I'm just waiting for this focker to get built and have a suicide bomber blow it up

I just don't get it. Of course they have a "right" to build it. Of course it's not illegal. This is America. However that doesn't mean it's a good idea. It doesn't mean it will actually help America/Muslim relations (which is the point of the mosque built there). Just because you have the right to do something doesn't make it a smart thing to do. I think Chris Rock had a good bit about that.

Pretty much sums up my position. They have the right to build it and it doesn't bother me if they do. It seems pretty foolish to do considering how hyper-sensitive everybody is to Islam and the connection of Islam to the location. It's like they're begging for trouble.

Don't open that can of worms.

"

Some complain about "Merry Christmas" and want to use "Seasons Greetings." Others complain about "Seasons Greetings" want to use Merry Christmas".

Who cares? I want to throw monkey poo at both groups and tell each of them to STFU for ruining the Christmas season.

Throwing the monkey's poop is fine, but don't have sex with it or you'll get aids.

You can drive a car with ya feet, IF YOU WANT TO. That don't make it a good focking idea. /Chris Rock.

1. Ground Zero is already home to multiple mosques.

2. New Yorkers care about this a lot less than the national media.

3. This is yet another fabricated non-issue designed to fire up voters for the November elections.

hth!

I keep seeing you repeat this over and over, and reality is that between 60-70% of New York City residents are against the location of the mosque. Poll after poll shows this to be true. So, where did you fabricate your information from. Your friends and family told you they didn't care, so that must mean nobody else does.

FACE.

You know what? You're right - I just looked up polls and New Yorkers are 60/40 against the mosque. I find that pretty shocking, since I'm up there several days per week and not once have I ever heard anyone complain about it, even though you'd get the sense this is some kind of major issue by listening to the media. I guess Fox News et al. did their job of pitting Americans against each other over a non-issue, nice going guys.

Step one: Throw out fabricated 'facts' that support your opinion.

Step two: Once those are proven wrong, attack Fox News.

Come on, MDC. You're better than that.

I just said I was wrong. And yeah, the national punditry has been playing the public like a fiddle for years and this is just one of many examples of phony "controversies" drummed up by both major parties to rally the troops for November.

You say you're wrong in one sentence and then in the next sentence say it's just another example of a phony "controversy".

This is not a phony controversy. The majority of people are against it. Stop making stuff up to support your views.

Like the whole gays having sex with monkeys thing to support your view that gay marriage should be illegal? That sort of making stuff up?

There is a wave of political correctness in this Country that is tolerant and OK with pretty much anything anyone does is fine as long as you don't hurt anyone. Well I have a belief system that certain things people do are wrong and I'm not going to just turn a blind eye to it all. It seems to stem from people that are "agnostic" or "atheist" or simply anti-Christianity.

Stop attacking me. You Freak

Sensitivity only applies to how Muslims expect to be treated, to not allow them to do what they want when they want is being insensitive.....they can behave in a way that offends others, and we should not dare challenge it... :dunno:

They would agree with you word-for-word. Well, except that last part. They would change "Christianity" to "Islam". Voila!

They have the freedom and right to build a mosque near Ground Zero.

I have the freedom and right to call them out for being insensitive to the wishes of the very people they claim to try to bridge together, and vote against any politician that publically backs it.

God Bless America

You act as if people of faith practice what they preach. If that was the case we wouldn't be living in such a f'ed up world. Everyone would be holding hands and singing songs.

But alas, religion brainwashes the weak into narrow minded, blood thirsty hate mongers. It promotes prejudice, intolerance, war and just general retardation of the brain.

Know religion = no peace

No religion = know peace

The question is, where did these smelly bastards get the jack to build this mosque on such pricey real estate? And why wouldn't NYC want tax revenue in this space?

Uhhh, yes?

Basically... All theistic belief systems empower those who know the truth, but use the myth to manipulate and control societies. It's really simple stuff when you think about it. Regurgitate some basic astrology with a few extra bells and whistles. Throw billions of tax free dollars into the mix and you got a multi-billion dollar organization controlling the masses.

Can you clarify how Christianity relates to the discussion?
