phillybear 366 Posted December 9, 2012 How's Flynn looking? Did Seattle make a mistake going with little Russ? Flynn looks a lot like a guy that will be handing the ball off the rest of the game. Which is A O K with me. For this week. 51-0. I have no clue what emoticon to post anymore. I'm speechless, believe it or not.

Slamdog 0 Posted December 10, 2012 I'm not a Seattle fan, but boy howdy was that one helluva football game on Seattle's part. I especially liked the part where I got 41 pts from the D/ST. That is pretty tasty. Anyways, as long as you folks don't interfere with Chicago's playoff dreams, I'm fine with you. Good game by the way. Hope Wilson turns out well for you guys. FlaHawker 24 Posted December 10, 2012 Playoff Update: Currently # 5 seed. If season ended today Hawks would be heading to Jersey for a wild card matchup against the Giants. The NFC West title is in play. If the Hawks beat Buffalo next week and SF loses at New England, we have a Dec 23rd showdown in Seattle for first place

FlaHawker 24 Posted December 10, 2012 This is why Herm Edwards is a loser. Yea, the Seahawks should have just run the ball in the 2nd half because they need to work on their running game. Hey idiot, the running game is fine. The Hawks need to work on their passing game and they needed to see something out of Matt Flynn. phillybear 366 Posted December 10, 2012 I thought Flynn looked pretty good, all things considered. He misfired on the goal line, then settled in. Just like preseason, his receivers dropped a few balls, including a TD. I have all the confidence in the world in Flynn if Wilson goes down. Don't forget, the problem with tiny QBs is that big fat guys fall on top of them thorough out the game. I don't care who you are, you can easily get hurt that way. Why is Evan Moore on this team? Can we not scrape somebody off the free agent market that might not suck so bad? The CFL season is over. Maybe you can find someone from that scrap heap. That is where Browner came from. Todd Heller got cut the other day. Maybe take a look. Evan Moore sucks. He's third on the depth chart at TE and free falling. I don't trust him to hold the kicking tee on a windy day. Walter Thurmond was a starting corner before his injury, and he looks as good as ever right now. We can survive missing Browner OR Sherman. So, it looks like we may not see Sherman again this year. Is Giacomini determined to get a penalty on every play from scrimmage? He walks by, and I swear yellow flags are dropping out of his assh0le and onto the field right behind him. Irwin got a sack with, what, 30 seconds left in the game? I tell ya, the kid is a difference maker. Yeah, Lynch did hurt his back yesterday. Next week, you have to give Turbin a heavier work load. The kid looked good anyway, so it's not like it's a bad idea

phillybear 366 Posted December 10, 2012 I'm pretty sure Whisenhunt is more worried about updating his resume this morning than Seattle running up the score. Living in Philadelphia, nothing made me quite so happy as to see Buddy Ryan running up the score on the Cowboys. For those of you that don't recall, Buddy thought Dallas ran it up on the Eagles in a prior game. He had Randall Cunningham fake kneel on the ball with seconds to go and then throw it deep. Pass interference, ball spotted on the one yard line. Still feeling like he didn't make his point, he proceeded to punch the ball in the endzone the next snap. I think it Keith was Byars. Funny sh!t. phillybear 366 Posted December 11, 2012 Week 16, the Seattle San Fran game is now going to be officially flexed to Sunday Night foooosball. phillybear 366 Posted December 12, 2012 Bruce Irvin not having a bad year at all When you play opposite of Pro Bowler Chris Clemmons on the times he gets inserted into a game, he isn't going to see double teams. It's one on one all the time. Sure, he might get pressure on a QB once a game. He's also going to get pancaked 7 times a game as the offense picks up 10 yards running a play to his side of the field. I'm not calling him a bust at this point, because he is young and has room to improve. His only move is the speed rush to the outside. He's not a complete player by any stretch of the imagination, so it's hard to justify spending such a high draft pick on a part time specialist. They keep insisting there were other teams ready to grab him, yet I have never heard the mention of one team that didn't laugh openly at the thought of them taking Irvin that early. What I'm saying is that a lot of us were ready to toss in the towel with Golden Tate. Took him a couple of shitty years and all of the sudden the light bulb went on and he's been a pretty good player. So, you never know. I hope Irvin gets better. I thought he would be a non factor, but to his credit, he's got a few sacks. OK. It's a start. Now, try to become an NFL defensive end. Did he get off to a quick start with sacks this year? I guess. Has he shown improvement through out the year? Absolutely not. What is evident is that our pass rush has sucked for many years now, and it's improved to inconsistent at best, invisible at worst. phillybear 366 Posted December 12, 2012 I had simply assumed that since the game was this week in the home of the world champion Toronto Argonauts was going to be an early kickoff. No, indeed the kickoff will be at 4:05 EST. Not only does it give me the benefit of extra drinking time to prepare for the game, but it gives Seattle a benefit for a road game. Those early East coast games are tough to adjust to for West Coast teams, as study after study has shown. Now, we have ourselves a neutral site, late start time, and a dome. Sounds good to me. kutulu 1,680 Posted December 12, 2012 The Seahawks, meanwhile, pair the NFL's No. 2 scoring defense (15.5 PPG) with a strong running game, a killer home-field advantage and a hugely efficient, under-valued quarterback. The deadly combination could lead the Seahawks straight to New Orleans.
Joey Gladstone 33 Posted December 12, 2012 The Patriots are going to embarrass the Niners. They're on one of those Hoodie/Tom Brady rolls right now that probably won't stop until they've hit the Super Bowl. So if we can keep from "Seahawking" it in Toronto then we'll all get the impactful division matchup we crave. No small feat, our team is still young, and has been getting a mountain of praise heaped upon them by the media the past couple weeks. Buffalo has several players that don't suck, including possibly the most dynamic back in the league. Not to be all doom and gloom, I just hope Carroll is keeping the boys focused on this week, it's a classic trap game. As long as Irvin keeps improving as a pass-rusher I don't care how worthless he is against the run. We Have a roster full of run-stoppers.
phillybear 366 Posted December 13, 2012 Unofficially, I've read a few reports tonight that Sherman's appeal/suspension won't happen until next season. He'll play the rest of the season. Which would mean that both Sherman and Browner would be available for any potential playoff games this year.

