Speaking of instant addiction:

 

 

I remember the first time I did coke. It was at my first apartment. Kinda shiity neighborhood. I was in a 4-plex. Dude next door was a drug dealer (didn't know). He wanted to make sure I was cool (I figured out after the fact) so he invited me over for beers one night. Then he brings out coke and lines it up. hell, I'm 22, I'm from the burbs, I don't know jack. I did the coke.

 

 

And it felt so good I knew I could never do it again or become instantly hooked. It's a feeling - a realization - unlike I've ever had.

 

 

 

About 15 years later, I fell in with a crowd that did coke. Bad crowd. I'm not talking bikers, All were professionals during the week, but just a bad dysfunctional crowd. I did coke a few more times (okay maybe half a dozen or more times). Really never cared for it one way or the other. Never really got much out of it - even doing some monster lines. I did one about as thick and long as my pinky one time. Even the dealer of the crowd was Never even phased me.

 

Dunno. Maybe it's a brain chemistry thing. Dunno. X does nothing for me either.

 

In a way, it's a drag. But in a much better way, it's a blessing. Never should have gotten near that shiit.

I honestly think addiction is a lot like cancer.

 

I mean, some people can smoke a pack a day every day and never get cancer. Others can smoke for a year and get it.

 

Same with addiction. I think my brain's wired differently then some others when it comes to coke/meth. Just doesn't do anything for me. Booze? Yeah. Weed? Yep. Just not this stuff. Given my history and experiences, I can definitely understand how some people can get hooked instantly.

 

Moral of the story - It's like Russian Roulette - it's just not worth the gamble. If you haven't tried it, don't. If you've tried it and use occasionally, stop. Just because you're not hooked now doesn't mean you won't be in the future.

A couple of thoughts here…

 

Crank and Meth are basically the same thing. (or can be - several terms are used interchangably in the drug world). Crank tends to be the bathtub meth that was predominate early in its expansion. After the government crackdown on the components out here in the farmlands, most of it now comes up the old fashioned way from Mexico, which can be cleaner but more potent. (e.e Ice and Steam).

 

I think there is an addiction different between X, Weed, Hallucegen's and the amp drugs like Meth, Coke and Crank. Both certainly have addictive properties. But the former tend to be psychologically addictive, as my many weed habited friends can attest. A craving for a mindset. Meth is addictive in a much more physical way.

It's complete bs that you are hooked from the 1st try. Having waded into this crap in order to reach a friend and get him out 10 years ago. I can tell you exactly what it is that they are referencing. If you go on a 14+ hour binge, the come down is power bad. M-stage Bone Cancer bad- weed and other drugs help but the one sure way to instantly solve it is to take more. Once you start though, it does two things, it changes your brain chemistry and socially you develop new "friendships" with other people that stay up for days on end and lose contact with those that don't. The stuff is naaasty, and I encourage no one to ever try it. It's a good buzz I guess, but not even worth it.

 

The Saliva stuff is funny, a bit of an overreaction I'm guessing. They sell it here in the headshops…It's been around forever. I thought it was funny that they told them to call the cops, good plan, call em on your own children.

Exactly, nutmeg is hallucinagenic as well. get a whole clove and munch it down. You'll hallucinate all right, but along with that you'll have a he11 of a headache. It's not much fun. Never done Saliva, but from what I've read about it, it's really not a "fun" hallucinogen either. Yes, you'll trip, but it's apparently not a social drug, so it'll never be popular enough to worry about. Plus...

 

It's basically Sage! Which is a very important and tasty herb...
