do we feel is best for kids right now in the context of that school site or that classroom? So if it’s a person of color, great. If it’s a trans teacher, great.” Ferrer also discussed how the district’s DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) priorities impact candidate selection. When asked if there are certain quotas they try to meet, he explained, “Obviously we have a lot of kids that identify as LGBTQ, maybe even trans. So we have one trans teacher in our district… and so I think it’s just culturally, we just naturally look for those folks.” Ferrer also admitted that political ideology plays a role in who is and isn’t hired. When asked if Summit Public Schools would ever hire someone who supports Donald Trump, Ferrer bluntly replied, “I don’t think we would hire them.” He elaborated that the school uses DEI-based interview questions to filter out candidates who do not align with the district’s values. “We do have DEI questions built into our selection process,” Ferrer said. “We have a rubric… if they say any of these things, this is not someone who's answering the question the way we’re aligned to answer the question.” He provided an example of the kind of response that would disqualify a candidate, saying, “If the candidate or teacher is like, ‘Well, I want to make sure that [students] learn about conservative values,’ blah, blah, blah… that’s probably not what we are looking for.” -
I've been meaning to respond to this, as you repeatedly ask the above, but I hadn't gotten around to it. When I tried searching for statistics of violent crimes BY transgenders, all of the results were for violent crimes AGAINST transgenders. Odd. I tried both Google and DuckDuckGo. You would think that such algorithms would be sophisticated enough to understand my search. Regardless, I'm left to conclude that either such data doesn't exist, or they don't want me to see it. More importantly though, there is a danger in relying on past results to predict future results, particularly when the systems generating those results have undergone significant change. I point this out frequently to @The Real timschochet whenever he quotes statistics about the economic benefits of immigration. In the case of trans women, until recently we have had much fewer trans people, and those generally had to go through years of therapy, much of the latter end I presume in learning how to coexist in society. But now we have a social contagion (please don't argue we don't, you are too smart for that) and a large industry built around "gender affirmation." Think about that -- "affirmation" implies that we accept your belief as the default. Much has been documented about the comorbidities that trans folks have with other mental health issues; if you want me to search for some links I can. Somebody posted that link about the trans woman wanting to bang Mace's face into the cement until she dies. You can say that's a one-off, but such folks are out there. Also, this recent surge in trans acceptance (if not celebration) has begun to enable a class of sh1tty men who are predators but not trans to get into women's safe spaces. All of this is to say that you cannot look at statistics from the past in this instance. I'll end with a discussion I had with my wife yesterday on this topic. She is a taekwondo black belt so better trained than most to defend herself, but not large, 5' 1". I told her about this thread and she pointed out that women wear some weird stuff in the interest of fashion, and if you have a romper on, you are basically sitting in the stall nekkid. She didn't like the idea of a large man in the room, or the stall next door, while feeling so vulnerable. I like to think of myself as empathetic, but I don't think any guy can truly empathize with women on this topic.

Well, dumb shiot is a matter of perspective. Progressives: We want to medically trans the kids! Conservatives: That's focking stupid! Progressives: Conservatives whine non-stop! If you'd like, we can take turns listing things over the course of history which both sides have complained about. I think you know you'll quickly lose that battle because, well, see the definition of progressivism. I think the problem is that for most of history, progressives whined, and conservatives mostly just sat back and let them whine. But now with the internet, conservatives are whining back, and you don't like it. Also because it is different than the past, it seems disproportionately large.

Parents call out unfairness as trans pitcher throws shutout in Minnesota softball state quarterfinals

Without a doubt this has been one of the biggest quandary's for the Dem party. Every logical person knows that men should not compete against women in physical sporting events. Majority of Dem voters also believe that. Dems are supposed to be for "women's rights" Yet for some reason they won`t take a stand on this. Makes no sense at all. Being trans has nothing to do with being gay. The gay just like their own sex whatever it is. Trans think they are sex they are not. No woman who thinks she is a man as yet to compete and dominate a male sport. That will never happen. Yet males can easily dominate bio women's sports. How is that fair to women? -

TB’s original claim was that trans stuff should be more important to women than abortion, since trans stuff affects “every” woman. We can argue about the #s, but wayyyy more women are going to have an abortion or unwanted pregnancy vs. be assaulted by a tranny in a public bathroom or lose a sports opportunity to one. And unless we’re talking about being raped by a tranny, the result of abortion laws is way more impactful than sports stuff. I’d bet most women would rather lose a sports competition than have to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term. Any way you slice it, TB’s argument is just dumb. Unfortunately you missed most of it and decided to pester me instead. That’s okay though I like you Jerry. -
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy - anyone tried it?