The first games of next year would give you a lot of time to plan for his absence. If you ask him though, he's completely innocent and will be cleared of all wrongdoing I agree. If this is true, the start of next season would be great. We might lose Lynch too, but it's something a fresh and healthy team can plan for. My gut tells me it'll be a give and take for Sherman. As I can see the suspension still counting, but getting reduced to 2 games. I'm still thinking Lynch will be a 4 to 6 gamer though.

FlaHawker 24 Posted December 14, 2012 We can dream, right? 49ers lose to NE, GB loses to Chicago and the Seahawks win out. The Seahawks earn the # 2 seed. the soft Falcons lose. The NFC championship game is played in Seattle
Lackman 0 Posted December 14, 2012 We can dream, right? 49ers lose to NE, GB loses to Chicago and the Seahawks win out. The Seahawks earn the # 2 seed. the soft Falcons lose. The NFC championship game is played in Seattle I was looking at the standing briefly last night. I think the Seahawks need one loss by Green Bay, one loss by NY Giants, and SF to lose twice, Seattle wins out to get the #2 seed. And on top of that, if Atlanta loses out, Seattle is the #1 seed. Also, it's nice to have the tie breakers on just about every NFC team. Except for Washington potentially, as they are tied with the Seahawks in conference record, but would probably pull ahead if Seattle loses to someone other than Buffalo. Then again, I hope Griffin's leg ends up being much worse than reported.

Lackman 0 Posted December 16, 2012 When you think about it, Seattle scored the final 7 points of the Chicago game. All 58 points in the Arizona game. Then start the Buffalo game 7-0. That's outscoring your opponent 72-0 in that time span. W.O.W.

Lackman 0 Posted December 16, 2012 As a reference point, for you newbies, I'm crabby phillybear. Anyway, Seattle seemingly has adopted Washington's offensive philosophy, since shredding Chicago's defense with the read option in the later stages of that game a couple of weeks ago, and they've let the entire playbook open for Wilson. sort of what happened when Seattle blew out the Eagles towards the latter stages of last year's team and really let Tarvaris do whatever he could. The offense looks extremely sharp, the defense is finally starting to cause turnovers, and this game was an obvious flat spot yet the lead stands at 37-17. I guess since there is no point in protecting players from injury this late in the season, so they've let Wilson run a lot more. And it's been very, very successful. I'm very impressed. Lackman 0 Posted December 16, 2012 can i get at least one sack or turnover here? Unreal. Irvin tripped over the 10 yard line on the way into the endzone with a fumble. Oh, I'm not going to rip him. Relax, everyone. Well, Clemmons is having a monster game, ala the Green Bay when he had 4 sacks.
