Belushi 9 Posted July 3, 2008 It's been five months and poor little Drama Queen hadn't heard or seen his name out there enough. Had to do something didn't he???I've NEVER seen a player more desperate for attention than Brett Favre. What exactly did he do genius? All he did was say that these were all rumours. Someone else started it. Man, you people are sad. You jump all over some internet rumour and treat it like facts. Pathetic.
Law 251 Posted July 3, 2008 What exactly did he do genius? All he did was say that these were all rumours. Someone else started it. Man, you people are sad. You jump all over some internet rumour and treat it like facts. Pathetic. Yeah! Cause there's no history of Favre playing the media, the fans, everyone for attention before right? Will he come back or not? Who knows? But there's smoke, there's fire. Especially given the history. Oh yeah, and less you're in England, Canada, or somewhere...we drop the "u" in America! donhaas 19 Posted July 3, 2008 I just don't get all the hubbub.... Yes, division rivals -- Bears fans, Vikes fans, Lions fans -- who haven't had a good quarterback in about a combined 75 years will and overcompensate and make a big deal.... but rightfully so... they've been Favre's beoitch for almost 2 decades.... The rest of you... Really? I have lost :snotbubble all respect :snotbubble for him Give it a rest... Who cares? If McNair wanted to all of a sudden come back... guess what??? I wouldn't care..he'd have the same amount of respect he's always had with me... When Jordan came back, I laughed... but I didn't care.... The only person who should be crying right now is Aaron Rodgers.... the rest of you -- I know off-season is slow -- should ease up on the whining.... If you hate him, hopefully he'll come back and make a fool of himself If you like him, hopefully he'll come back and lead the Packers to another Super Bowl
Law 251 Posted July 3, 2008 I wouldn't expect a Favre fan to see what everyone sees. Fans have a way deluding themselves like that. It's not "crying" to say you've lost respect for a player who drags out his retirement for years and then once retired, hints at dragging it out even longer. The game, the Packers, the NFL, and its fans are all bigger than that. Bigger than Favre and deserve better, deserve to be free, once and for all, of his antics. It's time to move on. What am I deluding myself of? I've seen thousands of athletes hint at retirement; come back from retirement, etc.... all of that... I just didn't fockin' care. (pardon my French) "Deserve to be free of his antics" is just so freakin' dramatic, too.... It's like a whole soap opera you've concocted... If the Packers, the game, the NFL want to be free of his antics all they have to say is FU. Simple as that. Look, I understand it's off-season. But this is a non-story.... 'cept for Norris fans and Aaron Rodgers. It's the whiners and the cryers that make it a story....
Law 251 Posted July 3, 2008 Even granting the lack of "scientific results" from ESpins polls (poorly worded online polls with limited participation), their current numbers show some interesting things. "What do you think of a possible Brett Favre comeback?" 3 of the 4 available answers are "negatives" to Favre's return. 1/3 are for it and 2/3s are not. "Do you want Brett Favre to come back?" 60-40 no.

Hey, Favre's an indecisive guy. He'll either play or he won't. Personally, i like the guy and would be happy to watch him play on Sunday's, but if he doesn't I'm certainly not gonna lose any sleep over it. I don't see why it's such a big deal to everyone, unless maybe if you're a Packer fan.
Phurfur 70 Posted July 3, 2008 well, a true packers fan isnt going to start hating favre....a real fan or someone who has lived here throughout his career KNOWS that he has a fire unlike many others...he shouldve missed games several times with injuries... i went to lambeau the day he retired and if u listened to what he said..you KNEW he left the door wide open...80% of the people i talked to knew he would be back... and who the fock cares about aaron rodgers? whats going through his mind right now? probably..cool...Im close to getting paid BIG money again to do nothing but play video games til the wee hours...you know what you got yourself into coming here and he couldve left by now.. why would he? he is getting paid good money just to practice with the 2nd unit...not a bad gig...had he been drafted by the niners, he would be on his way out of the nfl by now... like i said way back when...how are they gonna retire favres jersey when hes in the huddle? rip it off of him?...condolences to my friend who spent good $ on that opening weekend game..thinking that was the retirement day..i tried to warn him I've been a Packer fan longer than you have been alive, I am also a season ticket holder and I am starting to hate Favre. When all the so called haters were calling him a media hog I was the first to defend Favre but I will say it now "YOU WERE RIGHT AND I WAS WRONG" If he comes back or not this just all part of his BS game. I am ready for Rodgers to take over! I am excited about Rodgers taking over! Rodgers is the future, Favre is the past. Retire reptile! I say if he wants to come back let him be the back up or trade him. What a bunch of crap.

