Preseason Week 3 Discussion

The entire first quarter and a half of that game was the Steve Smith Sr show.

I think Smith puts up respectable numbers this year. He knows it's his last year and he is the only credible threat in the receiving game there.

Yeah. He did a textbook pile drive.

It just proved all the Harbaughs are crazy.

I think it was retribution. Courtney Upshaw did a similar move to Alfred Morris earlier. At least Upshaw slammed Morris on his back though.

- Cooks over 100 catches this year, book it solid. love how they use this kid, he's in the perfect offense.

I am going to find it amusing if Cooks scores 10+ tds. There were so many people saying they would draft him higher but his td ceiling is capped. Im still not sure how anyone came to this conclusion since he was only a rookie last year. An elite athlete who looks like he also a very good receiver, plus one of the best QBs in the game throwing to him as his #1 option. That doesnt logically seem like a low td ceiling situation to me.

Drew Bree's has yet to produce an elite WR. Colston was very good, not elite. They like to spread it around in that O. I remember whe they got Meachem. Looked like a match made in fantasy heaven.

Problem is his size. Going back to 05, the only 5'10 (or smaller) WRs to score 10+ TDs are Antonio Brown, Randall Cobb, Wes Welker, and Lance Moore. Not impossible, but fairly unlikely.

Thats because Brees has never had an elite receiver. The only elite receiving talent he has ever had is Jimmy Graham.

I agree...and I'm banking on it as I used a 2nd rounder on him in ppr

This kid is a brown/beckham....he's too quick....in and out ...start/stop...those two catches he had today displayed what they can do all day with him....he has a gear u have to respect and once he gets you going he can stop and come back to the ball and u can't stop it ....this kid is a great toy for Brees and Payton and they need him

Latavious looks mediocre. And looks like they lost a starting right tackle for the year.

He has nowhere to run. Cant do anything when you are getting hit 3 yards deep. He looked good on the one run to the left side. Neither team looked good at all. I was hoping Johnson would get more work early but that fumble may have cost him some snaps. It will probably take a few games for him to get significant play time without an injury, but I do expect him to be a big part of the offense eventually. Of course there is always the possibility that because I drafted him heavily it means there is no chance in hell he will see the field. Sorry if I screwed anyone else who drafted him.

Yeah, both olines tonight are getting embarrassed. I didn't draft any RBs but I did take Palmer and Fitz late. Ugh.

Oh and Kalil Mack is a Nightmare beast.

They did, and Watson was having a strong camp having seized that job from Austin Howard. watching the game on DVR, Murray really had nowhere to run on a few of those, as there were missed blocks/assignments galore. The one play they blocked well he busted off for 11 yards. The Cards first team defense is pretty stout, and you wonder how they play the run so well with the full time nickel package they played. Definitely not hanging my head over this one.

Cooper looks smooth and quick.

The raiders might have nailed another one. Mack, Carr & Cooper will anchor that team for a decade.

Another name you may hear is their third rounder from last season, left guard Gabe Jackson. Teaming with LT Donald Penn and C Rodney Hudson the left side of the Raider line is actually respectable.
