I have e mailed my cheat sheet to Da Bomb. Time permitting, he will take care of posting picks or get them to one of you in case he is unable to do so. Thanks again Bomb for all the help. Just think how quiet it will be without me for most of the day. LOL.

some quick thoughts..........

great value by the captain at 2.9 with steve smith and 4.9 with brady........i liked the TJ pick at 3.5....it was toss-up basically for him and MJD at my 3.3 but i went with mjd based on upside and scoring capability at the goal line...deuce was good value at 4.2...so was benson at 3.1....a johnson at 4.8

picks i really disliked....brandon jacobs at 2.7...i really think he is overrated and won't live up to anywhere near second round value....mosst at 4.1....yes the great randy moss.....i just think he has lost his will to be a star in the league...jamal lewis at 4.7....a washed up shell of himself running behind a porous line with a rook qb....there were other options that were better there at rb....not so much parker at #5...i just have him 10th this year and would have taken addai/westbrook/ s alexander over him

Yeah, its these picks that I won the no hassle league with a few years back when people were astonished that I took Javon Walker and McNabb "too early". My gut is always better than the accepted "lists".

Another good example is everyone trying to talk me out of taking Bmore Def in IBL last year "too early" all they did was win most of my games for me. I like my analysis best  ;)

I like the corner JScott! Mcnabb's health sounds real good and ward still has impact in him. i expect his TD's to go way back up this year.

I have a 2 hr. meeting between 9-11 Central. There is a ways to go till my pick, but you can expect me back right at 11:00 to catch up and select. I'm always logged on so it looks like I'm here, but I won't be till 11:00.

OK.....just to clarify:

After ICE picks (no pun intended), Clash is going to text his pick to Dan, then Da Bomb should show up and pick for Lou, and then I've got Solo's pick.......

Ah, the June Mock. It takes a village......

Solid, yes. But let's not go overboard. Benson is a risk as he hasn't stayed healthy or carried the full load to this point in his career, and McNabb has played a full season when? Even as much as I like Ward, he doesn't come without question marks.

This is a good team, but I wouldn't throw in the towel quite yet.

:dunno: remote & Fumble

Yeah, I feel real good about this turn (Ward/McNabb). I explained my thoughts on Ward in the 4th Round Commentary, being one of three WRs that I hoped would fall to me.

As for McNabb at 5.01 - Yes, the injury concerns are there, but I have him in my 2nd tier of QBs and he was the last available. If he had been gone I probably would have just waited on QB. But last season I felt that he would be playing with a chip on his should after the TO departure and would be one of the top QBs. Well some people may forget due to the success of Garcia, but McNabb was absolutely lighting it up (#1 QB) before he got hurt. And going into this season I think the chip is even bigger; since he didn't finish the season he didn't exorcise (sp?) the TO ghosts completely plus he needs to overshadow the Garcia hangover. McNabb is my #3 QB, behind Manning and just behind Brady. :(

OK Dan.....time to text Clash and then we'll hope that Da Bomb shows up soon.

A little early on Branch, I think, but when it's the fifth round and you have no wide receivers on the roster as of yet, guess you gotta take the top one on your board in a league where we start three of them.

Branch was the next available WR on my board after Ward, but he's in the next tier. I'm just glad Ward made it to me or else I would have been forced to take Branch. I'm :( about Ward late in the fourth, but would have been :dunno: about Branch early in the fifth. Nothing wrong with Branch here in the 5th, just not exciting.

Ward is a big risk. He needs Ben to come back ina big way, he was mostly a boat anchor on the teams where I had him last year.

i personally love deion branch this year. if any of you know nan's breakout WR theory, he fits it to a T (though i think he has before as well, to be fair). the key for me is djax being gone and branch already last season at the end starting to morph into what looked like the go-to receiver in seattle. seattle has a system that produces really good fantasy WRs. the last three years, djax has 9-7-3-10 TDs. the 3 year was his injured year, but otherwise he averaged about 1100/9 a season. and during that injured year, joe jurevicus put up 700/10 in 12 starts. im very high on branch personally this year. i am surprised to see him go already and hope thats not normal. i got him at 6.4 in jetdoc mock and was very pleased indeed.

Lou is piling up a monster team in my eyes. Anytime you can get a guy that scored 16 TDs last year in the fifth round, you've got yourself a bona fide steal.

The Captain can sure pick 'em (although doesn't it seem he's always getting the best spots to pick from in this draft)

well, i think i will be more happy with capn's pick here than he. he had a hard time taking brady at 5.4 knowing he needed a 2nd RB still, and he quite wanted marshawn lynch, ahman green, or marion barber... but barber a distant third, as how it seemed. i personally thought he was defintiely the best back on the board at the time and also one of the best upside RBs left.

reports seem to point toward barber being the guy in dallas this year. hes going to get double digit TDs. he alraedy got 850 yards last year. so even if he just gives a repeat of last year's performance, he comes out to be a very solid reliable RB2. if he starts getting more touches and ends up with 1000 or 1200 yards instead to go with his 12+ TDs, then hes going to be top 10-15 for RBs.

with lou's team, he already has his #2 QB (brady) and #2 WR (smith) plus frank gore and roy williams. taking brady left him gambling at RB, but it was a gamble he was willing to take having his QB and WRs looking so good. and i personally think barber is as steady of a RB2 as pretty much any other back since the early 3rd, so it is a good gamble to take at this point with such a solid start elsewhere.

kitna?! holy cow. that is a shocker to me. thats a full round before i wouldve expected. i definitely see the potential, but thats awfully early for a QB who has thrown 20+ TDs only three times in his ten year career. QBs dont seem as valuable as having kitna already going here. i guess i was wrong about bulger in the 4th, looks like he wouldtn have made it back. i just think its crazy seeing the QBs fly already.

This isn't the JetDoc mock.....QBs go faster in this draft.

Sounds like you've really changed your tune on Barber. You were all over that pick when I made it a week or two ago.

yeah its true on barber. i looked into that situation a lot and did some better research, and it looks like ~otherdallasrb~ is really digging himself a hole that will be hard to get out of. i had assumed he was the default starter, but barber is more talented. i think with both barber and maroney, i love both on a talent standpoint because im a minnesota (univ) homer, so i have really tried too hard to temper my expectations. when i looked back more closely, im still being careful with obvious ?s on both, but they both look like really good upside bets where their ADP is, especially barber. someone drafting in the 1-4 hole can start with a superstud RB, then go WR-WR or WR-Gates, and then use barber as a rb2 in the 4th and have a really dynamic start. that lou added brady's value on top of it was just outstanding in my eyes.

Due to the start 3 WR format I put a little more of an emphasis on getting my WR2 earlier than normal.

But in regards to the latest WR run, I believe the TE availability may have something to due with it :(

Agreed.

But so are QB's.

I think this attests to the value of our little cabal here. The inexperienced "rafter" blindly consumes RB's as though there is some unwritten rule that they must be taken as a priority, even over a decent WR or QB.

What we are observing here, IMHO, is people who understand how to evaluate the available players, their current construct, and how the draft is proceeding. To me, this draft is demonstrating good creativity and decision-making overall. :(

Fie on you!!! Jerious Norwood was supposed to slide into the sixth. :(

This is why I take them before there's a chance of straying.

yes, the WRs are certainly going faster than im used to seeing. lou had reggie brown and lav coles as his top WRs available for 5.4 but i told him i thought that was too early there. maybe WRs will be off the board sooner than i had expected. interesting to see the contrast from jetdoc mock. reggie brown went at 5.12 there, and i thought that seemed a tad early even then.

No, that plan sounds good. His next pick will probably not come up until about then.
