Simms isn't in the HOF and neither is Hostetler. Although Simms has an outside chance. But it doesn't matter because A) Jeff replaced Simms and won the SuperBowl and  The next SuperBowl season when they dropped Hostetler and Simms replaced him he wasn't replacing a HOF QB. Which was the original question.

been my "pet" name for the little guy ever since he first started annoying, which was pretty much the first post of his I read.

Been my "pet" name for the little guy? Dude that's pretty qay. Like really qay. I mean Buckner makes me laugh I will admit that but you just sounded extremely pink triangle.

PS I could care less about Buckner! We have won the World Series so the monkey is off the back! Buckner was just part of the ride.

Revenge? HAs it occured to you that Brady's knee injury was 'revenge' for their 3 unearned rings by the rst of the league? And if it didn't happen in week one, it would have happened in week two. Or three.

Karma's a ######, dude.

Karma is a ######.

That's why Brady and the Pats are going to destroy the rest of the NFL on their way to another SB victory. Payback for week one's cheap shot from Pollard.

Great shot from Pollard - the shot heard around the world baby. Karma is a beeotch, thats why Bradys knee got blasted last year.... just to stick it to the CHEATRIOTS. They deserved every bit of it. Best thing evah.

Im hoping defenses copy the Giants from the Super Bowl two years ago and go after Tom. It was obvious that neither he nor that over-rated O-line could take the heat.

We shall see....

it's cause you're like a kid, or a puppy dog, all happy and over enthusiastic over the slightest thing...except you don't ever seem to grow out of it and won't shut up. you essentially add nothing to any thread except your Pats nob-schlobbing and pom-pom waving. so if it seems a little "ghey", well, in light of your over the top Brady love it seems appropriate as well.

Why do you care so much about what I do? I never give you a second thought. Why don't you actually go read my last few posts replied to? It's not all Pats. Just my topics started usually.

As far as over the top Brady love. I ask. Why do you care? And beyond that I'm pretty sure that I was among the 1st people on this site slobbing over Brady and guess what. I WAS RIGHT! You were wrong! 8 years ago when I came on this site and said "he's the best ever" and "this guy is going to catch Montana in SuperBowls" and "If he ever gets weapons around him he'll put up Peyton numbers".

I was right and you just don't have the balls or the intestinal fortitude to say "you know what. He was right. It might annoy me but he was among the 1st to recognize Brady as a dominant NFL QB."

Either way JGCrapfish stay out of topics I start if you don't like it. I didn't seek your dumbass out so it's that simple. If you don't like it don't read it.

RoadLizard. I disagree. Stephen Neal went down and that was the end of our line. It's not like that Giant Defense wasn't really tough and losing Stephen Neal, combined with Brady's lack of mobility made it very difficult. Sure they couldn't take the heat but it is because they were unalbe to make an injury adjustment.

I mean where do you read this stuff? Over rated O-line? The same O-line that set NFL records? The same line that won 18 games in a row to start a season, something no NFL team has ever done.

Lizard, I'll discuss things with you but why can't you just talk like a normal human being? Why do you always have to be such a tard. Karma is a beeeeeeeeeotch. Cheatriots. Best thing evah. Overated line. blah blah blah.

You sound like Ashton Kutcher not an informed person that knows Fantasy sports.

It really amazes me that so many of you guys come on this site and actually let me bother you. Like you actually waste energy getting mad about a person supporting their team. It's obviously jealousy.

It's odd I never notice Steelers fans hating on Brady and I know a lot of them. Only the usual fans of crappy teams and the fairweather fans, like the Chargers fans.

Now, unless I'm mistaken, the last victory the Pats had in a SB was Feb. 6, 2005. Which means you pretty much joined here at the height of their playing days and started proclaiming "The Pats are the Best...Tom Brady is the Best" when it was fairly obvious to pretty much the entire world. But thanks for that news flash! What's next? "Water is wet and Sky is Blue!" Pretty easy to be right about something that has already happened...you should change your name to BirdBradyBobbyOrrHindsightis2020. But hey, I gotta admit it takes a TON of "balls and intestinal fortitude" to come onto a message board and post that "Tom Brady is great" after he's already great.

