donhaas 18 Posted February 20, 2007 I'm suprised in all this OSU bashing, not one person brought up the fact that Oden was hurt to start the season and hadn't been back very long before playing Wisc. No worries, it will all come out if they are better or worse this weekend. A couple people said that osu shouldn't be ranked ahead of the Badgers because they lost to them and they have a worse record. If that's "bashing," than so be it. No worries, it will all come out if they are better or worse this weekend. So? Should we not count their losses because a guy was hurt? Should the 3 games they lost, including getting beat by 2 teams they are ranked higher than now...not count?
KSB2424 3,148 Posted February 20, 2007 Such a retarded remark. I could just as easily say that if Indiana played in the SEC or PAC 10 they would be undefeated, let alone that WI would be. Have you ever heard of Strength of Schedule? It is common knowledge that from top to bottom the ACC and Pac-10 have by far the toughest conferences. OSU and Wisconsin are great teams, but lets not forget they play a much weaker conference schedule than the Pac-10 and ACC teams do. Common sense would tell you that if their SOS was stronger it is a probable assumpion that Wisconsin would have more than two losses. It is "retarded" to assume that if Indiana played a tougher conference schedule they would have a better record.
KSB2424 3,148 Posted February 20, 2007 I think Bomani Jones from ESPN's Page 2 say's it best here: "The Big Ten has the top two teams in both polls, Ohio State and Wisconsin, and those teams will square off Sunday in Columbus. And the conference should thank itself for the most blah No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup in recent memory. Because the Big Ten has no other ranked teams, both schools have gotten fat off inferior competition. In fact, top-ranked Ohio State hasn't beaten a team all year that's ranked in this week's polls. Behind them are the Badgers, a team with only two players averaging double figures in points, and no one pulling down more than 6.1 rebounds a game. Blah. Has there ever been a more lackluster matchup of No. 1 vs. No. 2? Sorry, but this ain't one of those mid-'80s Georgetown-St. John's clashes, nor will it be exciting if they face off again in the Big Ten tournament. Not even Greg Oden can make this any more exciting than it is. Or isn't." http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/index

Sho Nuff 720 Posted February 21, 2007 Hey...they are still #1. Ehh...I just wanted to see it once in my life...and now I have. I did not want them going into the tournament as the #1 overall team...still can be a #1 seed with a win over OSU though. Tough game...that bald focker was knocking down everything he threw up...and Tucker was just too content to jack up 3's rather than work the rest of the offense. And Taylor was surprisingly quiet tonight. Bo has some work to do...nice to see Landry stepping up and playing big for a stretch though.

rallo 136 Posted February 21, 2007 i was really impressed with mich state... they came firing right out of the gate (i think they went up 9-0) then held them off.... definately one of those teams that could be dangerous in the tourney

It seems every othre year they exit in the 1st round. Hopefully this year is different
