Panel Clears Way for Mosque Near Ground Zero

Recommended Posts

No, I have no problem helping people that need help. But when it comes to liberals and their political correct b.s. and being weak toward those that attacked our Country makes me sick.

So you're selective in those you support.

There are certain races, religions, sexual preferences, nationalities, or social statuses that you just don't feel are as deserving of certain rights compared to others?

I may be missing something here, but it seems to me he not saying any of that.

So, in your opinion, Islam is not deserving of the same treatment of other Religions in the United States?

And if so, when did you start to feel this way?

I'm fine with the U.S. government staying out of the way of any religion. OK'ing the construction of the Mosque may be outside their limit. I don't know the full details of this situation though.

Why do you support others that are not you or your family and that you don't even know or have anything in common with? Serious question.

LOL!

Are you for real? If so, congratulations, you just became the most ignorant person on the forearm, in a single sentence.

I can't even believe people like you are still procreating somewhere in the middle of BFE rural America. Scary stuff.

It's just a question, for MDC. You assume way to much about me when you don't know me at all.

So you're OK giving nuclear weapons to the Middle East then, gotcha.

That's not even what we're talking about? Where do you draw these parallels from?

In the interest of humor I'll play along though... I'm not OK with giving ANYONE nuclear weapons. Remind me who's the only country on the planet that's actually used a nuclear weapon though... Is it America? Yep, pretty sure it is! And you question middle eastern countries desire to acquire nuclear weapons? The USA is the scared one? Turn off your Jesus induced tunnel vision and try to actually think reasonably.

So a a manger scene in the White House is too controversial.

The Ten Commandments on a courthouse is too controversial.

But no problem with a Hamas supporter who wants to build a Mosque near ground zero.

What is this suppose to be, SOME KIND OF SICK JOKE????

I only support their right to do what they want with their own property.

A better question is why you think lawful Americans should need your approval to do what they want with their own property within the bounds of the law? :dunno:

A couple of questions.

1. Other than the hijackers, where there any Muslims that died in the WTC?

2. How close is the nearest currently standing mosque? Is that too close? What should be the "magic distance"?

Legitimate Questions for the President

.by Sarah Palin on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 3:01pm.Mr. President, should they or should they not build a mosque steps away from where radical Islamists killed 3000 people? Please tell us your position. We all know that they have the right to do it, but should they? And, no, this is not above your pay grade. If those who wish to build this Ground Zero mosque are sincerely interested in encouraging positive "cross-cultural engagement" and dialogue to show a moderate and tolerant face of Islam, then why haven't they recognized that the decision to build a mosque at this particular location is doing just the opposite? Mr. President, why aren't you encouraging the mosque developers to accept Governor Paterson's generous offer of assistance in finding a new location for the mosque on state land if they move it away from Ground Zero? Why haven't they jumped at this offer? Why are they apparently so set on building a mosque steps from what you have described, in agreement with me, as "hallowed ground"? I believe these are legitimate questions to ask.

I guess the first two being government property is the difference.

I think all three fall into the category of 'you're technically able to do it, but is it REALLY worth all that trouble?'

My question is why build the mosque there? Is there legitimately something that area offers that can't be had 2 miles away or whatever? Because I can see where people would be very offended by a place of worship for the religion that was involved in the devastation of that area.

Conversely, how far away would they have to build the mosque for people NOT to be offended? And why is that distance okay but not a half mile closer? What's the cut off and why?

Not trying to be a dooshbag, MDC but this is not true. I know they push this is public schools but the facts are not correct. Read this...

I guess it depends on when you believe this country was "founded". If you're trying to sell me on this country being tolerant on religious, I can point to about 100 examples of intolerance...during colonization or pre-Constitution. This country was founded by religious radicals who were kicked out of Great Britain for being intolerant.

America wasn't founded in 1692 but 1792. A heck of a lot changed between Plymoth Rock and 1792.

In Europe the religious wars, in colonial America the witch trials, plus the Enlightenment.

By 1792, this history of religious animosity was well know, fresh was exactly sort of sh*t they knew about and were trying to avoid in 1776/1783/1792 when America was founded.

Problem is, most of you numbskulls don't realize Islam is not a religion or a race. It's a way of life, it run governments it imposes laws..and those laws don't belong in this country. Every aspect of this so called religion goes against everything this country was founded on....it preaches the opposite of what all you hypocrites supposedly stand for.

Pick any ###### section in the Koran and read it...its pure focking evil and has no place in our society.

There is not a thing peaceful about that so called religion....and that's a fact.

I feel the exact same way about Grimace-looking, Patriot-loving plumbers that you do about Islam....

Despite this hatred, I would never crimp on your rights.

To do so, would be un-American.... and the terrorists will have won.

Don't live your life in fear, drob..... Fear led you to plop down $800 billion in the Iraq quagmire (It's Baghadad or BALTIMORE, drob! Holy cow! This war doesn't make sense, but dammit... we can't let the terrorists win!)....

If people of NYC don't care, I don't see why you should, drob.... If this mosque starts to impede your ability to gargle Tom Brady's old, 10-6 nuts or if Islam destroys your "Glory Days" Patriots VHS tape from a decade ago when they were last good, then I would really start to raise a stink....

Until then, Beck, Rush, Hannity and other limited-intelligence guys are just making themselves billionaires getting your blood pressure up, and that's not healthy

Look, what's the worst that can happen? It will be a meeting hall where likeminded Muslims can gather together to plan how to fock us. Plan and celebrate the killing of Americans? So what? Let the good times roll. Maybe they can stone some fagguts to death after the meeting as a nightcap.

I throw my support behind the mosque. 70% of Americans oppose the mosque, 61% of ultra liberal New York City opposes the mosque. I say, fock them. If we can tell Arizona to stand there and be shot by illegals, we can certainly dictate to New Yorkers to stand there and be blown up.

How?

It is the origin/meaning of the name Hussain which is the middle name given to a man who is currently the President of the United States of America.

His first and last name is of Kenyan origin.

It's a possible clue to a larger puzzle.

I think it would be wise to learn the origin and life purpose and upbringing, and belief system of the most powerful man in the world, to be cautious that our way of life in this Country is preserved as per the wishes of the people of the United States.

Don't you find it puzzling that the middle name given to our President has a Shiite Islamic origin, or a royal name from Jordan?

Muslim leaders to abandon plans for Ground Zero community center

By Shlomo Shamir - Haaretz | Published: 4:11 PM 08/16/2010 | Updated: 8:14 PM 08/16/2010

After weeks of heated debate over plans for an Islamic community center near Ground Zero – the site of the 9/11 attacks on New York – it seems Muslim leaders will soon back down, agreeing to move to a new site.

The decision follows a high-profile campaign against the project that included advertisements on New York buses showing images of the burning Twin Towers, an iconic landmark razed when al-Qaida terrorists flew packed passenger planes into them in 2001. The New York Republican party is also said to be planning a hostile television campaign.

Sources in New York said on Monday that Muslim religious and business leaders will announce plans to abandon the project in the next few days.

The Muslims were just 'the bigger man' in this situation. Good for them. Just not worth the hassle, although it's a shame that our core values of equality really were shaken on 9/11.