I eagerly await your response, in fact, I'm already ready for it.

JG. Let's try to take this down a notch. WE got a whole season and I bet if we actually don't argue we can help each other win and share info throughout the season. Sure my panties were wadded (too funny) but I mean you just come out swinging for no reason. There is a nicer way to call me a dbag homer! LOL

I really only half intended this as a homer post. I mean I do think the Pats are going to dominate this year but what my point was is "They are going to TRY to dominate this year". Not just try to win. Belichick isn't humbled and doesn't care what people think. If they CAN be as good as 2007 they will not run out the clock they will run up the score.

As far as when I joined I'll do what I can to clarify. The rumor is that BeantownBobbyD who was on this site since 2001 and called FootballScooter a pedophile and thus had his membership revoked is me. I can neither confirm nor deny said rumor I will however confirm that I've been a follower of BeantownBobbyD since 2000. He was one of the originals on this site and I've been on this site since the Bledsoe days just not posting as BirdBradyBobbyOrr I had another name that I can't reveal. Picking up what I'm putting down?

Dude I don't take myself that seriously, look at my quote on the bottom. I love that burn from Anaheim Rams.

yeah, we Steelers fans are classly like that!

there's a difference between hating on Brady and despising retahded homers like you. In general, the only more obnoxious or deluded fans than Patriots fans are Cowboys fans. In the Pats fans defense, at least they've been relevant in the last 15 years. But aside from that it's a pretty damned close race for MAFE (Most Annoying Fans Ever). If it weren't for the obvious cheating that help the Pats, I'd really have no beef with the team, other than their over the top fans.

Fair enough, and I'm really not looking to fight (that's what I have FlaHawker for!). And as a Steelers fan, any team that's a threat to my teams success, and therefor their fans, automatically get a little extra piss and vinegar.

And I'll close with this...anybody who called Scooter anything like that is probably A-OK in my book!!! Besides GFIAFP has taken over that title since Scooters departure. Three cheers for the departed BeantownBobbyD !!!

Oh BeantownBobbyD (wink wink) definitely called Scooter that. His rationale was he was trying to lure kids in with Footballs and Scooters.

Also, and I've said this before here is my opinion about the Steelers my 2nd favorite team! Why? My Uncle/Godfather lives in Slippery Rock he has for about 20 years. He races trotters at the Meadows. My cousin went to Slippery Rock U).

The Pittsburgh Steelers are THE premier franchise in NFL History. They have more SuperBowls than anyone and they've had 2 amazing runs, Bradshaw and now Big Ben. The Pats only have one run of winning. They've done it in a medium market through good drafting and roster management and by having a league leading fan base. The region loves football and the Steelers are the premier draw in the entire region. Furthermore if anyone has ever been to Pittsburgh the whole damn city is literally Yellow/Gold. Steelers, Pirates, Penquins colors dominate the landscape. The Steelers do it with Defense and Running and they do it in any weather. If the Patriots are ever going to be the greatest franchise in NFL History they'll have to climb past the Steelers and get at least 6 SuperBowls to do so. If I had to bet on any team to get to 10 first it might be the Steelers (unless Brady wins 3-4 more).

I'm actually gonna be in Slippery Rock the weekend of the 26th. Ever been to the brewery there? And is there any State in the country that loves their regional brews more than Pitt? Every county has their own beer.

When in reality all I want to do is say "THE PATRIOTS RULE. Brady bangs supermodelS with an S! Trust me Giselle is euro and models are into all sorts of stuff. I know it's true because I saw it on TV. Bob Kraft is truly Krafty Bob and Belichick has the greatest fashion sense since Cameo".

I thought Brady was overrated because the line did such a good job protecting him. Wasn't that the story back in '07? Any QB could put up huge numbers when they never got touched?

So is Brady underrated then???

:dunno:

Fridays 3rd game of Preseason against the Redskins may tell everyone what they need to know. Found this article in Manchester Union Leader.

