Bernard Pierce

Recommended Posts

I think after this week, Forsett has established himself as the main guy, Pierce will likely timeshare with Taliaferro making this the ultimate 3 way RBBC from hell. I'd rather Pierce not come back, then at least Forsett and Taliaferro owners have some value.

smarten up dumbies...there's no shame in waiting and seeing what is going to happen. No one knows everything, especially know it alls...

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said he plans to keep using all three of his running backs, reports ESPN.com. Baltimore is the only team that has three backs with over 30 carries.

Justin Forsett has run for 297 yards, whileLorenzo Taliaferro has gained 167 yards andBernard Pierce, 143.

"Let's be good with three different guys," Harbaugh told ESPN.com. "That's what we need to do."

Baltimore is averaging 4.7 yards per carry, which ranks ninth.

"We'll roll those guys in there," Harbaugh said. "I'd like to see Bernard get a few more snaps. I'd like to see Lorenzo get a few more snaps. It would sure help if we get a few more snaps. If we get more snaps, then everybody is going to get more chances. You earn the right to run more plays. We have to earn that right by executing."

More condescending and insults.

BTW...most of us have shown we are plenty smart by continuing to go with Forsett who continues to put up points and will likely continue in his role and doing that.

The whole point of FF is to try to predict future outcomes. By the time things shake out, it's too late. But feel free to watch from the sidelines to see what happens.....kinda like Pierce.

When I drafted Ray Rice & Bernard Pierce, I thought I had a lock on the BAL RB slot. The fantasy gods are cruel.

I'm hanging onto Pierce for one more week (desperation). But I'm starting to doubt he'll ever get 20+ carries again like he did in Week 2. What's he gonna do? Have a monster game with limited touches and suddenly win back the job? Forrset is averaging an AMAZING 5.9 ypc and the most carries he's had all season is 14 in a single game.

Throw in Taliaferro, and this is the ugliest RBBC situation you've ever seen.

What is wild is that Bobby Rainey got cut by the Ravens last year. Had they held on the would have had a fine feature back. Instead he comes into to town with TB in a revenge matchup. I think Rainey lights it up this week.

I dropped Pierce but feel he improves as season goes on. 40% of the run game still wont help much in fantasy.

That's all PooH knows how to do really, he's been a condescending wanker to anyone who disagrees with him for as long as I can remember posting here.

Ok I now feel comfortable anointing forsett the lead. I'll eat crow on that but I'll stick to my story that it wasn't quite clear in past 2 weeks. Didn't see forsett in that light, especially cuz I'm not in PPR, but he keeps producing while Bernard looks doodey...and the 3rd guy is not even a token...

Any new observations on Pierce?

Since the Rice thing went down:

22 carries leading the team vs PIT, but not a lot of production for all that.

Injured.

Then comes back but is inactive/unused.

Then plays vs Indy in a 3-way split with Forsett.

Then vs TB is in a 2-way split with Forsett.

Forsett is extremely productive, Pierce not so much but does get some red zone work.

--- Does this get any better?

I don't think he is a bad hold right now. Still getting some opportunity and Forsett is not a 20+ carry type back.

Looks like he is back in front of Taliaferro in the pecking order and would be in line if Forsett did break down.

Forsett has been underused by several teams since Seattle traded for Lynch. Dude has always ran hard and impressively. The main reason I didn't jump on picking him up was because coaches never seem to give him a chance or stick with him. It's great to see him finally getting a shot.

And Pierce focking sucks. Taliaferro should get the mop up work.

It's weird about Forsett, right? If Rice had not gone haywire in the elevator, he would be the primary guy in this offense and Forsett would likely be on the street.

For sure.

He's small and doesn't have good top end speed, but he's quick as hell, has good vision and runs STRONG for such a little guy. College teammate and best friend of Lynch and has some of his demeanor.

Unless I'm facing him I hope he continues tearing it up this year.

Just got dropped in my league, I think he's clearly fallen out of favour with Forsett as the lead guy.

Perhaps - i still think they will split carries, their is a reason forsett has never been a volume guy.

The rushing TD is the only thing that saved Pierce from having a poor outing. Forsett seems to be the only guy worth owning at this point. Shame too, I could have had him, but I went with the Taliaferro hype machine after he had a 90yd 1 TD outing in week 3.

Forsett is undervalued, but Taliaferro even more. Most improved o-line, Forsett is one of the most consistent RB2s, but Taliaferro is a pounder AND big play threat, and every team wants an RB like that. More upside in re-drafts than a Jerick McKinnon going forward. Pierce? He done.

epitome of the level of disshit analysis dished out on this board, not a single thing rooted in any type of logic. Congrats...

LOGIC dictates that no one knows what this situation is going to be. The next week if not 2 will tell. Anyone chriping anything else is talking jiberish...

HTH

Been winning so many games since I left this bored.

Roto - Ravens coach John Harbaugh explained that Bernard Pierce was a healthy scratch in Week 8 because the Ravens believed going with Justin Forsett and Lorenzo Taliaferro gave them their "best chance to win.

Forsett was solid as the lead back and Taliaferro provided a spark off the bench, consistently executing in short-yardage situations, scoring twice on red-zone runs, and even leading the Ravens in receiving yards. "We’re just doing what we try to do as far as our personnel and getting guys up that we felt gave us the best chance to win the game," Harbaugh said. "We were jammed up. We did what we thought we had to do." Pierce can be dropped in 12-team leagues.

I concur. His value has reached rock bottom.
