It's an amazing time to be part of the Patriot nation.

Recommended Posts

It can happen and I hope it does. You realize, if you don't make the playoffs this year, we all get to laugh at you even more.

As far as Welker vs Harrison, you can't compare the two. Welker is a slot receiver and the second WR on the team, where Harrison was the number 1 guy and was more of an outside receiver. Could Welker be a number 1 and put up Marvin's number? I think not.

only a slot wr? Last time I checked yards are yards and who cares if you get them by going deep on long passes or by running across the middge for shorter passing plays. Such elitism. Welker is easily a top 15-20 wr in the entire nfl. slot or no slot, the guy is a balla. give some respect to him. I think he has earned at least that much

Marvin Harrison is a twat. He could not even think about going across the middle like Welker does. Harrison would fall down if people breathed on him too closely. Manning saved his butt so many times because he threw the ball where Marvin did not have to take a lick.

Yeah, and also......welker never pulled a gun on someone.....

Why delay the inevitable? the fins cant catch us. the jets are a joke. The AFC East is under Patriot control. Always has and always will as long as Brady and Belichick are in NE

would you shut up :music_guitarred: :dunno: You just do that crap to try and JYNX the Pats

i agree the Pats should and will but you are just setting yourself up and i think you do it on purpose.

I have a ton of respect for Welker. He is one of the few Pats players I like and actually enjoy watching play. I just don't think as a number 1 receiver, he could post the stats he does. Has nothing to do with respect. You are comparing a number 2 guy to a number 1. Harrison might of had Manning throwing him the perfect catch, but as a true Colts fan, have you seen some of the catches he made in bounds? Some of those are amazing and that is all Harrison, not Manning.

Yes, Marvin would go down a lot. Does it make him soft? Or smart? I mean, he only was injuried late in his career and he still posted some top 5 WR numbers for years.

steve smith of carloina is short and has good stats. Welker can get seperation and he has a good qb. Bottom line: welker is a 1000 yard 9-10 td guy as a slot or a #1 on the pats.

I have done it. Welker gets seperation from 95% of the Dbacks in the madden game. He tore it up for me when I played as the pats.

First, I am not trying to jinx anyone. I am supporting them. Something I think you might want to step up and do. You are pessimistic. remember, this is tom terric here and he has moss and welker. If fragile fred gets back in time for the playoffs, watchout. On inside the nfl collinsworth said the pats would get to the superbowl this year. He drank the kool aid,.........maybe you need to take a drink. Yummy,,,,,,,,,,,,it is so good.

LMAO...Ok, I guess you have got me here.

But I used to play Madden 2004 for a long time. I could take that Colts team and beat any other team 200+ points per game. LMAO. I actually played a season and doing that. I broke every record in the book! haha It was fun.

Why call teams that are only 1 game behind "you" a joke?

If the AFC East always has belonged to the Patriots, why didn't they win it last year?

brady got hurt and we still went 11-5. Sure sign of a champion to overcome adversity.

Another poster suggested that I begin a thread with a couple of stories from my life as a Pats fan, and I figured that many of you have similar stories to tell, things that happened, strange, funny, or whatever...so I will kick it off with a couple of my many, mayn stories. I began as a fan back in 1960, day one...and have lived through all of the times, good, bad or otherwise, had season tickets for 28 years before moving here, to Arizona in 1988 and then in 1997 organized and founded the New England Patriots Fan Club of Arizona, the club that Bob Kraft called "His favorite fan club in America"

Anyway here are a couple of quick stories.

It was 1963 and the Pats and Buffalo Bills ended up tied for first place in the AFL East and had to play a playoff to determine who would go to San Diego to play the Chargers for the AFL title. The game was scheduled for Buffalo's War Memorial Stadium the following Sunday.

I didnt have much time to organize but I contacted John Gilooly, great sportswriter for the Boston record-American and asked him to write something in his column that I would charter a bus, include Box lunches and ticket to the game in Buffalo, ALL FOR $25.00.

John ran the story and within 48 hours I had all 45 seats on the bus sold.

We met at Midnight on Saturday night on Rte 9 in Franingham and the bus too off in a heavy snowstorm. We arrived in Buffalo in the morning, went to the Pats hotel, met many of the players and then on to War Memorial Stadium for the game.

It had snowed so a lot of snow was in the stands, and that is when we made a big mistake. In those days there was little security at games, so we ran onto the field with huge Pats banners and signs and, of course, got pelted with hundreds of snow balls.

Eventually we got to our seats and they were way the hell up in the highest section of the stadium so the Pats players told us to come down and they let us sit in their section, front row on the 50 yhard line. sounds great, right. WRONG

In the old stadium front row seats were low, very low, and we couldnt see over the player's heads. So, what they did was at the half, they brought us all down onto the field and we stood there for the rest of the game, next to their bench....WOW, what an awesome experience.

The Pats won and it lwas a great celebration and then a great trip home.

I tried to hoodwink a trip to San Diego from Billy Sullivan as a ball boy (I was 24) but he chose his son over me. Oh well, family is family. (lol)

Anyway, it was a great experience I will always remember.

I am old school pats fan. I was there from the beginning. I am the godfather of the pats fans on this site. patsox is my internet son. I have more stories for you guys.

Two years ago I met Vince Wilfork. We talked about the team for a while. He told me they felt that only one team could beat them and keep them from winning it all that year, and that was the Patriots themselves. I agreed. How prophetic was that?

Yup you got it.

Anyway here are a couple of quick stories.

The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? I was born a poor black child. My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

Yes, completed for a 1 yard gain. Let it go......

They did get enough for the 1st down but had no challenges left because they wasted 2 Timeouts earlier  It was a bad spot but like you said that was long time ago and the Colts have continued to win since and the Pats have been very shaky :wall:

I won't even bother reading this whole crapass thread but it is NOT a great time to be part of the Patriot nation, in fact it sucks. This years team is by far the worst team we have had since 2001's first SB team. As a Pats fan I'm so frustrated it makes me sick. The front office has killed this team over the last 3-4 years. Every focking year they trade down or trade 1st day picks for picks in the next draft as they let quality players slide by them. Brady is only going to be here so long, why not build the team NOW!

It's sickening, on top of that they let guys like Samuel and Seymour without any viable replacement. And draft a focking pass rusher, how about trading up for someone for once (see Jets and Revis for example of how to move up to get a quality player). This team has gone from a perrenial contender to a middle of the road team because the front office got too full of themselves and thought they could make chicken soup out of chicken crap. So take your Patriot Nation bs and shove it. By the time they straighten this mess out Brady may be done.

making some decisions with the future in mind is an easy out for any championship quality team. When they don't win it all or things don't go 100% as planned they can say that the team is good now but also set up for the future.

It's a make or break game. Even if we win it says nothing about our long term chances. In fact this game is lose, lose for us.

I can actually picture an upset tomorrow and it has me sick to my stomach. Of course being that the Bills rot I could see the Pats blowing them out which would give us a false sense of confidence again.

Sigh..tough season.
