Pac Man would love to play for Dallas

Recommended Posts

Good Grief, all off field crap behind

How is it behind him? The guy hasn't learned from any of his previous mistakes, why so quick to assume he's learned now?

IMO...Goodell needs to do something.

This is getting a bit ridiculous.

Not to defend Pac at all (as others claim I have done...just cleared up some misinformation that was being spread)...but other guys have come and gone off of their suspensions...like Chris Henry (who focked up and got in trouble again).

Pac Man has actually been pretty quiet as far as having any more issues...I believe most...if not all of his issues have been settled (other than a civil suit in Vegas?).

But he was suspended for a year correct? It has been that year...the year is up. Yet he is still not reinstated.

Im not mad because its effect on Pac Man...but Goodell is screwing the Titans. If he is reinstated it would be much easier for them to get a pick.

Then I hear John Clayton this morning speculating that he hears if the deal goes down, Goodell may not lift the suspension right away...but would allow Jones to work out in the Dallas facilities (something he has been banned from with the Titans since the suspension started...while Chris Henry got to go to training camp and play in the preseason).

I just don't think he is consistent right now with some of these suspensions.

So I just scanned the last couple pages of this thread. Am I to understand most Cowboy fans actually support this move? Really? Interesting. There were weak rumors that the Packers might be interested and that thought horrified me. Sometimes I find sports to be so fascinating in terms of how people react to it in society. It's like anything goes as long as it helps my team. I wonder if there's a line to be drawn somewhere. Interesting...

They really want to love this guy.

If Pacman is reinstated the new policy is a joke. I think he will miss at least the first 4 games of this year.

I think it depends on the price that is paid. If my Cowboys get him for a mid to late round draft pick and structure his contract so that it's incetive based then I'm all for it because we wont have much involved.

If we have to give up a hefty pick and pay him alot to boot then no, it's certainly not worth the risk, and there is risk involved definately.I just think you have to weigh the pro's versus the cons and decide if the risk is worth the potential reward. We all know he's a bonehead but how much more of a bonehead is he really than alot of the other NFL players?

Is it really a surprise? Cowboy fans still love and defend Irvin and he stabbed a Cowboy teamate in the neck. And if I had to watch that secondary try to cover people I might just get behind bringing in Pac-Man too.

Just off the top of my head. Pacman went to a strip club the night before he met with Goodell and then a few monthe later he punches out his lawyer at a strip club. This sounds like a guy who is trying to earn his way back into the NFL.

Oh, I don't know about that. If he's served his suspension, he should be allowed back. But I wonder how deplorable a person has to be before the fans say "I don't care if he helps the team. He's a dispicable person. I don't want him." Or better to say, at what point does it become impossible to rationalize that he's really not that bad? I had thought maybe we had pushed the envelope as far as it could go with Barry Bonds. Bonds looks like a boy scout compared to Pac Man. It always fascinates me just how seriously people take their sports sometimes.

The lawyer thing...got a link to any charges or proof of anything?

Doubt it...care to actually think it may not have gone down the way it was first portrayed?

There were plenty of supposed issues with Henry too...yet there he was...practicing and later reinstated.

Again...that he would possibly immediately allow Jones to participate in the Cowboys offseason stuff is out there.

I did not like the rumors to GB either.

But its less about the off the field stuff (hell, if there is a place in the league with less chances for him to fock up...Green Bay would be that place)...but he also killed that Titans locker room.

I do not doubt the rumor, the fact that he was in a strip club violated his terms of returning, and he should not be back for game one.

Many Cowboy fans really want this to happen and for what? The chance to say the team they chose to cheer for won a Super Bowl.

I always hear how talented Pacman is but no one mentions that the Titans were a better team without him. There is a reason the Titans don't want him back.

If they trade for him, they had better win it. You go out of your way to bring in thugs as hired guns to win a SB and lose and you look even more foolish. And considering they can't seem to win in the playoffs and Pacman does nothing to address their shortcomings in the playoffs, I don't get this move at all. Pacman is a disgrace, and so is any team that brings him in.

The way I see it, Dallas' failures have not been due to a lack of tallent. Usually when teams lose games they expect to win in the playoffs they go out in the offseason and look to address those issues. Adam Jones does nothing to address their problems.

This is a guy who held out as a rookie and traded jabs with his teammates in the press before even signing. If by chance Pacman manages to keep out of trouble for a season, he's a lock to come back expecting to get PAID for his efforts. Seems to me they have a lot riding on this clown bringing them over the top.

They already welcomed Tank Johnson and his arsenal to Dallas, so why not?

Hey, you guys could use a WR too, Chris Henry is very available. Odell Thurman would be a nice score at inside linebacker.

Romo should be fully exposed for what he is in a few years too..just in time for Vick's comeback. Who better then Jerry Jones to give the man his first 2nd chance?

What a focking joke.

Just accept that there are 2 different type people in this world.

People like Joey Gladstone are closed minded and believe that people that make mistakes should never be afforded forgiveness or given chances at redemption.

Then they are people like Jerry Jones and Jesus that believe people should be given chances at redemption. They believe in forgiveness.

I can't prove that either viewpoint is the correct one to take, but I can accept that these 2 viewpoints exist.

Gladstone? Crys about everything regarding Dallas.

Redemption? It's not about redemption. Jerry Jones doesn't care about "forgiving Pacman". He cares about winning. If Pacman works out....good. If not, so what. It's worth the risk.

Who's crying? I'm glad you guys are bringing him in. You may not be able to win playoff games anymore, but the entertainment value is always high in big D.

Here's the latest situation....

http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true

In Summary - - Cliff Notes

Goodell at table with Jones and Chiefs owner Clark Hunt at SMU function. PacMan needs to speak in a mature way - Goodell encouraged to some extent as of late - If he continues good behavior he will be considered for reinstatement before the season - His trade status has nothing to do with Goodell -

and this is from Jerry Jones -

Jerry Jones said negotiations with Tennessee are "kind of dormant," with no substantial talks since the league meetings two weeks ago. Jones expected to have gotten something done then.

"I don't want to say that it's dead, but I used the term 'it has no energy,"' he said. "I always feel the longer something drags on you diminish the chances of it happening. You get a lot of visibility about it with no movement. You are just down the road. ... But I don't totally dismiss it at this time."

Adam Jones has made it clear he'd like to return with the Cowboys, not the Titans. It's a good fit because the Cowboys need a cornerback and a kick returner, and because the club has often given second chances to troubled players. The latest reclamation project was Tank Johnson, who signed during this past season while he was still suspended.

Take it for what it's worth. I could still see this happening.

dunno. i'm making $60K+ a year working about 20 hours a week while going to school. i've hired legal immigrants from mexico, hoduras, peru, argentina, albania, england, ireland, france, sicily, bulgaria, hungary, russia, georgia, the ukraine, iran, turkey, jordan, both koreas, south vietnam, canada, south africa, kenya, tunisia, and even a guy from casablanca, morocco (i'm sure you've seen the movie). that's just off the top of my head--the nightclub business rocks. don't talk to me about immigration policy. i have to deal with it daily.

on the job front, i don't have a lot of competition. so what do you do for a living, since you obviously have to compete with people who can't speak english?

(but wait--i shouldn't ask you questions, since you refuse to answer them.)

Hang on buddy, let me think of a cool pretend life to compete with your pretend life. The fact that you are bragging about it on a fantasy football website makes it ALL the more believable too.

I bet you can bench like 400 lbs and almost killed 4 guys in a bar fight once?
