Rusty Syringes 478 Posted June 5, 2007 The Feelies Had they come out today, they'd be one of the biggest groups in the world. "Time For A Witness" is one of the greatest albums ever, and they broke up right after that.

No cares in the world, except how high an air I could boost. :memories: I've got to find their CD's somewhere soon.

BiPolarBear 485 Posted June 6, 2007 brian setzer Oh, yeah. He plays hollowbody Gretsch guitars with Bigsby tremelo bars. The unwanted string hum from one of those hollowbodies on stage is very hard to control and the Bigsby units pull your whole guitar out of tune. Brian manages to DANCE while he plays a lead and sound great at the same time. Don't ask me how.

Don't ask me how. i'm fairly younger so i knew him first playing for the brian setzer orchestra... and i thought it was a fairly gimmicky BS swing band type thing, but my brother who's 33 showed me some stray cat stuff and he can flat out wail... then i've seen videos of him live... and yes he dances/sings/ wails at the same time... unbelievable... a lot of respect for his talent

football_scooter 0 Posted June 6, 2007 meh...they're a wanna be Cars with less talent and somehow even less stage presence. If you define "underrated" as "not complete sh!t and if I had a couple quarts of high gravity in me I might enjoy it for 27 seconds" then indeed - they are quite underrated. football_scooter 0 Posted June 6, 2007 who? The gay band on David Letterman in the link by the OP. They're suppossed to be the most underrated band evah...the flinkees or freedles or whatever the fock their name was. I didn't see your post until just now...agreed 100% about Stray Cats being underrated. Very talented trio. It takes a hell of a drummer to get that much backbeat out of a snare and crash symbol. Setzer is tremendous - he's WAY better now than he ever was when I saw the Stray Cats back in the day.
MDC 7,432 Posted June 6, 2007 Hard to pick one but I guess I'd say the Stooges. "Funhouse" is still one of the best punk albums of alltime and they recorded it in 1970 - before the Ramons, the Pistols or the Clash. Without them there'd be no grunge and they're one of the forefathers of all "alternative rock" too. Extremely underrated band when you consider the scope of their influence. I lived in the house that organized a block party every year at Ohio University. We got OAR to play at our party in 1999. We had friends at Ohio State that were friends with guys in the band. It was a very good show.

He's the master of the surf guitar, and is also a tremendous player who's got a great clean sound. He plays around small clubs...I've seen him a couple of times now. Really enjoyed both of his shows.
