Hellmuth is in his own category when he became the first player in the history of the WSOP to win 10 bracelets and cash at least 50 times.

I like Mike sexton and Howard Lederer. Both solid players that don't cry like b!tches when they get beat.

How many times will we have to hear Phil Helmuth say he's the 1st and only 10 time bracelet winner of the world series of poker?

GO PHIL :ninja:

Maybe it's more than 10, I thought he needed 1 more to be all the time leader?

I saw a promo on ESPN saying the record was broken this year. Maybe it's Brunson or Chan.

Yup, i was wrong as usual.

Hellmuth ties Brunson, Chan with 10th WSOP bracelet. • 2006 WSOP Event

What I wasn't wrong about, was having to hear Phil tell us all about it. :(

I only have seen Sexton play in highlimit against other pros so I don't know.

Last year, Lederer was at a featured table and left to go to the rope and bitched about how so many players were hanging with bad cards and its a near impossible read.

B!tching once in a while is ok. I do it and so does everyone else. What I hate is that Helmuth is convinced he can't be outplayed and if you win against him your just lucky.

Everyone gets frustrated from time to time, but I have great respect for Lederer. He is a true professional and a hell of a player.

I can't argue with that. I just wanted to point out, he's not above it.

The b!tching is what I love about Helmuth. Its his table image and its successful. He'll ###### as someone when he has J-x suited, raises out of the BB and gets a call from someone with small pockets. The caller then gets trips and wins the hand. Phil will cry about how it was ridiculous for him to call his raise.

He has established a losse image and then tighens up.

He's one of, if not the best ever.

Can somebody clue me in as to what HORSE is?

Hold'em

Omaha

Razz

Stud

Eight or better

The games rotate with each pass of the dealler chip. never played it, but I imagine its fun as hell.

Too bad they don't televise it. It would be interesting.

I am extremely impressed with these pros that are this good at all of these games. I like hold 'em and I play a lot, but I'm obviously nowhere near pro level. These guys are insanely skilled at all of these games. To be able to switch from game to game and play at a high level like that...it gives me great respect for them.

Okay, I'm not much into this WSOP stuff, so bear with me. According to the site, this tourney has 2000 players at this point, right? How did these 2000 get in & does it really take 2 weeks for this to play itself out?

Essentially, what did Strike & ESPN Page 2 writer Bill Simmons do to get in?

TIA

Best of luck to ya Strike! You should have my # as well. And whatever advice GFIAFP gave you, do the exact opposite.

If you get into a bind, tell 'em that you're the two-time reigning champ of Geek Pokah Supahstahs!

That alone should make 'em fold like little girls
