Detroit is more constricting than you may think. I have at least 4 positions where the number of players available to me (that actually have jobs) is two or fewer. cmh6476 1,023 Posted February 27, 2014 Not looking to give too much strategy away, but I think the thing with this league is you know who you got, you know what you need and you just draft your best picks early then fill slots later on. Or maybe I'm wrong and why I lose every year. Or maybe that was just because my players have traditionally sucked. SPs: Landed Shields, Santana, Guthrie and Vargas and missed on Greinke. I'd have to say I'm extremely pleased with how that turned out. Any young guns that end up in the rotation this year and perform well will be to my benefit. Really could be a number of guys; Duffy, Ventura, Dwyer and Zimmer are all very close. They'll probably just let Shields walk after this year as he should command Greinke money, and with the potential of who is coming up and the fact that I believe 3 of them are out of options, it almost seems inevitable. And don't forget Hochevar and Crow were drafted early with intentions of getting them in the rotation. They may better serve the team in the pen, but lots of interesting scenarios. 1B: Hos and Butler 2B: The only option I have that's an everyday starter, interesting enough is Omar Infante. And even more interesting is that this guy goes #1 overall. SS: Alcides is an exclusive so long as I keep them pesky Brewers out. 3B: The Moose is loose, but watch out for Hunter Dozier last year's 8th overall, player out of college that will likely be with the team by '15. C: Salvy will be in several all-star games. OF: And while he's progressing slowly, the guy that's received the biggest signing bonus in Royals history is still in the minors (Starling).
