Ryan Torain is going to start and get significant carries, he'll be used on 1st and 2nd down exclusively. Hightower will come in on 3rd down passing situations. I've seen both of these guys play and I usually have a VERY Good feel for what will happen regardless of what coaches say in the preseason. Hightower looked decent in the first preseason game, but it's preseason, he's slow, he fumbles constantly in practice. Torain has been and can be one of the better backs in the NFL as he proved last year when he played and put up multiple 100 yard rushing games. He is a very smart runner and finds a way to gain yards, sometimes significant chunks of yards on various drives. He's back in practice and will be cleared to resume full practices (from his broken wrist bone) and he will be running full steam week 1. GUARANFOCKINGTEED. Torain has a good yard per carry, he has good speed, makes good reads, and he breaks tackles. If torain can stay healthy i could see him finishing among the elite. Then I looked at his completetion of only 10 games last year. Then he's already had screws put in his wrist this 2 week short session so far. What's next for this guy? Biggest Concern: You want a quicker return than the 11 sacks Trent Williams yielded. That was just for that poster's benefit since he didn't say it doesn't matter what coaches say (I did), so I was refuting what he posted by backing it up with what the head coach said, not that I think it proves anything, but thought that poster might think it was significant. He was 'suppose' to be the next BIG STAR running back, but was shipped out of town when Shanny was fired. The same knuckle heads that got rid of Torain also got rid of Hillis. As soon as Shanny was hired by Washington, guess who he brought in to compete for a RB spot on the team? R. Torain. The prodigy RB that he was grooming during his tenure in Denver will be groomed at Washington instead. When Torain was healthy, he's been given the chance to prove himself and he's done a good job. The numbers don't lie. 8 Games 164 rushing attempt 742 yards 54 (longest rush for season) 4 Rushing TD 18 Rec 125 Rec yards 2 Rec TD Folks, those are RB2 numbers. 'IF' healthy using those numbers to project out to 13-15 games, you got yourself a SOLID RB2. Look at his receiving numbers. This is an every down running back in the league. I was joking with my Skins homer friends about Torain and injuries one morning...and that same afternoon he breaks his hand during DRILLS. While he's healthy and IF he gets the starting nod, start him every week with confidence. Shanny the genius also made two genius draft picks with RBs in Roy Helu and Evan Royster. WR Guru 31 Posted October 2, 2011 Talent has never been an issue with Torrain, it's durability. He WILL get banged up and miss games. It is not a fluke or an accident that he has only played 14 games in 4 seasons since being drafted.
