Recliner Pilot 61 Posted January 28, 2007 I wonder when she will fly over to Iraq to have her picture taken assembling IEDs with the terrorists? For her next act, Jane Fonda has entered the war against the Iraq war. At the tail-end of yesterday's on-the-Mall rally, organized by United for Peace and Justice, Fonda stood onstage with the Capitol behind her and addressed the sun-drenched thousands. "I haven't spoken at an antiwar rally in 34 years," she said. But, "Silence is no longer an option." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...2701486_pf.html

I dont care if people question the government, I dont care if people protest, that is there god given right. But when you start to associate yourself with the enemy, you are a traitor. Link: http://www.1stcavmedic.com/jane_fonda.htm Background of Jane Fonda's Anti-War Activities While American Soldiers were fighting and dying in the Vietnam War, Jane Fonda, the daughter of Henry Fonda, was using her money and influence at colleges and universities to gather support to advocate communism and encourage rebellion and anarchy against the United States Government. On November 21, 1970 she told a University of Michigan audience of some two thousand students, "If you understood what communism was, you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would some day become communist." crackattack 520 Posted January 28, 2007 Hmmm, wasn't Ronald Reagan an Actor? Point is? My point was, why do the likes of Robbins, Afflack, Surrandon, Penn, people with no political background think that the Amarican public take what they say seriously? Is it just because there actors....wow.

MDC 7,422 Posted January 28, 2007 I wish Jane Fonda and Sean Penn would just die. For whatever reason, most Hollywood types gravitate toward the left side of the political spectrum and it's embarrassing for rightminded people who oppose the war in Iraq to be associated with them. For the record I'd be equally embarrassed to be represented by clowns like Coulter, Malkin, O'Reilly or Ted Nugent. I think it's great when celebrities get involved in charitable causes, like Bono with AIDS, but when it comes to partisan politics they should STFU. Most of them live in an ivory tower fantasyland and know even less than an average jerk on the street. HTH.
fastfish 0 Posted January 28, 2007 Jane Fonda, like John Kerry, must really be agents of Karl Rove...NO ONE can cost the Dems votes faster than these two ego-maniacs. PLEASE let them speak at the DNC in 2008 Give them the all the air time they crave.....it's GOP GOLD!!!

naomi 356 Posted January 29, 2007 The answer could probably be found by googling but I'll just ask here...is anyone familiar with the story where Jane Fonda went to a POW camp and walked down the line of prisoners having many of them hand her their id numbers on sheets of paper, hoping as she was an American she could give word back to their families they were still alive. Then once she got to the end of the line she handed all the sheets of paper over to a guard.

Then once she got to the end of the line she handed all the sheets of paper over to a guard. It is, apparently, true. I don't know if she ever confirmed it, but I don't think she denied it. When I saw who spoke at that rally yesterday, I was disgusted. Could they find more discredited people? Doubt it. I also knew that RP would post it, since every other piece of news going on in politics is killing his worldview. At least she is aware of her negative impact, Sensitive to the old wounds, she made it a point to thank the active-duty service-members, veterans and Gold Star mothers who attended the rally. She drew parallels to the Vietnam War, citing "blindness to realities on the ground, hubris ... thoughtlessness in our approach to rebuilding a country we've destroyed." But she noted that this time, veterans, soldiers and their families increasingly and vocally are against the Iraq war.
Concrete Charlie 0 Posted January 29, 2007 Jane, you were useful in Barbarella, crawling around on hands and knees, but that's about all, okay doll? All of those hollywood types, those self inflated patriots....what a freakin' joke. Their egos must be very heavy to drag around. Like someone already said here, their political grandstanding only helps the opposite side of the debate. Robbins and Sarandon, Penn, Fonda, and the rest: You come off just like the scary 'miracle workers' asking for money on TV. But even as foolish as those idiots are, they don't show up at public protests. Go hide yourselves in a movie and leave real life to us, the people who live it. Get lost.
