PATSSOX 22 Posted September 9, 2011 If this freaking complete idiot never opens his mouth again he would do everyone a HUGE favor. Seriously how does someone that shoots himself in the leg in a night club and goes to jail for 2 years really make some of the comments he made in the Mens Journal story?? Seriously what was this complete piece of garbage thinking?? Read this quote.... "I'm like, forget support -- how about some concern? I did just have a bullet in my leg. And then I sat in his office, and he pushed back his chair and goes, 'I'm glad you didn't kill anybody!' Man, we're paid too much to be treated like kids. He doesn't realize that we're grown men and actually have kids of our own."-from http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/6947235/plaxico-burress-rips-new-york-giants-reflects-prison-lesson Are you focking kidding me with that?? "We're paid too much to be treated like kids"............you just shot your self in the freaking leg in a night club Im not a Eli Manning fan one bit but read some of the crap Burress says. In the article, Burress said he always stood behind Manning, but those feelings soured when the quarterback failed to visit Burress during his nearly two-year prison stint after pleading guilty to one count of attempted criminal possession of a weapon. "I was always his biggest supporter, even days he wasn't on, 'cause I could sense he didn't have thick skin," Burress said. "Then I went away, and I thought he would come see me, but nothing, not a letter, in two years. I don't want to say it was a slap in the face, but I thought our relationship was better than that." When Burress, 34, met with Giants brass in July, Manning was in meetings and did not speak with Burress. Manning also told the media that he would not lobby management for the receiver's return. Manning has acknowledged that he didn't visit Burress in prison. "I thought about (visiting Burress) a few times," he said. "It just never worked out. Just one of those deals. As soon as he got out, called him a few weeks after and just talked to him for a little bit. It sounded like he learned a lot and it changed his life." -from http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/6947235/plaxico-burress-rips-new-york-giants-reflects-prison-lesson Someone please shut this piece of garbage up. Domenic 0 Posted September 9, 2011 Eli could have found the time to visit him at least once... Agreed the guy was in there for 2 years with one hour a day for rec time and only a bible to read your telling me Eli couldn't find a few hours to go see him in 2 years
PATSSOX 22 Posted September 9, 2011 Eli could have found the time to visit him at least once... Maybe but i dont blame him for not. Why should you go visit someone who shot him self in the leg at a night club not long after winning Super Bowl and hurt not only him self but his teammates. Burress's shooting himself in the leg was more selfish than anything any of his former teammates did or did not do. What kind of fool brings a gun into night club and i think he was wearing sweat pants too??? If you feel the need to bring a gun to where your going thats probably a pretty BIG sign you dont need to be there in the first place
RSersen 0 Posted September 9, 2011 Don't understand why the fock he's complaining about people not being concerned. As soon as the story broke everyone knew he was fine. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/30/sports/football/30burress.html Giants receiver Plaxico Burress accidentally shot himself in the right thigh while at a Manhattan nightclub early Saturday, hours after he was deemed unfit to play in Sunday’s game at Washington because of a hamstring strain in the same leg. Burress, who was with his teammate Antonio Pierce, was released from a New York City hospital Saturday afternoon and was staying at his home in Totowa, N.J. It was unclear how long the injury, which pierced skin and muscle tissue but avoided any bone or artery, would keep Burress out of the lineup. I mean, it happened early Saturday morning, and he was home in time for lunch. I don't know why he's laying on the dramatics 3 years after the fact. I'm not comparing the levels of dislike people have for Vick and Burress, or comparing their crimes....but Burress really needs to take some lessons from Vick on how to rehab his image. Putting your team on blast and brushing the whole thing off like it wasn't a big deal isn't a good start.
RaiderHaters Revenge 4,580 Posted September 9, 2011 sorry I hate Eli and all that being a Charger fan, but why in the hell is he obligated to go see some jackass in jail?
WhiteWonder 2,997 Posted September 9, 2011 probably because said jackass helped him win a superbowl, and stood by him as Plax says, when he wasnt at his best. Eli really should have visited him at least once. Pretty ###### move if you ask me.

