Predict your teams 1st round draft selection

Recommended Posts

Buffalo 1.8 Winston Justice (who i think they'll pick, not who i want)

Who do you want them to take? I really, really, really hope they go Oline, at least. I don't care if they trade up, stay put, or even trade down a bit. I just want something added to the OLine in the first round.

It seems like it's been 40 years since they had a descent OLine.

Who I want for Dallas

Bunkley DT (won't happen)

who they'll probably get

Winston Justice OG

You mean the LT from USC who was picked before Bunkley? How about Gabe Watson, DT Michigan.

No one has done Kansas City, sooo...

1-20: Tye Hill, CB Clemson. He's been a riser since Senior Bowl week, but those who put him top 15 are reaching. This CB draft is solid but not top heavy. Hill is the best pure cover guy, but his size is marginal for a first day pick. Jimmy Williams would make more sense physically, but the Chiefs already have CB/S tweener, and JW has off field issues and KC is a family team. Second choice, if available, Jason Allen. Third choice Kamerion Wimberly.

I don't think there's any doubt that NE will draft for defense. LB and DB is where they need some help.

The names getting tossed around are Greenway (LB, Iowa), Carpenter (LB, OHState), and maybe Ty Hill (CB, Clemson).

There was talk about Carpenter being a DL/LB "tweener" type player that fits perfectly for the NE scheme.

First Round? Charles Spencer?

Maybe a stretch at this point, but I see him moving up several draft boards and in instances ranked as the best guard available. Plus, he is a Pitt product. The underlying thought is they will take the OL with the highest grade still available which I see as being at the G position which they could use. Just my thoughts.

Nawlins 1.02 trades down to 1.04 with NYJ. Saints draft "Brick" or "Hawk". Both would be huge for the Saints.

I think Young falls out of the top 5 -- possibily top 10

Come on Portis, we all know that he won't make it past Oakland at #7.

1.18 Dallas - Manny Lawson (DE/OLB)

2nd Round: LB McIntosh - Miami

Interesting choice...

They have McClure, and just resigned Clemons, and have Campbell in the mix... I think they will take Fasano if he is available. Fauria is nice, but getting older.... and Fasano can block and catch -- ala Donnie Warren

I know... just stirring the pot some.... but I did say "possibily"

Notre Dame tight end Anthony Fasano visited Redskins Park yesterday in preparation for the April 29-30 NFL draft. The 6-foot-4, 259-pound Fasano is projected by some draft analysts as the second- or third-best tight end in the draft, behind Maryland's Vernon Davis , and is compared to Georgia tight end Leonard Pope .

Traditionally, tight ends are not highly coveted in the first round, and with the Washington Redskins' first pick not coming until the second round -- 53rd overall -- Fasano could be available.

Having acquired wide receivers Brandon Lloyd and Antwaan Randle El , safety Adam Archuleta , defensive end Andre Carter and tight end Christian Fauria through free agency, the Redskins have addressed their primary offseason needs aggressively.

But this year's draft is considered to be a deep one and experts are high on Fasano in no small part because he played in the NFL-style Notre Dame offense under Coach Charlie Weis . Fasano improved each year at Notre Dame, catching 47 passes last season for 576 yards and two touchdowns.

Last week, Texas-El Paso outside linebacker Thomas Howard visited the Redskins. The 6-3, 239-pound Howard is projected on some draft charts to be one of the top five or six linebackers in the draft.

"There are a lot of good linebackers in the draft," league draft analyst and former Dallas player personnel director Gil Brandt said of Howard. "I don't think he'll be there at 53, but there are a lot outside linebackers in this draft who can run."

1.30 Colts

Maroney. Maybe L White. If both are avilable, I dont know which one I want more. I loved White all through last season but all this garbage about a hammy and overwight scares me a little.

  :pointstosky:

Seattle

1.31 Ko Simpson, S, South Carolina

I don't think they would. I keep hearing the guy has attitude problems.

It wouldn't be Ruskell like.

Also, after trading for Green. I don't think a day 1 pick at safety is in the plan. Maybe on sunday.

I look for Round 1:

CB Kelly Jennings

or

CB Richard Marshall

Round 2:

DE Darryl Tapp

Houston Texans - 1.01 Reggie Bush, RB (obviously)

New York Jets - 1.04 D'Brickshaw Ferguson, OT

This predicts that the Saints will take Mario Williams at 1.02 and the Titans will take Vince Young at 1.03.

The Jets may take Leinart at 1.04, but in my heart of hearts I believe they'll pass on another immobile white QB.

New York Jets - 1.29 LenDale White, RB

The Jets need an heir apparent to Mr. Martin, and White's stock has been dipping to the point where he may be available this late. I think that Maroney will be selected before White (possibly by Carolina).

Jags-Lenoard Pope or Ernie Sims
I say we take Greenway if he's there somehow or DeAngelo Williams. I think were prepared to forego drafting a LB in the first round if "our" guy is not there. If I had to rank our top three potentials that may be there..

1. C. Greenway (I can dream....right)

2. A. Cromartie

3. D. Williams
