okay guys if i mention you below i think you would be a fine representative for fftoday in the league...we need 5 more players and 3 alternates to complete the 2008 roster.....so attention any of the following guys......if you are possibly interested in participating in the greatest of all fantasy leagues..

basic rules follow as below....PPR is still up for discussion and may be implemented for 2008

 

the season roster size is 18 players of your choice (any mix). There is NO disabled list spot, so if you have an injury, you're out of luck.

 

We start 1 QB, 1 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1K, 1 D/ST and 1 flex (RB/WR/TE) each week. You have only ONE starting lineup for all the games you play that week.

 

The regular season lasts 13 weeks. You will play four head-to-head opponents each week. You only submit ONE starting lineup for all of the games you play each week. Your score for that lineup is compared to the other teams' scores that week, and you record wins, losses and ties based on those matchups.

 

You will NOT face anyone from FFToday during the regular season.

 

Each win in the regular season is worth one point, each tie is worth .5 points, and each loss is worth zero points. Based on your regular season records, the top 20 teams using regular season records will make it into the top playoff bracket, the next 20 teams in the middle playoff bracket, and the bottom teams in the lowest playoff bracket. You will play five other teams in your bracket during weeks 14-16, and four other teams in your bracket during week 17.

 

Each win in the top bracket is worth 2 points (1 point for a tie), each win in the middle bracket is worth 1.5 points (.75 points for a tie), and each win in the bottom bracket is worth 1 points (0.5 points for a tie).

 

At the end of the contest (after week 17), the total points based on the regular season and playoff records are added up for all teams from each board. The board with the most total points wins the Challenge.

 

Offensive Scoring

1 point for every 10 yards rushing or receiving

1 point for every 25 yards passing

6 points for every TD rushed or received

4 points for every TD passed

2 points for every two-point conversion rushed or received

1 point for every two-point converstion passed

1 point for every extra point kicked

3 points for every FG less than 50 yards kicked

4 points for every FG greater than 50 yards kicked

 

NO subtraction for INT's or fumbles, NO points per reception.

 

 

Defensive/Special Teams Scoring (as of right now)

6 points for every return/turnover/blocked kick TD

2 points for every safety

2 points for every fumble/INT recovery by D/ST

2 points for every blocked kick

1 point for every sack

10 points for less than two TOTAL points against.

7 points for 2-3 TOTAL points against.

5 points for 4-7 TOTAL points against.

3 points for 8-13 TOTAL points against.

2 points for 14-17 TOTAL points against.

1 point for 18-21 TOTAL points against.

0 points for more than 21 TOTAL points against.

5-10 boards will compete for the Championship in 2008. Each board will have twelve team members.

 

Five separate 12 team drafts consisting of two or three members from

each board. Once you are assigned your draft position, and draft A and B begin, you may trade into,or out of any draft with any team owner. You may trade with members from your own board, but must show close to equal value or the board of commissioners may rescind the deal. You may trade any combination of picks, and or players. Keep good records of picks you have traded out of. You will be expected to make selections on behalf of the owner you traded the pick to, as well as make a comment.

For instance: Selection made for Captain Lou via trade. It is up to all of us to keep track of our moves as well as post the trades on the league message boards where both teams must accept the offer for all to see. If

you can hose a team owner from another board, it's his tough luck.

 

Since there are five separate drafts, there will be five copies of every player drafted as well as on the waiver wire. No team can own more than ONE copy of any given player.

 

Although we draft individually, the overall goal here is to win as many games for our board as possible. We each will play one team from each of the other boards every week. we will not have to play against members from our board. Points earned will accumulate every week and totals for each board will be posted in order to give us our league standings.

 

After the regular season which I believe is 14 weeks, we then are broken down into three brackets based on wins and losses with tie breakers. You can win the regular season and still lose. The playoffs run until the end of the NFL season which is week 17. The points continue to be added during the playoffs much like the regular season. Each team will earn individual points for playoff performance in order to determine the winners of eack bracket. But all of these points are still added to total team points. We must win in the post season as well ,in order to win the Championship for FFtoday.

SigEp retired from these boards...although I have it on very good authority that he plans on participating in the fftoday dynasty league this year...but his new job has forced him down to only 3 leagues, so I don't think he could represent.

I would welcome the opportunity to be included in this, especially if it helps this Board and site as I am a believer in it!! I too would like to know the date of the draft and when it will be held as I have 2 other Leagues to consider.

 

I will check in often to view your progress and who is chosen. I would love to be the "Defensive Team" specialist!!

There have been 5 drafts the past few years, 12 owners per board and 12 teams per draft means that there will be the equivalent of 1 draft per board (once we figure out how many boards will be participating we'll know how many drafts there will be), but there will be owners from each board in each draft.

 

Drafts usually take about 2 weeks, and they've started the last week of July, the first week of August, and a week before or after (I forget which).

 

But there is an immense amount of trading going on during the drafts. It's not uncommon to end up with picks in all the drafts. My personal high is about 15-20 trades before the drafts are done, and a few FFTers have been up to 30 or so.

No, it really is a great group of guys, and it's a lot of fun. It does require working together, even when we don't agree . . . typically about rankings and such.

 

Before this thread, we had just enough guys show interest to cover the slots on the team, and that was before we lost Voltaire. Given the losses from last year, it was important to make noise on the board to ensure that we were getting a good sounding.

 

I'm pumped. And now we need to get the rest of the team together.
