KSB2424 3,173 Posted April 27, 2015 Only a Crackboys fan would say it's okay for a guy to hit a woman if she was coked up or didn't get beaten up enough. Stay classy, Dall-Ass. Who said that? You don't think it's wholly possible this woman who was drunk and geeked out wasn't going apeshit on this dude and he was yes holding her down, push her away, etc. And her story is way over the top hyperbole meant at either getting back at a him or trying to get a pay day after he broke up with her? I think that's just as probable as him deciding he'll beat the crap out of an ex GF in the manner she stated. Luckily for all the justice system weeds all of that out for the most part. Unluckily Roger flips coins.

As did a judge who convicted him.

Mike Honcho 5,430 Posted April 28, 2015 Again, we don't' know - neither do you. It's called speculation, and that's all you have. I already pointed out that maybe he settled to avoid gun charges or drug charges. Maybe he settled to avoid a costly trial - who knows. There was so much damaging evidence, so much violence proven in the pics that the DA decided not to pursue Hardy on his own? What a horrible, horrible failure then on the DA to executed the job of the office. With such damaging, non deniable picture proof of an attack he chose to let a violent offender walk. Wow. Because without the accuser cooperating, all you have are pictures, and nobody but Hardy to say how they happened. Not a horrible failure by the DA, he in no way could win a case like that nothing he could do. Also there is the issue of the 6th amendment and the right to face an accuser, though there are work-arounds with an uncooperative witness, it's a huge uphill battle in a case like this "Wow" give me a break, this happens in our justice system, bad people get to go free. Hardy's lucky to have the privilege of getting to come back to the NFL at all.

Hardy's lucky to have the privilege of getting to come back to the NFL at all. Still seems weak. There were police officers on the scene, investigators in the process and no telling what else to verify the validity of any pictures. Like I said, any small woman beat to hell like alleged is going to look like hell - be pretty obvious. It's possible the bad "guy" here said the rich football player (with no history of abuse) hit me, got paid and is living and laughing it up all the way to the bank... As noted sports columnist (and attorney) Mike Florio said, even after the settlement N. Holder could of sued Hardy in Civil court - she chose not to, why? Why would a woman who was violently and viciously beat and disrespected not get what she could have coming to her?

Why would a woman who was violently and viciously beat and disrespected not get what she could have coming to her? She also testified that Hardy threw her in the bathroom and later on to a futon filled with guns. She also said he placed his hands on her throat and threatened to kill her. That's not beat to hell, you are spinning the facts of the case. Police could testify to what they know, not what they were told...ie the evidence suggest DV, this is the state of the room. Medical Examiner could describe the injuries, and say they were consistent with DV, but couldn't say it was. And since we haven't seen the pictures, it's impossible to know how bad they were. So again, with the accuser, a huge longshot to get a conviction...or we could go with your theory that the DA lets violent offenders walk the street because's he a "horrible failure". You don't know what the settlement said...like, part of the settlement was that she couldn't sue. You're reaching man.

The State does not need the testimony of the accuser to pursue domestic abuse charges. It helps certainly, but not a requirement. The comment I made about letting a violent offender walk either went over your head or you mistook its meaning. I said it in sarcasm - clearly the DA's office did not do that. Which goes to the speculation that 2 + 2 didn't add up to 4 with Ms. Holder's claims. The reach here is the continuous insistence on several to believe the word of a crack head junkie who skipped town as soon as the green landed in her account. Cruzer 1,996 Posted May 28, 2015 Any word on when negotiations with Ray McDonald will start? Not yet.... Stupid to take this long... I don't think there was an "original statute", more of this is the one size fits all penalty we had out for DV, and it was mostly just arbitrary.
NewbieJr 541 Posted July 10, 2015 Dallas is an Adrian Peterson trade away from having the greatest talent acquisition off season in sports history. 14-2 or bust. They also have a disgruntled Dez Bryant holding out and Rolando McLain and Greg Hardy suspended four games. They signed a lot of talent that no one else wanted because of character issues. It's a risky endeavor. Could pay off, could be a disaster.

And it was a 2 game penalty maximum - as outlined in the Personal Conduct Policy (at the time). Hardy's team is still considering taking the NFL to court on this. They should be thanking their lucky stars I really don't think they did. The NFL had a house of cards, and they knew it. Heck even the DA of Mecklenburg County saw this case for what it was - that's why they knew pursuing it was futile... But I do think Hardy's team just needs to let this go and focus on his future from game 5 and on. Saves us a bit of cap space too.