Is being trans the direct cause, or might it be growing up with trans hate all around, like we heavily have here, bruh? I imagine growing up hiding something because it's so widely despised takes its toll on a poor child's mental health. Imagine a trans child reading this forum and seeing all the unhealthy hate and obsession. No different from victims of pedophiles. You expect a kid whose dad molested them during their childhood to become a mentally fit adult with no issues? What a microcosm we have here, a bunch of angry middle-aged white men fearing trans, playing the discrimination card and acting like a bunch of sissy victims. Boo hoo. Man up, bruhs, and have some empathy and compassion. That's what real men do, even middle-aged white ones. -

Long ago, on a discussion of abortion, I introduced the concepts of "infinity-minus" and "zero-plus," which actually came from my engineering world. Abortion advocates are infinity-minus -- their default is that abortion is legal, but we can carve out situations where it is illegal. I fall into the zero-plus camp, which is the opposite, because I oppose abortion for convenience. Theoretically you could arrive at the same point with each approach, but it is unlikely, and each is a different mindset. The point being that while I oppose abortion, I recognize that there are cases worth discussing its legality. This approach shows empathy and a willingness to negotiate solutions in good faith. I've had a lot of successful business negotiations with this approach. Back to trans, I tend to fall into the zero-plus camp as well regarding the privileges of their chosen gender, to use your phrase (which I like). Obviously, trans advocates like Squissy here are infinity-minus. But I do it from a backdrop of recognizing the reality that some small number of people truly have gender dysphoria. From this backdrop, we can have productive discussions with the infinity-minus folks regarding questions like: what do we do with such people? What is truly in their best interest? How do we merge that into a functioning and safe society? What about children? I find this approach much more productive and easier to defend than a staunch "zero" stance. -

You said trans issues affect “every” women and it’s a bigger issue than abortion. It only affects women who live in a state that allows trans in women’s sports and play the same sports as a tranny. And it only impacts all of them to the degree that they’re all one rank lower. How is that a bigger issue than abortion, something that potentially affects any sexually active woman and has a much greater consequence? -

Unless a woman athlete is on the same team as a tranny or competes against one, how are they affected by a trans athlete? Seems like you assume every female in the state is affected by trans athletes but dismiss projections based on actual abortion data. Isn’t every sexually active woman potentially impacted by abortion law? -
Because in support of your position you keep pivoting to tiny-percentage aspects of the trans community instead of saying you don't hate all trans people. Instead of responding with a question, just say you don't hate all trans people, and let's move on.

I just find this topic entertaining. Instead of Democrats saying they were wrong on this topic (which would be a net win for them), they keep minimizing it and laughing when it's brought up. The fact is, this is a bigger women's rights issue than abortion is. This affects EVERY woman, everywhere. Its not only about athletes, but in everyday life. Abortion only affects a very small portion of women. If they abandon the trans movement, they lose no one. There's no one on the right who's picking up that banner, so the trans community's only recourse is to stay in the LGBT conglomerate and pretend to be marginalized just like the L's, G's, and B's. The Democrats win because they can still pretend to care about all women's rights. -

I'm amazed at how you Lefties are unable to differentiate between insults and dehumanizing labels. Calling someone a tard or an idiot is an insult, generally (as in this case) based on a specific action and situation. Labeling Trump Clownzo or now Taco, or labeling all Trump supporters MAGAtards, is an attempt to dehumanize. It's a subtle difference in language which I wouldn't expect you to understand. HTH. Also as I look, there is one other "trans" thread on the first page, and that is talking about Pride Month. That's a little different topic than this one, and hardly an example of "trans threads daily." -

The Real timschochet replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
If you have to ask this question then IMO you’re part of the problem. But to answer you: I would prefer a more woke society in which most people are both tolerant and accepting of gays and trans and regarded these people as normal, worthy of dignity and respect, and consideration. We’re far removed from that and to me this is depressing.
