IGotWorms 4,060 Posted October 5, 2012 cnn.com Friday's monthly jobs report changed the picture of the U.S. economy in more ways than one, showing the unemployment rate fell to the lowest level in more than three years and hiring was stronger than originally reported throughout the summer. Unemployment unexpectedly fell to 7.8% in September, down from 8.1%, as a survey of U.S. households showed 873,000 more Americans had jobs compared to a month earlier. Good news for America! Strike 5,748 Posted October 5, 2012 Actually you're the one changing the question. The question is whether the government should be able to force local schools to feed kids what the feds want, not whether the schools should be forced to feed unhealthy foods. No one has argued for that. The government is forcing the schools to provide what they deem are healthy meals. Schools and/or school districts should be able to determine their own menu. If a local school board decided to do something like this I'd be fine with it because if the community is against it they can vote those people out and get people in that represent their interests. That's why local and state government is so important to our country and dumbasses like you keep ceding more control to the feds. Let me ask YOU a question. Without the government forcing this on them, how many schools do you think would be going down this route? Bump for Matlock.

Recliner Pilot 61 Posted October 5, 2012 7.8% would be good....even on the moon......if Obama had not already promised America his $800 BILLION stimulus would have unemployment below 6% right now.
IGotWorms 4,060 Posted October 5, 2012 We should all be over the moon about this Ahh, now I see it. I usually read this bored on my phone, so all that came up was your thread title "Good News". Pretty easy to accidentally skip over that as I scanned the board to see if anyone had posted it yet. At least I gave the Queer Brigade a nice little opportunity to circle jerk in this thread. RLLD 4,275 Posted October 5, 2012 http://news.yahoo.co...--election.html Something's not adding up. Poltico-math? Y'know, someone in the white house playing the numbers, perhaps suggesting that by adding 114,000 it actually created another 700,000 more by trickle down or some nonsense. Honestly, when these buffoons start spouting numbers and percentages, I simply tune out, I know they what ever they are spouting is at least partially not true, if not a complete lie. It is not bad news but if you look into it many of these jobs are part time. Over the last 4 years we have spent over $14 trillion and this is our payback? Over the last 4 years more people have applied for and received SSI (disability) than have found jobs.

Well they said the number of jobs added this summer was under reported and that this report corrected those figures. So that was my guess as to how they arrived at the 800,000 figure, although I don't know that for sure.

I can tell you're real cranky over it since you're following me into completely unrelated threads a day later. So how about this: if it makes you feel better about your eating habits, sure, I'll go.along with your theory that pizza and hamburgers are actually good for you. I'm going to continue to eat such foods sparingly, but you go ahead and have a hamburger on top of a pizza for every meal if you want. You said "there's no such thing as a pizza or burger that isn't pretty unhealthy." It has nothing to do with pizzas and hamburgers being actually good for you. I am calling you a liar and you are trying to backpedaling. What will your next spin be? I will add this to the top 5 list. Anyone need a successful lawyer. BTW: I have had the same eating habits for over 60 years and have never approached being overweight. Why would that change just because the government changed their standards for healthy foods.
