5 Questions for President's Health Care Press Conference

Recommended Posts

Newbie, when you get all your news from FFtoday, you might miss something. To say the republicans have had no alternatives and have never tried correct healthcare is just flat out wrong. Also, the main point about "alternatives" is having a debate about the legislation in congress...not just ramming through any piece of shiat they come up with as fast as possible.

Really? What are the Republicans ideas to correct the current healthcare system?

Ever heard of tort reform?

But did the previous administration do anything? And do the current naysayers have a better idea or a different suggestion? Of course not. They would have no problem simple allowing the status quo and watch it get worse and worse, all teh while saying they realize it's a problem and something has to be done about it.

While it's obvious I voted for Obama and like the majority of things he's done, I'm still undecided on his health care ideas. I still don't have an understanding of what it would mean for my family from a monetary standpoint, nor do I fully understand what it would mean as far as waiting for tests/treatment. Color me unsold at this point. But I do like teh idea that teh administation is attempting something.

I'd just rather they were doing something right

Just answer these questions: Why the rush? Do you have anything to contradict the CBO report that this plan will actually increase costs and increase the deficit?

Personally I don't know why the rush, but I don't know why we should try to stall either? I hope he'll wait for a good bill if he has too. But it should have been done years ago IMO.

I really don't know about the cost either and I don't want to pretend I'm an expert. I read this: Healthcare reform can pay for itself

Seems like some good ideas, but I'm sure its not that easy.

Our healthcare is definitely expensive but we do get very good care in this country. If you got sick would you seek treatment outside the US? Which country would you prefer?

If you visit another country do you have to take out an insurance policy? If you get hurt while visiting most European countries, they'll take care of you. You can't say the same thing about visiting our country. Also there is no reason for me to go to another country for help, but that's not to say it would be the end of the world if I had to.

Me, too. That's why I'm going to listen and read and make a decision based on my findings, instead of on what some talk show guy representing my party tells me to. It's very liberating. You should try it.

You could say the same thing about education.

And being a country of smoking, drinking, drug using, lazy fatties tends to drive up costs.

I agree. I'll give you fat, but we're not the only country that has problems with smoking, drinking, and drug using. I like what Safeway does for their employees. You're behavior determines your cost and if you work to improve it you will be rewarded.

Tell that to the millions of illegal aliens who are most responsible for focking our system up in the first damn place.

There is a reason why America has the best hospitals. There is a reason why the best doctors from around the world come to America to practice. Most of the major medical breakthroughs the last century? Yup, you guessed it. Red, White, and Blue. There is a reason why if you hurt your knee you can get a MRI the same day and not have to wait days if not weeks.

And that reason is the opposite of what Obama is trying to sell you. Medicaid expounded to everyone? No thank you. I'd much rather you get out of healthcare all together so I can choose what is best for me and my family. Le me deduct it from my taxes at the end of the year. Thank you very much.

1. Can you cite the specific clause in the Constitution of the United States that says healthcare is a right? And if so, can you cite the specific clause in the Constitution that says the Govt has the right to take money from some to pay for the healthcare of others?

2. Can you cite the specific clause in the Constitution that says people who are in this country illegally have a right to free healthcare?

3. How do you explain to the American people that you are pushing a bill that would fine American citizens if they don't buy insurance, but exempt illegal aliens from this fine even though this bill gives them full coverage?

Obama tweets:

"Health care reform opponents scale up attacks, playing politics w/ our lives & livelihood. Fight back."

WTF is wrong with this motherfocker??? There is bi-partisan support against this insane bill you focking lying sack of sh1t. Unbelievable.

I did a search for this tweet on google just a moment ago and the only thing that comes up is a link to Limbaugh. So that is the only source I know of.

Did Rush make this up, or is Obama really this focked in the head??

Just saw on Fooxnewz some of the quotes released that Osama is going to say tonight, and one of them was basically:

'this health care reform will not add a single dollar to deficits'

heh I was just about to hit 'add' and realized...what does he mean deficits? I thought he was going to balance the

budget before his 1st term is over.

My wife/children got relativly high quality care in China when giving birth. Three or four days of hospital visit. Both times it cost me the equivelent of ~$350. That's total cost. ACL repair surgery costs about the same.

The Republicans sh*t on the taxpayers and flooded their money directly into the coffers of the insurance and pharmacudical industry with their health reform bill a few years back.

Where's the lie? :dunno:

I was talking about Obama in general. The guy has lied his azz off.

But in this particular quote, let's just take the 1st few words where he said "Health care reform opponents...." I do not know of a single person who doesn't think health care should be reformed. Just because folks are against THIS bill doesn't mean they are against any and all reform.

Yet for some strange reason when folks in other countries are faced with going somewhere to get the best care in the world, they come here, to the good ol USA. Wonder why that is??

It's all economic factors.

If you're poor, come to China. China knockoff drugs for 1/50th the cost and the doctors/medical staff here are paid sh*t. Costs are easily covered out of pocket. Plane fare sucks though...

If your're rich and money is no obsticle, go from China to the US. You'll get first rate care (actually the secret location is Thailand where they have facilities that cater to foreigners that meet and exceed US standards but at a deep discount). http://www.bumrungrad.com/

Really, Newbie? You're telling someone else to not just agree what their party tells them? BTW, where do you read to get your news. In all honestly, I don't think you read the news very often. You only seem to pick one side and just flame the posters you generally don't agree with...ie RP, FlaHawker, etc.

It was cool to see you actually respond the thread for once today but I guess old habits die hard.

I'm on record as saying I don't know if I'm for or against this health plan yet. I have to hear and learn more about it. I am not a party-hardline guy. I'm not even a Democrat. I voted for George W for crying out loud.

Who cares who you voted for in the past? You've done nothing the past 6 months other than blindly defend Obama like he was the Eagles. All you do is flame and hardly ever address the real issues. It's comical that you'd call someone else out for not thinking for themselves.

And yes, I do flame certain idiots who spend their whole day looking up anti-Obama articles and starting ten new threads about them. They are very funny and deserve to be made fun of.

Also, I've probably started three Obama threads EVER. And I never started an anti-Bush thread. I'm simply in the business of making fun of political losers and Rush Limbaugh-repeaters. They are funny to me. Ha ha funny.

Oh, and I'm ONE OF THOSE POSTERS?

I asked you this the LAST time you flamed me and you admitted I wasn't. So, now you do it again? Either I've somehow moved in to a different category in your mind or you've proven yourself to be a partisan doosh.

 It could be just me, but this does not seem to be going well. He is throwing out some crazy numbers that scare most folks. A couple of questions he did not seem to answer well at all. I missed the first 15 minutes though.

Did he just claim the debt would have been 2.2 trillion more over the next 10 years if Bush's policies would have been continued? He claims he is saving 2.2 over the next 10 years?????????????

HOLY SHIAT! Does anyone believe a word this clown says? :music_guitarred:
