Hoops 1 Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) Okay, I'm a long time Saints fan and I am more psyched about this season than any other. This game is HUGE for both teams to see just how they will stack up to great competition this year. With the very short offseason all NFL teams are still in evaluation mode. Apparently, the Pack have added beaucoup pages to their playbook....especially on offense. The Saints major changes are at D line (added Frankin, Rogers and the rook Jordan) and at RB (lost Bush, added Ingram and Sproles). I don't believe either team revealed much about their "true" offense or defensive schemes during preseason. These are 2 great QBs facing each other and IMHO this won't be the only time they face each other this season. Prediction: Saints 31-Pack 27 Let the games begin!! roroco 75 Posted September 8, 2011 It is rare that the Superbowl defender losses the first game of the following season. While I don't think that means anything outside that they were the best team last year and have home field advantage, I think it will still be true in this battle of the giants of the NFC. This should be a great game with some impressive offense on both sides. But, I think the Packers beat out the Saints on defense though - by a more than slim margin. Packers 35 Saints
ricanrockers 39 Posted September 8, 2011 It's a great game to start the season with. I think the Saints are hurting at WR with Moore out and Colston not 100%. Their best bet is to pound the rock with Thomas, Ingram and Sproles. If they fall behind early, it'll be a long night. With that said, I'm picking GB by 7....(27-20) Things I want to see: How Ingram is used. How many Target Jordy gets. Will NO throw to Graham
Hoops 1 Posted September 8, 2011 Have to address a few things: 1. The Defending SB champ Thursday Kickoff streak. Saints' have beat odds before......no team that ever lost their last 3 regular season games won the SB......until the Saints. 2. Will the Saints throw to Jimmy Graham? Uh yeah......Drew LOVES JGraham....his new AGates....believe DAT! 3. Hurt and non-starting RCs is about par for the course for the Saints......not a problem for Brees. ffrookie312 0 Posted September 8, 2011 I am also looking forward to see how Ingram is used I was debating starting Ingram over Felix jones but I think for this week I will stick with Jones

Hoops 1 Posted September 8, 2011 I am also looking forward to see how Ingram is used I was debating starting Ingram over Felix jones but I think for this week I will stick with Jones I can't fault you for your choice......2 of the 5 most hyped RBs with no or little history. Both are against elite defenses. Personally I can't give you any insight.......however, I strongly believe that inside the ten....the two primary targets will be Ingram and Graham. d'eaux boy 5 Posted September 9, 2011 As a Saints homer, of course I'm gonna project them to win, 31 - 17 (Saints' D is for real). They will bring a heavy dose of the RBs and some short passes to Sproles, over the middle to Graham, deep to Meachem. GO SAINTS!

nobody 2,586 Posted September 9, 2011 Anybody see that sportscenter segment about how Sean Payton was devastated when the Packers didn't hire him and he had to go to the post-katrina Saints? Since then they beat the Packers 34-27 51-29 Of course, that was before Dom Capers showed up.

giraldi02 474 Posted September 9, 2011 Wow. Rodgers spread the ball around nicely. It's going to be tough to defend all these receivers. Ryan Grant did a good job that first series in pass protection as well...though I don't blame Starks for the sack. That was a jail break.

The Football Guru 222 Posted September 9, 2011 Boy, Colston didn't explode out of his cut and fumbled as soon as someone came close to that knee. I'm not feeling 16 games from him this year.
