I can leave for six months at a time and always be greeted with a thread of davebg whining about his wife when I return. Really, it's refreshing and fun for the whole gang.

I really do believe you have a semi-warped sense of what a marriage is. You seem to constantly whine about your needs and how your wife shoul dbe taking care of you, etc etc.

Take care of your damn self and realize she has a life too amd it most likely does NOT revolve around you.

I know you want this, and that's great. But it's my opinion you;re setting her up to fail. And that's just not fair to do to her.

You will never EVER change who a person is. You might be able to get a few changes in the things they do, but this sounds like a fundmental aspect of her personality(making you unhappy that is) and you will never ever change that.

So if you can't accept it, you need to leave, otherwise you're wasting your time and hers.

Having a partner who you can count on to pay attention to what they are doing and not having to watch over them as you would a child is a "warped sense of what marriage is"???

God I hope you're wrong.

Perhaps...although, I had the asthma way before I ever started smoking. Unfortunately, we may never find out, as I do not plan to go off my meds.

And...you obviously do not plan to stop smoking pot.

Yeah that's the way you simplify it but for her to accidentally take your cell phone, and for you to react as badly as you did, makes me think you do this often, for any event whatsoever.

In that case, it is a failure.

Perhaps you wouldn't need maint. meds if you stopped filling your lungs with pot smoke?

Just a thought.

Perhaps you could raise your own children instead of pawning them off to some focking daycare.

I'm with you Davebg, your wife seems like a typical wife, don't pay enough attention to anything, unless it involves her. :wall:

BUT Yeah..This isn't working for you right? Well, there are men out there who LIKE women who they have to treat like a child. There are men who want to feel like they are the guidance in a grown woman's life. Don't know why, but they definitely do exist.

Point I made before is this is who she is. You will not change her. So let her go. Make each other happy. Let her find a man who will tolerate these things more than you will.

The phone thing was just the icing on the cake. After getting all worked up the night before about the important stuff (the car and health insurance), I got to deal with this before I even got dressed this morning.

I mean, the two phones were sitting there on the counter, charging right next to one another. They are identical. Common sense would dictate that one pushes the two buttons to unlock the device to actually look and see if you have the right one.

If I had married some ditz I would expect this kind of stuff, but one of the things that has always attracted me to Mrs. DaveBG is her intelligence. She's smart...she's funny...all that. Believe me, I dated plenty of dumb girls in my day and no matter how hot they were or how compatible we were in the sack, I could never get past not being able to hold a decent conversation with them.

ITA.

The way that you reacted to her accidentally taking the wrong phone was kind of childish, IMO. I can totally picture you yelling/screaming at her, too. If you don't want her to take your phone, then put it in a place that she's not likely to grab it...maybe by YOUR wallet and YOUR things. Get a small basket to put YOUR stuff in whenyou get home - keys, change, etc. My husband has an area of the counter that's HIS. His phone, wallet, work ID badge, etc.

Take responsibility for your own ######...sincerely. Same as with the COBRA/health stuff. I would have nagged my husband to DEATH if my health care was dependent on him making a phone call or getting the correct form.

Truth hurts, don't it???

Or does it even bother you????

I bet it is the latter.

I don't really feel the need to justify anything to you, who the ###### are you, anyways? You just crawl out of the woodwork to comment on things you know nothing about.

I thought common sense would've been to do something to distinguish the two phones from each other....or even better than that...get different phones

If your phone is so important to what you do...common sense would be to seperate the phones, charge your's elsewhere....don't take it out on her because your focking suck

You shouldn't allow yourself to get all worked up. Talk about things calmly.

Common sense would tell YOU to find another place to charge your phone, so as she doesn't take your again - surely there's more than one outlet in your home?

You CAN"T have a decent conversation with your wife - you always end up getting "worked up" and mad...calling her names and blaming everything on her and her mother.

How difficult would it be to do something to differentiate the two phones so as not to make her have to unlock it every focking morning? put a little scratch on the back or a piece of tape, anything. Sheesh.

I try...belive me...I do.

But whenever I bring any of this stuff up I get the old "OK...enough...I get it!" out of her. Then she does the same focking thing all over again. It doesn't matter if it's stoopid crap like the phone or her not using the little thing to catch food in the sink drain and then her wondering why the kitchen sink smells like garbage (how about b/c it's not a focking garbage disposal) or if it's the important things like the car.

