IGotWorms 4,058 Posted September 25, 2015 Good lord washington sucks. Don't want to overreact too much but I see it holding down Jones' value quite a bit
NewbieJr 541 Posted September 25, 2015 Didn't realize how bad Cousins is. Yeah, that'll hurt Jones a bit. It sure did last night. But you had to like what you saw.

But you had to like what you saw.Agreed, they played terrible, and if you think about it. Jones night came down to 1 play. When he fumbled going into the endzone, that turned 6 points into -1 point in my leagues. That 1 play was a 7 point swing and the difference between the 3 points he got, and the 10 points, he could of had.Again, wash played terrible, and he still out snapped morris by alot. Future looks good.

IGotWorms 4,058 Posted September 25, 2015 I think that's the biggest takeaway, he played the majority of the snaps a week after it being about 50/50 And their offense looked like sh1t and they lost. Obviously you can't pin that on Jones but I'd temper the enthusiasm a bit
R8RMick 242 Posted September 25, 2015 Kirk Cousins is back up level at best.
brotherbock 349 Posted September 25, 2015 And their offense looked like sh1t and they lost. Obviously you can't pin that on Jones but I'd temper the enthusiasm a bit They did look like crap, and even then, only a freakish fumble (i.e. he's not known to be a fumbler) kept him from a 10+ pt night. Even when the team got down early and they didn't run a lot. And even after the fumble, they kept him in. The play didn't turn out well for me this week--I was swinging for the fences to beat a good team--but I'm happy to have Jones in the league I have him in. dehaven123 31 Posted September 25, 2015 I forgive you i rescind my apology. Thompson is clearly the passing down back, as i speculated.

Kent 228 Posted September 26, 2015 Morris' contract is up after this season. He's a goner. And Gruden's job is on the line if they don't win. Gruden is surely seeing what all of us are seeing. He has a monster in Matt Jones. He will play him because he needs to win now./ Morris is still a nice player and won't be phased totally out. But as the season progresses, the 50/50 split will start to widen more and more in Jones' favor. Gruden is in year two of a five year contract and they hired him knowing it was a rebuild. He's not going anywhere.

brotherbock 349 Posted September 26, 2015 lot of people either took him latttteeee or plucked him off the wire. lot of others missed and are jealous I'm in one pretty volatile small bench league where I missed him off waivers. I'm hoping this game might get him dropped there
American Chewy 98 Posted September 26, 2015 I don't have him but I see the talent. he and David Johnson are the future at rb in this league but I fear both players won't be confident starts for maybe the whole year. for different reasons though....Matt has a better path but his team sucks so the game script will get away from him a lot. David looks like a 2-3 headed split for a while. I hope I'm wrong and both guys get 20 carries/gm a month from now.

Week 15 against Buffalo doesn't look good, I'll admit. But @CHI and @PHI the weeks before and after look okay (Philly's run D is overinflated so far). Plus ATL, TB, NE, NO...Jones could do well there if he keeps making headway on Morris.

It's not the run defenses I'd be worried about, it's falling behind in games like they did thursday.
MDC 7,401 Posted September 26, 2015 It's not the run defenses I'd be worried about, it's falling behind in games like they did thursday. The early safety really hurt - gave the ball back to NY and were down 9-0 like that. The Skins will also get DJax back soon which should help. I expect Jones will be regularly getting 15-20 touches and putting up high end flex #s at worst by years end.
brotherbock 349 Posted September 26, 2015 It's not the run defenses I'd be worried about, it's falling behind in games like they did thursday. Fair enough. But that same schedule has those same teams: PHI twice, CHI, DAL twice, TB, NO, and add CAR. That's eight games that don't look too daunting so far in terms of opposing offense either. Maybe the late Dallas games if Dez and Romo are back, but they could be so far out of the running that they may shut either or both down instead. It's only three games so far, a lot left to decide. But that schedule still doesn't look threatening.
