Voltaire 4,586 Posted October 16, 2013 What I learned long ago is the gatekeepers to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame don't have a focking clue what rock and roll is, so even though it's my favorite genre of music, that place and what they do there, who's in and who's out, is totally dead to me. They can go fock themselves.

NewbieJr 541 Posted October 16, 2013 Your ballot sucks monkee balls! Nirvana should wait in line like all the other artists that are far greater Some acts should be in because of their body of work. Others, simply because of their impact on the world of music. Nirvana qualifies for the latter.

Little Rusty 17 Posted October 16, 2013 Some acts should be in because of their body of work. Others, simply because of their impact on the world of music. Nirvana qualifies for the latter. I'll agree with that, but case in point being RUSH last year who had far greater body of work as well as impact. They were snubbed a very long time, just saying a lesser band like Nirvana could easily wait a few. And speaking of deservedness (sp)..... YES & DEEP PURPLE shouldn't have to wait another minute

edjr 5,717 Posted October 16, 2013 As much as Kiss are the biggest hacks to come along ever, considering how popular they are. How can you not let them in? as far as popularity. Drizzay 649 Posted October 16, 2013 Peter Gabriel- close, but not enough good solo stuff Biko, alone, is enough to get him in the hall IMO.
Little Rusty 17 Posted October 16, 2013 Plenty of non R&R in the Rock and Roll HOF sad but true Detroit should start SOUL TRAIN Hall Of Fame as well as other cities and genres of music just to keep it real. Simply put, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is CRAP!!!
Phurfur 70 Posted October 16, 2013 The criteria for all of the Hall of Fames (Baseball, Football, Country Music, Etc.) is so lax that they are almost meaningless. When everyone is special, no one is special.

They were snubbed a very long time, just saying a lesser band like Nirvana could easily wait a few. I'm not saying Rush deserved to get in or not, but they weren't impactful at all. Nirvana's Teen Spirit single-handedly destroyed the mall rock hairband crap like Poison and Motely Crue that were dominating the rock scene at the time. They changed the entire landscape of music. I see what you mean, and what I meant was that RUSH had more impact on musicians, not the public. And 80's hair bands pretty much sucked anyway so society was pretty ripe for a change.
