So you want to quibble over 9 vs 10 wins? OK. I think it's unrealistic to bank on all those road wins in the NFL, or to assume they do better than an in-division split vs OAK and SD. They beat a really bad team tonight, but if you want to pick nits, have at it.

 

I'll stick with the prediction I made on these boards before the season began.

Agree on the 2 point conversion. Pointless to go for that.

 

Disagree on punting on 4th and 20. In today's NFL, I go for it every time in that situation. It is so easy these days to get an illegal contact penalty, pass interference, holding, etc. Defensive backs can't touch the WR's anymore. Even though the chances of actually converting that distance is fairly low, I think the ability to get a first down through penalty makes it an easy call to go for it. Especially when your defense has proven it is very unlikely to stop the opposing offense when it matters most.

Let's face it, the odds at that point are long at best.

 

So do you forfeit your TOs and risk all on one play which, if it fails, means the game is over. Or do you make them handle a punt and run plays, hoping for a miracle.

 

Again, there's different schools of thought. I was always taught that you extend the game as far as possible in hopes the other guy screws up.