I get so frustrated b/c sometimes it seems as if nothing I say registers.

ETA: And that is EXACTLY what her mother does to her and it p|sses her off to no end.

If that's how you chose to view it all, then fine.

Personally, stop smoking pot because you have ###### asthma. If you smoked cigarettes, I would probably supoprt her telling you to stop that as well. It's more a health issue, and since you have breathing problems ANYWAYS, I think smoking pot is kinda a dumbass move.

By telling you to move your phone/mark your phone, it's just making sure that you're taking responsibility for your "stuff" and making sure that this doesn't happen again. if you can't take PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for your things, then deal with things like this happening over and over again.

AND, YOU are the one on here complaining, not her.

So Dave, why don't you just get the fock out? Life's too short to be so miserable. Maybe a separation would do one of two things: 1) Solidify the fact that you're happier without her or 2)Make you & her realize that you want to be together regardless of the little shiit that happens.

You can either curse the darkness or light a candle. Your focking choice.

You've already mentioned repeatedly that most of thse things seem to be a recurring problem. If the problems that aggravate you so much keep recurring, it's simply because you've made a choice to live in a situation that you know will aggravate you. It's no different than a little kid who cries because the stove is hot - and has burned him 10 times in a row. You know what she's like. You know she hasn't changed, and yet you continue to live in that environment. - That's your choice.

I'm sorry about all of this and I know I'd be upset too about some of this stuff, but from what you have shared, it doesn't seem like you two are communicating much other than she's telling you what happened and you are getting angry, then leaving to vent elsewhere.

Without talking calmly and sans blame, there is no getting past this. If she is the intelligent woman that you married, and you both CARE enough to work on the issues, this shouldn't be all that difficult.

You are the one who had a child and then, for very selfish reasons, decided that someone else should raise it. That is outragous!!!

You are tired of me reminding you of your decision???

I am trying to help you, and your child. Don't you think that your child would rather be with thier MOM instead of in some freaking daycare. If you only cared about your child as much as you like to nag your husband, I wouldn't be forced to remind you of this all the time.

Who am I you ask??

This made me laugh and your a moron :first: I would love to be a stay at home mother (if I was a mom) although some of us don't have the leisure and funds to only have the husband work. It's 2006 stop waiting for your apple pie to be ready when you come home from work.

Dave, living your life nagging your wife and vice versa will end up with one of you hating the other or killing each other. Either look past each other’s faults and stop b!tching or get a divorce. It's not like you didn't know what you were getting into when you asked her to marry you. Not saying that it's your fault, although I'm sure she's feeling like sh!t every time you yell at her, since woman tend to be a tad sensitive. You both need to talk it out or move on; people do it everyday, just IMO and all.

Dood..I just can't get on your side completely with this sheet--sounds like she can make NO MISTAKES..without you getting all up her azz.

Either way, you sound pathetically miserable, b!tchy, unhappy and want perfection in your wife. She cannot give it to you(who the fock could).

Get out now. Give HER the chance to find a man that can handle a mistake (or 10) by the woman they love and realize life is just too g0ddamn short to make a big deal out of little stuff.

Seriously, everyone got all up and down TNG's ass for her nagging her husband, well dood, this is the same thing. You are on her all the time, for everything she does, and you don't seem to think of a a better way, or a mutual arrangement that would avoid these things.

So you continually try to live your life YOUR way, with no changes to support her or the way she lives.

And you are miserable..and is it worth it?

I think that I finally see what the big issue here is. davebg cannot be without health insurance and that is very important to him. I think that the asthma excuse is just a shield for his true problems.

From reading this totally stupid thread (and reading several like this from him), it is clear that he is really looking for health insurance to cover his real problem. The problem is that he wants to have a sex change so that he can be a complete woman, rather than just being a big focking poosay.

I have never heard of such a loser who likes to blame all of his problems on someone else. Take charge of your life and take responsibility for things that happen. If you HONESTLY believe that your wife is the cause of all of those problems, then get rid of her. My gut tells me that your problems will not go away, because YOU are the reason for the problems. Learn to change how you react to situations of adversity and opportunity and you might actually have a chance.

Until then, STFU because we are not your therapist. As far as people giving him encouragement and support, you should realize that you are enabling his dysfunctional behavior.
