3 days before the trade deadline and our recievers are garbage.

 

Rice looks good but to me is a #2.

Baldwin I believe can be a really good slot guy for a long time. He's hurt.

Tate is dinged up and in the last year of his contract. Did I mention the fact he's garbage.

Obamanu's on a 1 year deal and is hurt. Oh yeah, he sucks too.

Edwards is on a 1 year deal, and he's hurt. (I wouldn't mind keeping him though. Seems like he could be a good red zone, blocking WR. Number 5 on the depth chart kind of guy)

 

What do you guys think about Dwayne Bowe?

I think he's talented, can be a number 1 wr, and the most important part of my criteria. He's still young.

 

Anyone think K.C. would take Golden Tate and a 2nd rounder for him?

I don't think we'll make a deal. If so, it'll be for another garbage WR for a late round pick.

Why trade for Bowe, just make a run at him in free agency and save the picks. I like that option and then picking a talented WR in the first and having a wealth of options at the position. This would fit with Carrols mantra of competition for the starter position. I think this is what we do unless a QB prospect slips.

Can't win on the road. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Probably both. Christian Ponder has fallen off the cliff the last few weeks, so let's not get excited about this rather ugly win.

 

Jets up next, at home. Then the bye. Then Miami. A couple of potentially winnable games.

Funny how GB can hold on every down in the 2nd half yet not draw a single flag. Wow, no sacks in the second half. What are the odds of that, after 8 in the first? What could have changed. That game was incredibly tilted for Green Bay to win, but I am taking the high road and simply accepting that justice was served and Seattle got a close call and proper call to go their way for once. This is a 16 week season. You get excited about every win. Russell Wilson is looking good; Marshawn is in full Beast Mode. Jason Jones has missed the last few games and KJ Wright went out early with a concussion but you are right the defense is shaky right now. I've never been sold on Gus Bradley so I'm not comfortable that he can fix it.

Russell Wilson is turning into a nice little QB. But it figures that when the offense gets things figured out, the D starts backsliding.

 

I'm just going to assume we take care of business at home against the NYJ's and Buffaloes of the world. The season still comes down to a 2 week stretch in Chicago and Miami and a huge December division game in Seattle.

 

I hope Wright's concussion wasn't too bad. That would be a huge loss

It was a win three weeks in the making.

 

For three weeks, Russell Wilson has stepped up his game, only to see his efforts wasted. In San Francisco, it was the five dropped passes that sabotaged his stats. In Detroit, the defensive miscues overshadowed what had been his best day.

 

But on Sunday, against a Minnesota defense that entered the game allowing the seventh-fewest passing yards per attempt, Wilson was nearly flawless.

 

In the first half of Seattle's 30-20 win, he was 10 of 14 for 106 yards and three touchdowns. Those numbers are great, but remember that of the four incompletions, three were dropped and the fourth was thrown away on purpose.

As I said, nearly flawless.

 

He was called upon to throw only 10 times in the second half (thanks to a pounding ground attack and a lead), but still managed to complete 60 percent of his attempts.

 

Again, the numbers tell a great story, but only part of it. What the numbers omit is a multi-faceted skill set that fits perfectly within the Seahawks' gameplan.

 

Wilson is, in a word, dynamic.

 

Need a quarterback to maintain possession of the ball? Wilson did not turn it over once in this game, and he has yet to throw an interception at home. Ball security is at forefront of his game and it's especially important to a team that wants to run it 43 times (as the Seahawks did Sunday).

 

Need a quarterback to fire out the quick screens? Wilson set up Golden Tate on a couple of those and triggered the double-pass with Sidney Rice.

 

Need someone to stand in the pocket and fire it out to open receivers? Re-watch the 23-yard strike to Rice in the first quarter.

 

Need someone to avoid pressure, keep his balance, extend a play and fire it downfield? The touchdown to Rice should be on your DVR – watch it. Wilson was sacked just once on the day and has only been sacked 14 times in nine games.

