Draft Discussion Thread

Yes it is too late...

You can actually take him with your 5.08 pick...

If I am looking at this correctly, you only have to worry about Texas (Jim Mora)... His next pick isn't until 5.10 and you pick at 5.08, so put it there...

Oh crap. Forgot to check that. Can I change Martinez to Pierzynski, AJ, C, BOS or is it to late?

I would totally approve this.

I F'n hate my 3 and 4 picks, wanted Victorino over Crawford and had to pick Furcal out of necessity ,

Got me back WW. I was looking at Navarro this turn. He should get plenty of ABs in TOR.

texas has so many options just off the top of my head. and im sure there are more i dont know about if i looked at their historical rosters. must be a fun team to own.

same with detroit, boston, la i would assume.

Detroit is more constricting than you may think. I have at least 4 positions where the number of players available to me (that actually have jobs) is two or fewer.

Damn new guy. I wa hoping mujica would slide.

Lol...I didn't think he was going to last that long. I lost out on Uehara so I needed him bad. He might get some save opportunities here and there but if nothing else he will log solid innings for the Sox this year I think.

Not to mention the HOLDS he'll rack up.

The holds was what I was hoping to get from him. Solid pitcher.

Who brought this new Boston guy in. He's learning stuff way to quick. What happened to the rookie learning curve where we abuse him gor awhile.

I finally pissed someone off!

Think he'll get the starting job?

He will only start if Wong falls on his face or he forces his way into a platoon. I predict he will get 300 or so AB's.

honestly i struggled between loney and navarro last round. loney represented the greater need but i rolled the dice thinking boston already drafted 2 first basemen and you drafted a-gonz. thought youd go another direction. BAh

and im going to be a stubborn mother focker and take BPA in the supp even if i start no one at first base each day,.

Well ill put john jaso on the block if anyone needs a second catcher. Would just be looking for a backup type infielder. First second or short.

Also likely willing to part with one of my SP and/or one of my holds guys for a startable 1b' 2b or SS.

Wont be able to field a lineup without :D

WW I can afford to let v mart go for a good SP or CP. Ive got other options at 1B. I had originally picked him up for a backup catcher but didnt realize yahoo only hae him as 1B. Let me know what you think.

Not looking to give too much strategy away, but I think the thing with this league is you know who you got, you know what you need and you just draft your best picks early then fill slots later on. Or maybe I'm wrong and why I lose every year. Or maybe that was just because my players have traditionally sucked.

SPs:

Landed Shields, Santana, Guthrie and Vargas and missed on Greinke. I'd have to say I'm extremely pleased with how that turned out. Any young guns that end up in the rotation this year and perform well will be to my benefit. Really could be a number of guys; Duffy, Ventura, Dwyer and Zimmer are all very close. They'll probably just let Shields walk after this year as he should command Greinke money, and with the potential of who is coming up and the fact that I believe 3 of them are out of options, it almost seems inevitable. And don't forget Hochevar and Crow were drafted early with intentions of getting them in the rotation. They may better serve the team in the pen, but lots of interesting scenarios.

1B: Hos and Butler

2B: The only option I have that's an everyday starter, interesting enough is Omar Infante. And even more interesting is that this guy goes #1 overall.

SS: Alcides is an exclusive so long as I keep them pesky Brewers out.

3B: The Moose is loose, but watch out for Hunter Dozier last year's 8th overall, player out of college that will likely be with the team by '15.

C: Salvy will be in several all-star games.

OF: And while he's progressing slowly, the guy that's received the biggest signing bonus in Royals history is still in the minors (Starling).

I'm telling you guys, I'm going to be :own:ing this league by 2016, mark my words.

Son of a b1tch! I completely overlooked Frankie playing a few games for the O's last year.

Hopefully he'll get deported.
