mggoilers 0 Posted November 16, 2006 I met Charles Barkley, he threw me through a plate glass window..JK On my 21st birthday, went to a club in Dallas where my brother worked the door. Went to the bar, and Darren Woodson gave me a nudge and offered an apology. Offered to buy me a beer(which I accepted), my friends had ordered shots to celebrate...Woodson caught wind of my birthday. Stopped a shot girl, he bought an entire tray of shots(about 25). He then proceeded to walk around the bar with me telling every beautiful girl it was my birthday...ended up taking about 6-7 shots with Dallas' finest. The nicest athlete I've ever met, and a genuinely good guy. This was in 94, the Cowboys owned the town...my brush with Cowboy greatness.
Let Da Big Dog Eat 38 Posted November 16, 2006 Had lunch a number of years ago with Hollywood Henderson (business stuff), one of the funniest people I have ever met. Others, but that was the highlight, the guy can eat, talk and is so funny that you can't do either. Now that I think back on it we never got down to business but I got the deal done anyway. LT was real standoffish, but still pretty cool. GhostofMeanMachine99 1 Posted November 16, 2006 Cracked a joke at Pepper Johnson's expense one time (in his presence) which was funny AND scary at the same time. Met a few celebs, but the best was drinking (sorta) with Jim Kelly. After an indoor lax game, me and my buds stopped into McGillen's (Philly) for a few beers. Notice a crowd of people at the bar, all surrounding Jim Kelly and his brother. We mosy on up to the bar, Kelly starts buying shots for the whole bar, including us. He does this for a good 2 hours. Finally, he and his brother leave and get a taxi. Bartender said he left like a $100 tip. Real good guy. Boy he's alot bigger in person. Buddy of mine literally bumped into Prince at the Minneapolis airport about 2 months ago. He said his 3 year old daughter was bigger than Prince.

War Ensemble 0 Posted November 16, 2006 Randy Johnson sat 2 rows right behind me at the Metallica concert in Tucson, AZ in March 2003. It was the section reserved for Metallica Club members. Everybody constantly bugged him for autographs LOL. I'm Dutch, not a big baseball fan, but it was still cool to see the guy. He's huge and was very happy to sign everyone's stuff until the lights went out for the show to start LOL. I heard somewhere he's good friends with the band. JackARoot 2 Posted November 16, 2006 One of my best friends is the grandson of Red Dunn, who was the QB, punter and kicker for the Packers during their run of three consequitive championships in 29, 30, and 31. He's got some cool stuff framed in at his house like his grandpa's helmet (now these guys were some tough somamabiatches to wear that flimsy piece of leather while playing football) and his grandpa's original contract signed by Curly Lambeau. I think the contract paid him something like $50/game! He's taken me to a few games up in Green Bay and we checked out the Packer Hall of Fame ... theres a life-sized photo that takes up a whole wall showing the offense lined-up and his grandpa behind center. Pretty Cool. Another of Red's grandson's (a cousin of my friend) was a backup QB for the Titan's for awhile when McNair was there- Jason Gesser (sp?). I think he played his college ball at Washington State.
RedzoneMonster 102 Posted November 16, 2006 I once had a drink with former Playboy Playmate and Host of USA Networks “Up All Night” Rhonda Shear (about 12 yrs ago now when I was 19). Funny story – I was waiting tables at a hotel/restaurant in NJ that she was staying at. I instantly recognized her and started flirting with her as if I had a shot in hell… She must of thought my pathetic attempt was cute b/c the next night as I was closing down she came out of the bar and said “come join me for a drink when your done”. About 10 mins later I went to the bar and ended up sitting with her and another woman and guy (I think they were her agents). Basically I awkwardly sat there for about 20 minutes listening to them talk about “Holloywood” stuff. She was really cool though – even signed and kissed (w/ hot orange lipstick) a photo for me. Also, like everyone else in central Jersey I have seen Jon Bon Jovi and Springsteen about a 100 times each. Not a huge fan of either, but still kind of cool to see them. Fyi - Jon Bon Jovi is about 5’ 5’’ in real life. I was in a record store here in NJ a few yrs back and Jon was in the store as well being all discreet trying not to be noticed. Some tool walks up to him and says loudly to his face “ARE YOU JON BON JOVI”??? Me and my wife starting cracking up and I think he saw us laughing..
sorourke 0 Posted November 16, 2006 Bumped into Paul Newman at intermission of a performance of the NY City Opera at Lincoln Center. Chatted along the lines of "How are you enjoying the show?" Tried to be cool and unfazed... Did an OK job of it until the girl I was with blurted out "My Mother is your biggest fan!" The lights dimmed to tell us to head back to our seats, he smiled at her, told her "Tell your mother I said Hello," then went back to his seat. Very gracious and classy man. ganggr 0 Posted November 17, 2006 Met Pat Riely at a knicks summer league game at the westchester county center, what a big ######. I was with my kid and he wonld not sign an autograph or look at the kid. he kept avoiding my kid who was 9 at the time. Literally ignoring him looking agitated, moving away... He was not working either. My son thought seeing pat was incredible as he plays bball and was a hugh knick fan. Then mrs riley shows up and sits with pat, we had given up at the time so were back at our seats. Finally, my wife got so pissed she followed his wife into the ladies room and ratted him out, true story. My wife told the mrs. what a fan my son was and how Mr. Riely was treating a 9 year child and hugh fan. She came out with my wife and got right into his face, finger in the air. Next thing you know he comes over says hi to and and to my kid, apologizes (looking while glancing back at mrs riley) and takesmy sone back to his seats with mrs riley and watched the knick game with pat and family. I cant stand him but his wife is pretty cool.

