FantasyKing 4 Posted August 8, 2010 So I called to cancel the Sunday ticket and they did the usual offer to reduce the price - they offered 6 payments of $29 each, which I think is about $120 off and I said no but thanks, it is still too expensive. Then they offered the premium movie channels, all 4 of the big ones for like $26 a month which had nothing to do with the NFL Ticket - so I said no thanks again. I was waiting for another offer to come at a reduced price or a free Superfan package but she just cancelled. We will wait to see what happens I guess, maybe I will get a call back from them with a better offer. Did anyone get a better offer? Been with them like 12 years so figured I would get something better.

mobb_deep 917 Posted August 8, 2010 Superfan is rolled into the ticket now. It's not a separate thing anymore... HTH
desertfire 4 Posted August 8, 2010 cancelled mine as well. Way to expensive. With Thursday games, saturday, sunday and sunday night, monday night. What's the point of paying so much when there's already plenty of football on. They should just charge a set amount for your favorite team (like $50). They would have a lot more subscribers. I order it just to watch my Lions in CA. If not, the only time I see them lose is Thanksgiving. 299$ or even 180$ + free shotime for 6 months is alot of money to watch a team lose 12+ games a year! Also, do they run commercials on the NFLN version?

They are not the exact same thing. I have heard over and over that the ST version is better.

Unfortunately I got some sweet old lady who clearly could only offer what she could, the standard $180 season rate. I simply told her that even with that, it was not enough this year. I even added my length of service being worthy of some additional offer and all she could say was that I might be getting a call with a better deal later on. I'm not holding my breath and I am fully prepared to go the season without.
phillybear 364 Posted August 9, 2010 I was wondering if the NFL Network version is the same exact thing as the DTV version? Also, do they run commercials on the NFLN version? No commercials. I often wonder if the host if wearing a catheter. 6+ hours straight of the best plays of every game in real time, no bathroom breaks. By the later games after polishing off some beers and cocktails, I'm wishing that I had a catheter as well.
deejsixer 0 Posted August 9, 2010 Just called and got the standard $180, but was able to get $5 off my bill/month for 3 months to bring the total to $165. That's $10/week. I can live with that. I have a setup in my theater room with a big TV in the middle and 2 smaller tvs built in on the sides. If I did not have that setup I would probably skip the ticket and watch redzone. kutulu 1,551 Posted August 9, 2010 Never had the Sunday Ticket but love the Redzone. About this time every year, I reorder the NFLN. Well, yesterday was the day...I wanted to add NFLN and get rid of HBO. I was able to get the NFLN (and Redzone), keep HBO and get about 80 additional channels for 10 bucks less per month. (Granted a bunch of those channels suck ass but there are a few cool ones). Wednesday, I'm exchanging one of my digital converter boxes for an extra DVR/digital cable box. When all is said and done, I'll be saving 4 bucks and getting a bunch of new services or hardware.
FantasyKing 4 Posted August 9, 2010 Sounds like a lot of us are in the same boat, and I forgot about the redzone! I did check that out last year. I have a feeling that we will be getting a phone call soon with a better offer.

It changed my life and i wouldnt pay for the ticket even if it was 10 bucks. How can it blow away the ST if it's been one of the channels on the ST ? (for a few years now) You can simply watch any game, that's what make the ST better, let alone the best channel for FFers, the GameMixHD. That stays on screen, and we watch all the games at once. We move the cursor around to get the audio, and if it's a TD, or they're in the redzone we click that game to go full screen. And when I say full screen I mean 110", 1080p HD Samsung projector. When it's the GamemixHD, it's like 8 27" LCD screens. So calm down, and show a little respect....THIS is the greatest channel ever invented. I do watch the Redzone when I have to be at family's homes on Sunday, it's better than stat on NFLN, but it's no GameMix.

CornKobb 48 Posted August 9, 2010 thanks folks.....I was paying 49.99 per month for 6months on autopay and just called to threaten to drop the ticket and they reduced the price $30 credit per month. $20 per month for being a customer and $10 since i am on an autopay on my debit card. I liked the idea and can live with $19.99 per month. Just ask to speak to a direct tv sunday ticket specialist. what the heck....never hurts to ask..... RoadLizard 73 Posted August 9, 2010 I know lots of people that are dumping it. Its a horrible value. At least half of the games are crap anyways and unless you are a rabbid fan of a team thats never on TV then you have no reason to pay the exhorbitant fees they charge for this. Plus, top matchups are always on as a national game so everyone gets it anyways. And, as others have mentioned, with games on seemingly every focking night now, whats the point? Roughly $17 a week? For EVERY game, HD and RZ channel? Wow you guys are a bunch of tightwads. I bet most of you spend $17 a week on cigs, beer, or coffee. How much would you spend each Sunday going out to a local sports joint to watch the games? I bet more than $17 on food, drinks and tip. Cheapskates
Agent575 0 Posted August 10, 2010 Some of you that are waiting for a callback are gonna be waiting and waiting and waiting.... All you have to do is play phone rep roulette. Call em again. They will hook it up if they will lose your business over it. I got the Sunday Ticket for a total of $