"When you're out there in the third preseason game, you're through those early phases of training camp where you made a lot of those mistakes," Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said. "Now, you're hopefully starting to really get ready for the opener. We're not in a two-a-day schedule anymore so you actually have time to watch film on the opponent you're playing. It's very much like a normal week for us here, in terms of the schedule and film study. I think that's how Coach (Bill) Belichick wanted to approach it this week. He wants to put together a good week and see how we go out and perform." But does a strong performance in Week 3 of the preseason turn into a strong performance in the regular season? Let's check out some recent history:

2008 -- Philadelphia 27, New England 17: A year ago, Brady didn't throw a single pass in the Patriots' third preseason game "" instead, Matt Gutierrez (217 passing yards and two touchdowns) and Matt Cassel (60 passing yards) spent the bulk of the time under center. Many wondered if, after this game, Cassel had lost his job as Brady's primary backup.

One year and $63 million later, Cassel has parlayed the job he kept as Brady's primary backup into a job as the starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Result: Missed the playoffs.

2007--New England 24, Carolina 7: Brady and the Patriots marched down the field in methodical fashion on their second possession, running 18 plays in a drive that stalled inside the Panthers' 10-yard line. Brady threw just six passes on the drive and completed four of them.

The Patriots' offense looked more like the juggernaut it would become on its first drive of the second half. Lining up exclusively in the shotgun, Brady completed four straight passes "" including a 37-yard pass to Donte Stallworth "" before throwing a touchdown pass to Heath Evans in the middle of the field. That was Brady's second touchdown pass of the game "" and he wouldn't throw fewer than two touchdown passes in a game until Week 12 of the regular season.

090827brady200.jpg (THE ASSOCIATED PRESS)

Brady could be counting on more playing time tomorrow at Washington. (THE ASSOCIATED PRESS)

Result: Undefeated regular season and a trip to the Super Bowl.

2006--New England 41, Washington 0: Brady threw for 231 yards and a second-quarter touchdown pass to Ben Watson, and three different running backs "" including first-round draft pick Laurence Maroney "" scored touchdowns in the Patriots' romp. Defensive lineman Mike Wright had two sacks, and Rosevelt Colvin, James Sanders, Johnathan Sullivan, Mike Vrabel and Ty Warren each had one.

The Patriots won the AFC East on the stretch of a defense that held opponents to fewer points than any team but the Baltimore Ravens, holding four opponents to seven points or less.

Result: Lost in the AFC title game to Indianapolis.

2005-- New England 27, Green Bay 3: Corey Dillon rushed for two touchdowns, and three different Patriots intercepted passes: Sanders, Asante Samuel and Randall Gay. The Patriots actually finished the second-worst pass defense in the league (by total yards allowed) and intercepted just 10 passes all season, but the second-best pass offense in the NFL was enough to win the AFC East.

Result: A trip to the playoffs and a second-round loss to the Denver Broncos.

i guess really all that tells us is that if the Pats win tomorrow than they will make the playoffs :pointstosky: but still liked the article so i posted most of it anyway.

So what's your opinion after they struggled against the Bengals?

First, it's preseason. Are you really going to worry about the Patriots offensive line, that has clearly proven itself protecting Brady and Cassell, because of 1 series against the Bengals in the Pre Season? The Patriots have made no substantial changes to their Offensive Line because they know how awesome it is. Don't listen to the nutcases on this site. Just look at the numbers. Sacks allowed, times Brady gets hit, pts scored, passes completed. WINS! The O Line is one of the best in the league. Anyone who says otherwise has an agenda.

Second, they didn't really struggle against the Bengals with Brady in there. One SportsCenter Highlight and people are breakign ankles jumping off the bandwagon.

Brady called a draw play and dropped back to pass. It was a mental error on Brady that got him worked over.

So what's your opinion after they struggled against the Bengals?

You do realize that the starters played 2 series. Right?

The Pats scored (FG) on the first drive and the 2nd drive was the one where Geathers jacked up Brady because of broken down communication by Brady and the line. I hardly think that we should be worried that the line is going to have big troubles this season, nor should we think that all of their problems are solved.