BoltAddiction 0 Posted November 17, 2006 Today in line at Ralphs I stood next to......... The one, the only...... And I must say the guy was one of the nicest guys... I had to get to an audition other wise I would have waited around to take a picture with him on my phone.... I have become rather imune to sightings since I live & work in Hollywood. I see & talk to guys like Magic Johnson, Byron Russell, Mitch Richmond & Chirs Claiborne a few times a week. I even did a movie once with Gary Busey (He was high during filming!) but Mr. T is by far one of the coolest encounters... The list I could provide is too frigging long - but my favorite of all is that on Thanksgiving every year I play football with the guy who played Zinski

joefry 0 Posted November 17, 2006 This trumps them all: A long story but tottally true In 1997 I was a college student at UW Madison and we had a late spring party/afterbar...well one of our friends had his best friend coming into town(from Stanford, who apparently get off earlier than everyone else) whose roomate happened to be Fred Savage (kevin arnold from the wonderyears). Fred was tagging along that weekend and people knew he was coming so the afterbar got built up into a big deal. Well, before we had the afterbar a few guys plus Fred came over and we got torn to shreds using multiple substances. Fred must not have been used to the intensity because by the time the party started because he was F-ed up with a capital F... here are a few highlights: Fred retreating into a closet because he was freaked out at all the questions Fred having to stand in a 10 deep line for the bathroom(there was only one) because by 3:00Am nobody knew or cared about his celebrity status. Fred then being caught red handed 5 mins later by some chick in my room drying my carpet with a hairdryer, he never made it in I guess. Fred outside of our building on Gilman, puking his guts out with puke all down his shirt. Overall he was a cool guy, unassuming...I didn't hassle him or try to ask him questions. I figured he probably gets enough of that without me doing it. It was funny because he looked like a regular everyday shlep without all of his Hollywood make up on. Very nice and really beautiful...looks too much like her brother in the face though. I've walked by Derek Jeter, saw Giambi at a bar - friends got a picture with him, walked by Robin Williams, met Bill O'Reilly, Manny Ramirez almost ran me over, talked to Ruben Sierra at a PF Changs. The Yankee players go out all over town when they're in Boston. I once ate dinner next to Lenny Wilkins (NBA coach) and as a child was neighbors with a former Celtics player and coach - who is in NBA hall of fame. Got a lot of exposure to NBA stars through him. MLCKAA 421 Posted November 20, 2006 I once did a telephone interview with Glen Phillips of Toad The Wet Sprocket. Also have met him and the other members of the band a few times and they are among the nicest individuals ever. Met the drummer for a band called Luce. He drummed for Counting Crows during their heyday. Met Morris Dees, founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center, who is famous in legal circles for representing blacks pro bono in suits against the KKK. He won a number of high profile cases in which judges awarded black families KKK held properties. Crassic. My wife sat in the row right in front of Jamie Lee Curtis on a flight from Chile to Texas once. Ms. Curtis spoke to my wife to apologize for the fact that her son was kicking the back of the seats. My wife told her "Why don't you give him some benadryl? That calms down my dog when he travels." Met this chick named Nina who was one of the co-frontwomen of Veruca Salt. I tried to talk to her but she obviously thought I was a dork and blew me off. I was hoping to bang her. Met Peyton Manning at a Pacers game following his rookie year. He was sitting courtside and all these Pacers players kept coming up to him. At first we didn't know who it was, but when I figured it out I simply walked down and tapped him on the shoulder. He autographed something, but had very little interest in talking to me. Why talk to MLCKAA when Reggie Miller wants to chat you up? Also met just about every Pacers player of the last 15 years, including Ron Ron. Best ever was meeting Rik Smits.
