I disagree, transsexuals and homosexuals are different, IMO. Trans = gender dysmorphia. Homosexual = sexually attracted to members of the same sex as you. Transwoman (man to woman) can still be sexually attracted to women if even they change their gender. It's not about sexual attraction to be trans, it's about you feeling like you were born the wrong gender. I have read that the LGB folks wish that the T's were never added to their alphabet. They've kind of ruined what it means to be 'gay' according to that crowd. -

JFC Tim, trans was removed as mental illness because of FEELINGS. Literally. There was ZERO science involved. How can you not comprehend that and call this bullshat? ZERO science. Enough academics got enough power and said it wasn’t mental illness based on nothing but feelings. It was literally removed because of concerns over how trans people would be perceived, so they quit calling it mental illness. This is not my opinion, it’s literally the words of the American Psychiatry Association who writes the DSM. -

Said they are people deserving of respect like any other person with a mental disorder. it’s more than just reading books to kids in libraries but again, a lot of people in this thread are not dismissing trans people -

Another way Gaines is bigoted is her insistence on calling trans girls “he.” You don’t even have to say “she,” just use their name, even only their last name. Insisting on saying “he” is just being a dbag because you feel like it. And if the response is “no one should have to participate in their mental illness,” then it’s acknowledging that this “cause” isn’t just about sports. -

Ok, you're acting like a 10 year old little b!tch, so I'll treat you like one. Fine. Ok little b!tch, here it is, wrapped up in a little bow. YOU claimed that Gaines point was that girls/women, being forced to play against boys (hence, on the field), was akin to sexual abuse (heaven forbid I misquoted you, while the point still remained the same). YOUR assessment was based on a tweet that Gaines posted of a group picture of the girls softball team... it wasn't a quote. So, it was what YOU think, was the point she was making. I gave you an article stating what Gaines' argument on this topic has been... and it's never changed. It's about girls/women, being forced by the school/government/governing bodies, to be naked (showers), in front of naked men, being akin to sexual abuse. So, even though I proved you wrong... AND Gaines herself proved you wrong in that Fox show you noted, you still haven't admitted you were wrong. YOU claimed that Gaines was a bigot. Gaines has NEVER ONCE said that trans people should be ignored, she only said that they don't belong in women's sports. Now, I do believe she has said that they should have their own category, but I don't recall. I do KNOW that she never said to ignore them. So, there really is no reason for Biles to call out Gaines, at all, unless Biles is being the bigot. Gaines says men don't belong in women's sports. If Biles is ok with that, then I'm not surprised that is her stance, now that it doesn't directly affect her anymore (see Megan Rapinoe). If she doesn't, then she agrees with Gaines. So, why call her out? I'll tell you why, it's because she, like you in this thread, is being a little b!tch, and wants attention. Her objective is greed, ego, and vanity... to stay important for some post-gymnastics career. Again, odd that's her objective considering that's why she needed a "mental health" break during the Olympics. Yours seems to be a Napoleon Complex. She took the "L" because she knows she was wrong about the personal attacks towards Gaines and that she actually doesn't disagree with Gaines about boys/men not belonging in girls/women's sports. She apologized because she knows that the vast majority of the country agrees with Gaines. It's her attempt to pretend to stand up against conservative beliefs and come off as being morally superior. YOU are a fool for falling for it. -

Jesus. I get where you're coming from but shockingly disagree with you. IMO in your trans example is specious. I don't think any trans people GAF about being 100% accepted, they just want to be left alone and treated with basic human respect. I believe that calling by their preferred name or pronoun is exactly that. If someone has a problem with that, it is indeed THEIR problem, not the problem of the trans individual. Here's one that will surprise you: one could look at the trans individuals themselves as oppressors to an extent. While I am supportive of trans rights like the good little mindless lib you believe me to be, I do have concerns for those whose rights are being infringed upon. You focus on men in women's sports, but I'm with Tim and consider that to be such a ridiculously small problem that it doesn't register. A bigger problem is what I have personally experienced in the workplace: a transsexual woman (biological man) using the women's locker room. Being that I work somewhere awesome with awesome employees, it hasn't been a huge issue, but the fact is that I was in a position where I had to tell a couple dozen women that they essentially had to STFU and deal with the fact that this new employee was going to be using their locker room. And while it has worked out okay, the fact that I had to do that gave me pause. No such thing as black and white. As for the Israel/Palestine situation, please. I can recognize multiple truths at the same time: Hamas is evil and should be wiped out. Not every Palestinian supports Hamas, especially the young children. Israel is perfectly justified in retaliating and me being okay with it doesn't make me an Islamaphobe. Netenyahu is a questionable leader with a scummy past that may be in the process of carrying out genocide, so maybe we oughtta look into that and make sure it doesn't happen just because "God's chosen people" are pissed off. I can support the Palestinians that are suffering and question Zionism without being antisemitic and also recognize that while I think their Muslim religion is garbage, they as humans are not. I disagree with the tenets of most religion, but who am I (and who are you) to tell someone their religious beliefs are immoral, wicked, or wrong? You're encroaching on @weepaws territory here. -
Watched with a bunch of family. My father and myself being the only Trump supports (more so anti liberal). Aside from the food the evening was terrible. Not only was the game shit, but as soon as they showed Trump, the groans and comments from the rest of the family began. I love my Aunt very much. We are very close, she's my godmother etc. but she is a classic TDSer. The rest of the game, I was counting the little snide comments she made about Trump. The pre game theatrics featuring black people.... "Trump must be loving this" .... the halftime show... even the commercial about breast cancer awareness, the same aunt, while pondering why mens health commercials show carrots instead of the actual pelvic region, slipped in a comment about Trump being orange. Everything finally came to a head when there was a commercial that I guess was promoting womens sports as being awesome and another Trump comment was made and a lengthy debate ensued about trans in women's sports, trans in general and eventually ended up in DEI stuff. That lasted close to an hour. Sure, I ended up getting involved in it but for focks sake I just want to enjoy my sports. Leave your non stop MSNBC and The View watching at home. It's the Super Bowl

You’re just making sh1t up, and trying to back it up with year and a half old articles for some reason. Honestly I feel pretty confident in saying that even Gaines’ biggest issue with competing aging biological males anyway is the actual competing, not locker rooms (rightfully so). Are you saying if trans kids were provided separate locker rooms but still allowed to compete against girls, Gaines (and apparently you) would be okay with it? -

You edited out the part where I noted that I am against trans males competeing against women. Still this so seldom happends that it is not newsworthy IMO and certainly not enough for each incident merit its own thread. -
