TIKI-BARBERS-BARBER 0 Posted March 23, 2006 Take it for what its worth but the site has been right alot of times more then they get credit for. http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm LORD FAVRE IS COMING BACK Although there's been no official announcement, we've been told that Packers quarterback Brett Favre has informed the team that he'll be returning for the 2006 season. The move means that the Packers almost certainly will not take a quarterback with the fifth overall pick in the draft. Previously, we'd heard that the team would potentially be interested in selecting Matt Leinart, if Favre were to walk away. Since 2002, the question of whether Favre would or wouldn't retire has been the subject of rampant and regular scrutiny. His return for 2006 means that, barring an unequivocal statement before, during, or after the coming season, we'll get to spend another 12 months or so periodically addressing the same, old, tired issue. Let Da Big Dog Eat 40 Posted March 23, 2006 If true, good news for Rodgers. One more year before he gets thrown to the wolves behind those NFLE guards and second rate WR's (Javon is gone). Sorry for the HOFer that he will go out after 2 crappy years in a row. Would have liked to see him go out after a great year and deep playoff run.

Check the geek club under GiantsFans post "sisters wedding" The real sad part is that D'Homer might have been suspended from that, and various other posts because of it... Kyle Orton 0 Posted March 23, 2006 I am really excited that Brett is coming back. He is a reall nice guy (except when the painkillers wear out). It is great to have a legend too look up to in my own division. That is assuming the Bears dont cut me for ucking.

Timinator 0 Posted March 23, 2006 I'd like to see the guy make the Pro Bowl again. Go out on a high note and shut up some of these idiots who think Madden's shenanigans mean that Brett can't play. Favre's always been the risk-taking gunslinger. This ain't new. He led the NFL in TD passes, along with Carson Palmer, through the fist half of last season. Last season. Not 1997. Plus, he looked more mobile last season than he had in five years. I know it takes more work at his current age, but he's way too good to quit just yet. murf74 461 Posted March 23, 2006 Favre has not made a decision, in fact he and the Pack just agreed to push back his roster bonus date so he can take more time to decide. If I was a Pack fan I would be irate at Favre right now. He has taken the team hostage.

Yeah, well I knew a guy who had a roommate that used to work with a janitor at a local company, and that janitor saw a guy who looked like Brett Favre drink a beer one time. Seriously, that's true. I lived in Green Bay, I know. Because of that, he's just not a good guy.

Guest Black Label Society Posted March 23, 2006 I hope he plays for 3 more years. 48 games of pure anguish and mediocrity might get him to shut up. I know, as a Vikes fan, I'll enjoy watching his team suck every week in the fall. In all reality, it's too bad they won't go spend some money on FA's this year. They have some money, and have no interest in trying to make a run at it one more time for him. All I can tell you is the pack is gonna suck for another 10 years. They'll be lucky to ever get a QB that comes close to a Brett Favre (as would any team).

That requires patience from the organization and the fans. They are signing guys, just not big splash guys. The approach to free agency is to plug holes with reasonably priced guys who can contribute, not break the bank on high priced free agents. That model has worked well in the NFL. Green Bay's problems can be directly traced to some horrible recent drafts, a trend I expect will be reversed under Thompson. So, don't expect them to load up on free agents for one more run any time soon. That's not Ted Thompson. The sooner Packer fans figure that out, the better, because I'm getting sick of hearing the Thompson bashing.

They'll be lucky to ever get a QB that comes close to a Brett Favre (as would any team). A... they know they further away than a few overpriced guys to really make a run...perhaps your team should realize that as well. B. 10 years huh? This based on the aging team that is in cap hell? No wait...they are one of the youngest teams out there and have plenty of money. Just because Favre is gone...does not mean the end of the franchise...the line that they will suck for 5-10 years automatically is one of the most ignorant things people like to throw around given the youth and cap space they have. With out Favre the Packers are even worse then the Bears over the last 20 years. He maybe the greatest QB ever and the team owes it to him to let him do what ever he wants. If he is coming back I think it's great. Worse than the Bears over the last 20? Please...pass me what you are smoking.

Sho Nuff 720 Posted March 23, 2006 You even read what I wrote or do you talk out of you butt all the time?
