gocolts 300 Posted April 7, 2014 Did you go??? If you went, I want to hear about it. Have not followed wrestling in years but I have been to some live shows and they are a decent. The ones that are on TV really kick ass. Been to a Monday Night Raw taping and it was bad ass. I am sure Wrestlemania is incredible.

patweisers44 872 Posted April 7, 2014 PPV was $69.95 If you subcribe to the WWE Network (10-12 bucks a month i think) you get all the ppvs (including Wrestlemania) as part of the deal. I think its like Netflix but it also has a live component to it. I guess it has all of the back catalogue stuff from ECW, AWA, WCW, etc etc.

Ended up giving the tickets to a friend and her son. Waiting for her to tell me how great it was. PPV was $69.95 I got it free. Had to watch on the laptop but it was free. phillybear 366 Posted April 8, 2014 It was a long build, but they finally gave the belt to the human goat Daniel Bryan. Probably for more than one day. He's more over than any guy in the federation since The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and even Hulk Hogan. His Yes!! chant is everywhere in the arenas in every sport out there, and many don't even realize what it's all about. After Brock Lesnar put an end to the Undertaker 21-0 winning streak at Wrestlemania, a Daniel Bryan and Brock Lesnar feud could really be interesting. With the Wyatts getting a huge push, the Shield still in tact, and Cesaro getting a huge rub last night, the WWE has a sh!t fock of young guys that can make for some interesting story lines. Too bad CM Punk is no longer around.

phillybear 366 Posted April 8, 2014 Seriously, do you dunderheads not get it? The story lines in wrestling are far more intricate than the majority of your standard television shows or movies. Sure, you get your athleticism and stuff, but there is nothing more fun than watching somebody improv a promo in front of a rowdy crowd on live national TV. They give you a basic outline of what you need to get across, but a lot of that stuff is improv. It's more than your typical standard fare pop culture mindless entertainment. If you watched the brilliance of people like Andy Kaufman and what they brought to the the arena, you'd appreciated the subtlety. It's watching a form of standup comedy, before they go out there and brain themselves by jumping 30 feet down onto concrete. It's funny sh!t. While we sit here and whine about how the NFL is taking away all the fun and creativity out of a sport/entertainment, here is an entity that revels in it. I am draw to it as much as I am repulsed by the direction the NFL is taking.

Do not understand how that Danial Bryan is so popular. WTF is suppose to be so great about him??? Pretty shocked they had Undertaker lose, but it least it was to Lesner and not some focking chump like Daniel Bryant. I stopped watching right as CM Punk was getting his start. So not sure about him. Never watched until she fell in love with CMPunk. Paid $75 so she could have a pic with him at ComCon. He did an Question/Answer session in one if the ballrooms. Lil Bunny asked him who "deserves" to be the next Champion? CMPunk: You earn! Deserve? Next question. It's been meh the last year. I agree that a new breed is coming up and the new talent is in the ranks. Intrest is null without the usual suspects. But it's evolving. Lil Bunny has lost interest but I'm still checking it out. Brought the daughter to see a PPV at the arena a few years back. Punk was her thing. I got a kick out if the Daniel B/ Kane dynamic. Good sh!t there. Buddy I gave tickets to last night said it was more Fawking fun than she's had at a sporting event in a long time. Half the crowd was dressed in costume. The other half had signs. Most brought in and some passed around for those on the floor. One of the signs passed around said "Hyman Taker" gotta love the genius in that.

Pretty shocked they had Undertaker lose, but it least it was to Lesner and not some focking chump like Daniel Bryant. I stopped watching right as CM Punk was getting his start. So not sure about him. By most accounts, it was one of the most well received Wrestlemanias ever. Most people gave it high marks. Daniel Bryan is about as huge as a wrestler can get right now. He's starting to leak into mainstream pop culture. Just like Hogan, Rock, Stone Cold. It's been a 2 year building story. He's a little dude with a horrific beard. He wrestles with wreckless abandon like Cactus Jack. He's a very good technician from his indie curcuit days. But the amazing thing is that pretty much the entirety of the wrestling world is on board. Usually, you have divisions, such as with Jon Cena. Half the people hate him, half the people like him. But with Bryan, he's the ultimate underdog story, as the kayfabe kids like him, the snarky online community likes him, old school fans like him. I haven't seen this unison behind a character since Steve Austin. And you have Triple H playing the Vince McMahon role of trying to foil Bryan every step of the way, and you have a compelling story line. Lastly, you have to see the audience participation. Think to images of Queen playing LiveAid and the way the people in the stadium are bouncing to their music. Or Metallica playing a South American stadium. Or maybe the zombies in World War Z. When the Yes!! chants start up in an arena, and not just wrestling arenas, during college basketball games, during college football games, MMA matches, etc, the audience is on board. But the wrestling fans are completely in sync...well, you really just have to see it. It was something with 75, 000 doing after Sunday night's title win, and even starting up the nuts RAW last night. The story lines have sucked for most of the year, but they got good the past couple of weeks. Undertaker is about to retire anyway, and he was always good about putting over somebody for the good of the sport. You can't have an unbreakable record in place, so he had to lose at some point. Admittedly, it was about as stunning as when Hulk Hogan joined the NWO. Paul Heyman is managed Brock Lesnar, and he will get a lot of heat with his mic work as he digs barbs into the fans. Heyman is good at what he does.

They really haven't spoken about why CM Punk walked away. Retired, or sabbatical, or quit due to unhappiness with the creative department. He's a throw back. The glory days of wrestling were ECW, the little promotion that Paul Heyman started up in Philadelphia and built up to a regional legend. They did some really sick stunts, just dangerous as fock. They developed a lot of guys that went on to be big players in WWE and WCW. They went bankrupt, but that was some fun sh!t.

Too bad CM Punk is no longer around. Agreed. Can't wait to see where this is headed. Just crossing my fingers this doesn't get screwed up somehow. It's all but a done deal Steve Borden (Sting) is on board also. He's probably the only considered "icon or legend" that hasn't stepped foot in a titan promotion over the last 30 years. I'll still believe it when I see it, but I am excited to see what the deal will be. For any oldtimers out there. I consider his arrival on par with Harley Race when he got there. Just seeing Harley finally cave in was a "WOW" Vince really does rule the world aspect to me. And I think I'm feeling the same way about this. 1 more note. Cecaro has been around, he's not green or wwe schooled, he's an indy guy himself. So I'm glad for his push. He's 1 of the more impressive guys I've seen in quit some time to be able to do everything. Technicle, brawl, agility, talk. He can do it all. And now with Heyman around, this could be another lightning in a bottle we're gonna see.