As for the ensuing media storm surrounding the story, Favre said in a text message to the newspaper: "No reason for it." /end.thread

Actually Al Harris, the fudgepacker CB, said the over-rated drama queen said he was itching to come back. So you are saying Al Harris is a liar? Umm...ok. I guess betty should be given the benefit of doubt because God knows he has never talked about retirement for the last focking 10 years.... I hope he comes back. BMoney 0 Posted July 3, 2008 Yeah that's why the over-rated drama queen has not yet filed his retirement papers. What a selfish douche bag!! Me, me me me me .... why does he have to hurry and file his papers? and considering that 2 years ago, he received an ipod as a gift from his daughter brittany but he left it in the box until the following year..cuz he said he had no idea how to use it.. i doubt that he texted anyone to say its a rumor..brett doesnt know how to text people.. the 3 rumored teams were minny, tampa and kc..but theres no way gb trades him...if anything, they ignore his request.. though it would be tempting to bring in picks..(though it would be a PR night mare) can u imagine if the bears had a qb this good? what would chicago be thinking about all of this?.. The Moz 71 Posted July 3, 2008 Why wouldn't Green Bay release him if they don't want him?? The Man is the greatest player in GB History - Greater than Starr , Horning , etc. Practically carried the franchise for years an he wants to comeback and you not only tell him no we don't want you - but hey we aren't letting you go anywhere else either! People that are hating Favre becasue of this The guy retired he is 38 and has Started every game since he started actually playing in 1992. It is getting close to playing again and he really misses it - it's fgocking natural - especially when you already know you are still a top 10 if not top 5 talent at Qaurterback! How can ahnyone really fault him for changing his mind even if it is for the 100th time - it's not like he is making up his mind wether he want to buy a black or gray Range Rover he is deciding the rest of his life. Give the guy a focking break.

I also would not be shocked if he did say he had the itch. And I think that is where it went and people ran with it. No real source has confirmed that he said he wanted to come back, or wanted his release. Not one. So, how is this his antics? It is once again the ESPN machine running with a story during a slow time in the NFL. ROCKET 0 Posted July 3, 2008 I didn't think much of this whole thing til I heard some newspaper reporter from Biloxi MS on Sirius radio today. The guy is supposedly a very close friend of Brett's and has been talking with him lately. He said Favre felt like he wasn't treated fairly in GB by the GM and that he thought Favre wanted to play somewhere else in 08. This isn't just some reporter spouting off, he has close ties with Favre. Favre should just come clean and voice his intentions if he really does want to come back. wiffleball 4,797 Posted July 7, 2008 New Articles. AOL Fanhouse & King Link: Peter King of Sports Illustrated has had a long, close relationship with Brett Favre, so when King writes that Favre wants to play in the NFL again, that's an indication that Favre is telling the people close to him that he wants to play in the NFL again. And this is what King writes today: what I can tell you for sure is this: No. 4 wants to play football again, and the Green Bay Packers desperately do not want him to. Will he play? I don't know. I don't think he knows. He has, however, told coach Mike McCarthy he wants to return. So where do the Packers and Favre go from here? According to King, Favre's agent will send the Packers a letter asking them to take him off the NFL's reserve/retired list. By NFL rule, the Packers have no right to keep a player on the retired list if he has said he doesn't want to be on it, so then they'd have to either put him back on their roster or release him. That doesn't mean Favre is coming back. It just means that, if King is right, he doesn't want to completely rule out coming back. Which means we're not done talking about this. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writ...avre/index.html
