robb 81 Posted June 11, 2014 If I had known I could get Matty Ice in the 8th round, I would not have taken Brees in the 2nd! Nice pick....... and I am envious!
remote controller 143 Posted June 11, 2014 I knew it was coming, just didn't know when. lol! I was glad you did this this round Fumble. Will explain later, as I was counting on it.
WhiteWonder 2,735 Posted June 11, 2014 sniped again on Ridley.
WhiteWonder 2,735 Posted June 11, 2014 i'll still say people are reaching for backup QB's but the best ball format may lend itself to doing that. I'll also mutter once again how much i despise picking in the middle. Kaepernick and Ryan were next on my list, though I am pretty high on Mr Cutler. Tons of weapons, really nice system. Ridley was my target however for this round. I nearly took him last round and I wonder if i should have... wonder if anyone would have grabbed Rudolph since no other TE's dropped. WhiteWonder 2,735 Posted June 11, 2014 oh and another thing!!! nice pick on Marvin Jones. was a target of mine in a few rounds. big upside

remote controller 143 Posted June 12, 2014 I'll take last years #10 Rb in many formats. Fred Jackson Bell was my pick, but I had a backup plan. Jackson will out man Spiller again.

He is the safest back on your squad as of that pick.
remote controller 143 Posted June 12, 2014 With health, Bell is a shoe in for 1100 combined and 10 in that offense. I see Jackson as easily capable of 900 and 8. If Spiller gets another hangnail....its goes up. (bourbon induced)
JScott 20 Posted June 12, 2014 He is the safest back on your squad as of that pick. But pairing Vereen with Ridley would have been great for No Hassle. When I took Vereen in the 5th the plan was Ridley in the sixth but the shiny new toy of Watkins was too irresistible ... lol. So I rolled that dice that Ridley would last one more round. Close but FAIL.

Fumbleweed 547 Posted June 12, 2014 Getting a second QB is NEVER the plan. It's just that several of you guys seemingly have a contest going every year to see who the last guy to pick a starting QB will be. Ryan is a tremendous value here. He should have been picked 2-3 rounds ago in a standard draft. In a real league, I might look to trade him after the draft. In the No-Hassle, he will be part of a very solid 1-2 punch with Stafford. Again, this isn't a strategy per se. It's just old school value-based drafting. In another league, I'm actually known as the guy who generally waits too long to grab a QB. It's all relative to a particular draft.

It's all relative to a particular draft. yeah it all makes sense. more so in a no hassle, best ball format. the value was certainly great.... I think in real leagues if you're looking to trade a Matt Ryan, you'll find his worth isn't as much as you might think. At least in 12 man leagues. We have had what 13? QB's drafted already with only 1 owner needing his QB and I still see 3 more startable options. maybe 4. Every owner in 12 team leagues should have a starter they feel pretty good about so working that trade becomes more difficult than in past years unless its a tip top stud. for example, Lets say i like Matt Ryan and missed out on him but I end up with Cutler as i drafted or one of the next 3 guys. If the Matt ryan owners comes to me talking trade, i likely won't be willing to part with very much at my other positions. But thats always been my mindset edit: to say its not just Matt Ryans worth in trade its any 2nd QB drafted with the intent to trade.

RicemanX 20 Posted June 12, 2014 Really hate how difficult the next 2 picks are for myself. Starting lineup is filled, looking for the first 2 backups, can go any which way, and I'm really overthinking it.
Dan 66 Posted June 12, 2014 In my first year of this draft, I thought I would be crafty and shrewd. Seeing that I was the last one without a QB, I knew that I could wait a couple more rounds to get my QB. Everyone subsequently picked up their second QBs to complement stud starters, leaving me to pick over the starting QB from Tulane and Harvard. So no more waiting. That said, I'm quite content picking up a guy who finished in the top 6 in most scoring formats last year . . . in the 8th round. QB Phillip Rivers RB Matt Forte RB Toby Gerhart RB Knowshon Moreno WR Keenan Allen WR Michael Crabtree WR Terrance Williams TE Julius Thomas I think I'm content, although I would have made one change in hindsight to what I did. I'll share that later, though, I think.

robb 81 Posted June 12, 2014 At 8.10 it was either Robinson or West. I went with the second year player on the more potent offense versus the rookie. Robinson has more competition, but my hope is by mid-year he has the job in-hand. If not, I wasted a pick. West was a great choice...good job Vikings4Ever. RicemanX 20 Posted June 12, 2014 was debating between Shorts and Hopkins for my pick, decided to go with the #1 WR. Good to see that I was not off on Hopkins.
Fumbleweed 547 Posted June 12, 2014 Shorts is a good value right here. Really good.
RicemanX 20 Posted June 12, 2014 And I know I am reaching on Lamar Miller, but I do think it'll be a RBBC with moreno with each RB getting 15-20 touches a game.
Vikings4ever 550 Posted June 12, 2014 Liked the Miller pick, sounds like he's challenging for the starting job, I was hoping to target him next turn. West: A new OC that like to run, a strong offensive line, they (probably) lost their stud WR for the year, and he's behind a back who could get hurt spitting into the wind? Me likey. Hopkins: I was hoping for Golden Taint here, but Hopkins had a good rookie year yardage wise with crap at QB. Fitz is no miracle worker, but cant put up decent numbers when starting. JScott 20 Posted June 12, 2014 9.03 WR Hakeem Nicks, Carolina
robb 81 Posted June 12, 2014 Nicks....... I know, maybe a BIG reach. But, my thinking is Cam has to throw the ball to someone and I hear the change of scenery is doing him good too. As my #4 WR, all I need are a few good games from him, not a week-in-week-out expectation. Would be interested in other thoghts on Nicks. I had 2 or 3 other options I was considering, but ..... (sorry I was so slow, I was in a Medical Staff meeting and couldn't get out)
