parrot 789 Posted January 12, 2009 Are we talking about the same guy who picked up a ridiculously stupid 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty yesterday in a 12 point playoff game with three minutes left to play, turning a third and one into a third and sixteen, ultimately leading to a punt? That's some fine "clutch" QB play there Lou.
NewbieJr 541 Posted January 12, 2009 you and eagles queen compared mcchunk to Romo. i then called your mcchunk, and raised with Aikman. Yeah, I know. And I congratulated you on your team's quarterback from fifteen years ago. If I were you, I'd congratulate everyone on this list, and then worry about what the Cowboys are going to do going forward. Moral of the story is, if you want to throw around the "choke" word, it's probably best if your own team's quarterback is not the worst example of a choke artist in modern NFL history. itsatip

Durtee 0 Posted January 12, 2009 Average teams don't finish in the top 8 in the NFL is offense, scoring offense, defense, and scoring defense. Their defense is one of the top 3 in the NFL right up there with Pittsburgh and Baltimore, and they're playing better than ever right now. Their offense still finished in the top 8 in the nfl in offense and scoring, and that's in spite of some very poor play calling games by Reid. I just think you're underestimating the talent on this team. They absolutely took it to the Giants yesterday. Everyone thought the Giants offensive line and running game could dominate an undersized Eagles front 7, but that was hardly the case. And while McNabb wasn't spectacular, he played 2 quarters throwing in very windy conditions against a very good defense at GIANT stadium. He still finished over 50% passing, led 4 scoring drives, and made some very crucial 3rd down conversions. Did you see the play he made on 3rd and 20?, that was vintage McNabb. He is doing a very nice job of escaping any pressure and putting the ball where it needs to go. Don't sleep on this Eagles team. They got all the momentum and are playing as well or better than anyone. I think this is why guys like phillybear are hating on the Eagles today. The Eagles took it to the Giants yesterday? That would imply that they dominated that game statistically. Total Yards- NYG 307 PHI 276 Passing Yards- NYG 169 PHI 217 Rushing Yards- NYG 138 PHI 59 First Downs- NYG 16 PHI 20 Time of Possession- NYG 30:15 PHI 29:45 Looks like a pretty evenly played game to me. The difference was a few plays in the game. INT by Manning that gave the Eagles the ball 1st and Goal. Poor play calling by the Giants in the 4th quarter and the biggest difference was that McNabb made big throws when he needed to and Eli didn't. Hardely a domination by either team. I certainly don't think the Eagles dominated the game. The Eagles scored touchdowns with their opportunities and the Giants were held to field goals. That's very often the difference when two equal teams play.

phillybear 366 Posted January 12, 2009 I hate miserable fat people. 4 straight years of winning playoff games, but only one SB appearance? I guess Hasslehoff is a choker. He sure choked at Lambeau with a pick 6 in OT. Mcnabb>>>>>>Hasslefuck That's why Mcnabb is playing football next week. CANKLE 4 straight NFC championship games, but only one SB apperance? I guess McNabb is a choker. He sure choked in those two NFC championship games in Philly. Oh, yeah. Seattle didn't lose a playoff game they have been favored in the past couple of years. How about the Eagles.... An Eagles fan calling any other team a choker? Priceless. FACE. Also, curious. Why do you think I'm fat?

Wtf does Cassel have to do with the price of Chunky Soup in China? Newbie wants to talk about the Patriots even in his own thread about the Eagles. Now there's a shocker. I guess it's easier to bring up the Patriots than to address the fact that the guy you're forwarding as one of the all-time great "clutch" Qbs just yesterday committed one of the all-time stupidest moves by any QB, ever, in clutch time of a playoff game. Since we're more concerned with the Patriots than the thread topic; I wonder if Tom Brady might be sitting in a recliner somewhere too, polishing his three superbowl rings, coincidentally the same number of rings as McNabb had picks when the two teams met in the biggest game of McNabb's career. phillybear 366 Posted January 12, 2009 Wouldn't you be miserable if you led the anti-Obama charge and ended up looking foolish, supported a team that ended up 4-12 and with teh fourth overall draft pick next year, and had to watch the Philadelphia Eagles rise from teh dead in week 17 to make this miraculous playoff run? All while realizing that he could have chosen to be a fan of his hometown team, but instead chose a joke of a franchise with a quarterback who's 4-5 lifetime in the playoffs. Hasselbeck finally learned how to avoid his usal playoff chokefest....start choking during the regular season, instead. Bwahahahaha. haha. hee hee TAINT I understand that you are living on food stamps and will be on welfare soon because no one would hire a wiseass like you, but if you want to talk about politics, go to the Geek Bored. So let's get to your SELF QWNAGE in this thread. Has anyone tackled Joe Jurivicius yet, or is he still running? And then McNabb tossed that gaming ending INT vs Tampa Bay. Poor play calling by the Giants in the 4th quarter and the biggest difference was that McNabb made big throws when he needed to and Eli didn't. Hardely a domination by either team. No, that does not mean they dominated the game statistically. Obviously this was a very close game all day until late in the 4th quarter. But they took it to the Giants when they had to in the trenches. The Giants, the best running team in football, were stuffed on many short yardage situations by a "undersized" Eagles front 7. That was the difference in the game. The Giants only punted twice all day. Usually that is a very good offensive day. But the Eagles defense was "bend but don't break" all day, and made the plays when necessary. They forced FG attempt after FG attempt, stopped them on two 4th down attempts in the 4th quarter, and forced 3 turnovers. Obviously it wasn't Eli's best day, but some of that has to be attributed to Jim Johnson's varying defensive looks and schemes. I know this Eagles TEAM has been very jekyl and hyde this season, but that is more attributed to the offense, this defense has been VERY good all year. Top 3 in the NFL good. And now with the offense clicking, this team can be as good as anyone. Or they could revert to poor play calling and lose to a very hot Arizona team. I think if the Eagles play their best game, they will win, but I would never predict it with this team. I'm just going to enjoy the ride, and hope they continue to do what they have been doing. Sure the difference was a few plays in the game, but the Eagles made those few plays. What did the Giants do? Nada. Did you read my post? Because that is pretty much what I said. "McNabb made plays when he needed to" and "Eli didn't". Eagles fans are saying that their team dominated the Giants. Well that would imply that statistically they dominated the game. The Eagles did not dominate the game in the 2nd half. They played better and that is why they won, but nothing about the win was dominating. It's silliness like this that is causing people to hate on the Eagles.
