Belicheck is the Wilt Chamberlain of the NFL... Dude is so ahead of the game they have to change the rules to control him

Couple fluke plays... had the lead twice in the 4th Q... didn't work out... How many rebuilds have the giants gone through over the Pats run since 01?

Are you serious?

What was I wrong about...keep in mind taking the whole conversation in context and not just this quote (as it was about his years before Brady)

So two fluke plays in different games kept you from winning two Super Bowls? That's it? If you want, we can take that trip down memory lane. Now acknowledge that was a dumb statement.

Yes, thats it. Couple bad bounces... Anything can happen in a single game...

What about the part where the defense went from the #17 scoring defense to the #6 scoring defense and generated 13 more turnovers with the addition of guys like Vrabel? And FA acquisition A. Smith rushed for 1100 yards and 12 tds where they hadn't had anyone rush for more than 600 and 4 the prior year? And deactivating prima donna/cancer Terry Glenn, who was their leading receiver the year before, 4 games into the season? Any of that have anything to do with Belichick?

Right, so Brady's turnovers didn't happen.

Wikipedia - New England Patriots

... greatest team, owner, coach, and quarterback during the greatest, most lucrative period in NFL history. There was no "off-season" with the New England Patriots. Fans and foes alike could not get enough, talk enough, or debate enough about just how great the Patriots were... Brady vs. Montana, Belichick vs. Lombardi, and the Patriot's Dynasty vs. Green Bay/Dallas/Pittsburgh/and San Francisco...

And the Giants D line didn't pulverize Brady all day long. And those two fluke plays weren't touchdowns. Steve Smith 3rd and 11 happened after Tyrees catch, and Brandon Jacobs 4th and one was after Manninghams. And a Arrogant Bellicheck went for it on fourth down before the half instead of kicking a field goal. What, was he afraid of Eli? And I guess blitzing on Plaxicos game winner was a stroke of genius. And let's not forget Welker wuss ing out. Ask Giselle.

stuff happens...how many rebuilds have the giants gone through?

Hey, if we didn't have the best coach in the NFL, Coughlin would be on a shortlist of guys i'd want coaching the pats...

Rebuild? They had the best record and HFA in 2008, 8-8 in 09, 10 wins in 10, Super Bowl in 11, so one. One rebuild that is currently taking place. Nice try. Save that weak shite for jets fans.

LOL... I'm not even sure what you are arguing... Your half decade long rebuild puts the giants on the same footing as the patriots? No one agrees with it, but think whatever you want

people that don't like him don't give him enough credit and people that love him, give him too much.

I'm not saying BB isn't a good coach... But his first 6 years as a HC he went: 6-10, 7-9,7-9,11-5, 5-11 and 5-11. Then Tom Brady shows up and he's all of the sudden a Head Coaching genius.

Phil Jackson was a genius too - as long as he had a MJ, Kobe Bryant or Shaq. Just saying.

I really don't get Jackson. He has all the money in the world, titles out the ass - why doesn't he just sail off into the sunset and enjoy life? By staying in the game all he can do is prove what all already suspect - that he isn't the genius he thinks, more of a lucky ass caretaker.

his genius is continally being competitive in the modern salary cap era... He had managed to stay on top doing it a bunch of different ways, makes the tough personel decisions, and makes the fans scratch their heads but know he is one step ahead of the competition.

Jordan and Pippen

Kobe and Shaq

did it matter who else they played with?

True... But staying ahead of the game is made so much easier when you have the greatest QB of all time.... Like I said - did he all of the sudden figure out how to stay ahead of game when Brady arrived, or was it just 7 years in the works? He was in Cleveland plenty long enough to turn it around - was rather awful there.

I think BB is a very good coach and personnel guy.

He has adapted to things very well and uses the system to his advantage.

But most of the best coaches will be associated with having great players.

And Phil is a great example...not much of a guru when he is trying to put together a team and doesn't have players like he had in the past.

what happened to brady being a system qb ?

now he's carried bill ...

Im sure there were some who called him that...I wouldn't be one of them.

And I don't think he carried him...just said that he was not having such success before he got there and his numbers as head coach show that.

To be fair though, hard to judge any coach who had to coach the Browns.

absolutely.

and don't forget what a big part ownership plays too... for as much as Brady has been a key component to BB success in NE, CLE ownership (Art Modell) suddenly pulling the rug out of the CLE franchise was a key component to the failures.

CLE was 11-5 the year before "The Move" and competing with the top tier team in their conference. That team WAS turned around - they were a contender... CLE started out 3-1... lost 3 straight and "The Move" was announced. Ownership tore that team/franchise/city apart.

There was a time when the Pats were a much more ball control, good defense team. But when that crybaby Polian went and had the rules changed because Peyton couldn't beat BB, and made the game all about the pass, BB and Tom Beady adjusted and beat them at their own game. That' to me will always be the proof of the greatness and competitive spirit of the BB and Brady combo. Years from now when someone mentions Peyton in the same breath as Brady I will laugh.