 

Need a scrambler? His 13 yards on third-and-14 gave the Seahawks the opportunity to extend the final drive and put away the win.

 

For the second straight week, Wilson's ability to read defenses and run to either side of the field has allowed coordinator Darrell Bevell to play games with the defensive ends, forcing them to either commit to the inside run or the threat of the sprint-out pass on the read-option. Wilson's athleticism and quick decision making (along with Marshawn Lynch's power running style) has taken the aggressiveness away from premier ends like Cliff Avril, Kyle Vanden Bosch and Jared Allen.

 

In a passing league where the elite pass rushers change games, Wilson is able to use their best assets against them. That's just as valuable as a left tackle.

 

There will be tough days ahead for Wilson, I'm sure. Defensive masterminds will come up with responses to his unique abilities. But after seeing him grow and adjust over the first nine games of his career, don't you feel confident in his ability to overcome those difficulties?

 

It was a daring choice for coach Pete Carroll to start his season with a third-round rookie at quarterback. Many scoffed. Others raged that he was "wasting" his championship-caliber defense.

 

And truthfully, the first few weeks had their rough moments.

 

But Carroll remained steadfast that his decision was about the future this season, not just for the years beyond. Nine games in and coming off three straight excellent performances from Wilson, Carroll looks prescient and his rookie quarterback looks like a star.

Winnable game vs Jets today. I don't have any earth shattering observations here, just a reason to bump our favorite thread. I don't even have a complaint yet. But the day is still early and I've just mixed my round. Hey, tomorrow is a day off from work so no worries at tossing back a couple dozen.

 

Kind of feet bad for Tebow. Ryan just won't put him in the game no matter how badly Sanchez plays of how big of a blow out the game is. Hope the guy gets traded or given a shot; the league is a hell of a lot more fun when you have Tebow starting somewhere. Just send him to Jacksonville already.

Well, it's a good thing we have a QB that studies film 27 hours a day so we don't have to depend on multiple forced passes to score on our first drive and then back to back sacks and a turnover for a TD on the next. I'd hate to think what would happen if we didn't have a media crowned ProBowler at QB.

Look, this team has no personality at all. Nothing. Nobody is taking charge, no identity on offense other than Lynch, the defense is getting pliable. I just don't like this team. The team that went to the Superbowl has a personality. The team that wanted the ball in overtime and they were going to win. The team that got Skittles and earthquakes into conversation. This team this year is vanilla pudding.

If Richard Sherman doesn't pick off Sanchez on the goal line, this game is taking on a different sense of urgency. Carroll is supposed to know the mind of Sanchez. And we can't anything going.

 

How sad is the punt return of the Rams. Get it down to the SF 2, and brought back. Rams could, could, probably won't, but could win that game. Wowza.

Sherman with a fantastic corner blitz, fumble, decent enough drive going, Tate flashing his inconsistent talent, some Beast Mode, now a flurry of offensive penalties, would love a score, any score here to ease my anxiety.

 

Still want to keep an eye on Rams, as if they can pull it off, division becomes tighter than Mila Kunis's assh0le. Hey, her flat ass can't have a big hole.

You watched Pete Carroll football yesterday. Dominant defense, dominant running game, efficient QB play.

 

Pete Carroll has no choice but to play this style of football. Pete Carroll football at USC also had an element of a passing game, with highly regarded, talented throwers. Take a look around the league, look at the numbers of QBs yesterday, the ones that played the entire game, ignoring injury situations. Wilson ranked among the worst. He did not play well in the first half. Yet, he did enough to allow the running game to take over in the 4th quarter and didn't lose the game for us. And I'm OK with that. Against the Jets. That will not work against the better teams in the NFC. Seattle rushes for just as many yards as it throws for. That's not that many yards overall. But, one step at a time. Need to make the playoffs first. Also, the rush defense didn't look good yesterday again, vs a mediocre Jets rushing attack.

 

With this bye week, I have nothing to complain about for 2 weeks. What am I going to do with myself?