He kind of has a point with Manning. As stupid of a situation he put himself in, thats a total d!ck move. Manning could have used him this year too. Eli's a weird dude. That being said, crying about it in Men's Journal is ghey. The first comment was typical d-bag Burress.

PATSSOX 22 Posted September 10, 2011 He never said he was obligated but it probably would've been nice. That's all he's saying. Well the damn idiot should have thought about his teammates before he went to a night club, carried a gun with him to such night club and then pulled a Barney Fife and shot him self. So who is the selfish one?? Selfish and stupid
Matt Mueller 148 Posted September 10, 2011 Eli also supposedly hasn't talked to his brother Peyton in months. He's a douche. The Chargers gm also recently took a shot at him: 'Chargers GM A.J. Smith is still miffed at Eli Manning for threatening to sit out the 2004 season if the Bolts selected him at No. 1 overall. "He was a Charger for 45 minutes," Smith said. "And that was too much time to be a Charger, in my opinion." Retroactively, Smith calls Eli a "bar of gold" traded in for Philip Rivers, Shawne Merriman, and Nate Kaeding. Without question, Smith got the better end of the deal. Smith believes Rivers -- the superior QB of the two -- has at least one Super Bowl ring in his future. "He's a great quarterback," said Smith. "A phenomenal leader with great character, great work habits." '

GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted September 10, 2011 Besides for being a wide receiver for Manning, how did Burress support Manning? Is Eli expected to go to the penitentiary for every criminal that happened to be enlisted on the Giants at some point in the past? Eli talked with him on the phone when he came out. There are alot of visitor rules when you're in jail, maybe that had something to do with it.
Filthy Fernadez 2,696 Posted September 10, 2011 Read something about Plax's comments where he talks about being 'a human pincusion'. Was he in general population in prison being passed around like a drunk prom date or what? < banjos >
WhiteWonder 2,997 Posted September 10, 2011 I'm at work and have had this topic open since it was first posted. I just got a chance to respond...I swear not sure what this means. I dont like Plax. I was not a fan of the Jets signing him. but if im just looking at the issue, i tend to agree with plaxico. Considering he was a big part in Eli's superbowl win, and Eli is the QB and supposed leader of the team i honestly would think he could go visit plax once.. el_duderino 0 Posted September 10, 2011 sorry I hate Eli and all that being a Charger fan, but why in the hell is he obligated to go see some jackass in jail? I don't think Plax was saying Eli was obligated...he was just commenting that he thought Eli was his friend. Apparently not....I guess the Mannings are as selfish and as big of douche bags as they seem.
el_duderino 0 Posted September 10, 2011 I drafted Plax in June for my 14 team PPR league and was happy when he signed with the Jets. After watching him play (and even scoring a TD) I saw nothing that made be believe he was going to do great things. Shipped him for Danny Amendola straight up. Plax is old and slow....it took Vick a year of practice to get back into game shape. I'm guessing Plax owners will be disappointed with his lack of production. ZeroTolerance 584 Posted September 10, 2011 I would approve of a one-time waving of any fine if James Harrison wanted to go helmet-to-helmet on Plax.

STUPID AND SELFISH he may be stupid... check that, he IS stupid. But everyone makes mistakes. Despite that, I would think Eli could go visit him and be like hey man, you made a bad mistake but you'll learn from this, etc etc etc. you mean to tell me if a friend or relative of yours shot themselves and went to jail you would not go visit them because they made a mistake? I don't believe that at all. But since you are not involved in the situation, you're going to the extreme about it. now, i dont know that Eli and Plax were friends but Plax seems to think they were so i understand him questioning it. disclaimer*** - i dont like plax at all and think he needs to shut his mouth and play football. I am only commenting on the issue of Eli ignoring him while in prison.

A friend or relative is ALOT different than a teammate and if a relative or friend of mine shot himself with a gun at a night club i probably wouldnt admit he was my relative or friend . I dont think i am taking anything to the extreme. I am just simply pointing out that this guy is a selfish, idiotic punk who more and more kids and athletes are turning out like. They think they are entitled to everything and do not want to or are not willing to work for it.
