FLUKE? FLUKE? What was so "fluke" about it. seemed pretty cut and dry to everyone outside of New England. It was 4th and 2 pats go for it. dude boobles the catch by the time he gained possession melvin bullet smashed his ass just short of the first down. Now im not gonna sit here and say that New England isnt a very good team- they are. And im not gonna tell u that Belichick shouldnt have gone for it- he should have. he didnt have a choice.

 

Peyton Manning was in the dudes head. Bill knew that no matter where Peyton started that drive he was gonna score. the last 3 possesions were perfect example of how peyton figured out what bill was throwing at him. he went 80 yards on 2 of the last 3 possessions, both lead to TD's. the only reason the he threw a pic on the second to last drive was a miscommunication between he and Wayne. New England was in a Prevent D, which as we all know prevents nothing but victory. so u say they would have just gone back to their standard 3-4., try to confuse peyton a bit. i say to you go back and watch the last 4 games. The colts dissected them all night. theres a reason colts have won 4 of the last 5 games against NE. Peyton and the Colts have finaly figured them out. The biggest mistake Bill made was not running the ball on 3rd down. had they ran it, they may have made it, if not you have another shot at it, and you would have forced the Colts to call a time out as the clock would keep running.

 

Look we all agree that the Patriots were the best team in the league the first part of the decade, you had a nice run. But the preverbial torch has been passed to the new "team of the decade". Colts win it all this year giving them 2 Super Bowls, 8 division titles, and the winningest record from 2001-2009. they will go down as the best/most consistant team of the decade. Manning will win his 4th MVP, prob another SB MVP, will surpass all passing records known to man and solidify himself as the greastest QB of all time. theres a reason that all but 3 of the 20 living qbs in the hall of fame would pick Manning to lead their team. end of story.

It's actually a pretty crappy time to be a Boston sports fan.

 

The Pats just lost to the Colts in an absolutely heartbreaking/choking type fashion.

 

The Sox just got swept.

 

The Bruins are under performing.

 

The yankees just won the World Series.

 

The Celtics are not playing near their potential and while they seem to be one of the best teams probably only a 60 win team. The Lakers and Cavs could beat them in a series if things went right for those teams.
