..so to me it's the Giants division to lose.

Oh for sure - anything less and it's a major choke job by them.

2 of Dallas' next 3 games are against the Panthers and Packers. If they lose both they can go 7-9 at best. Maybe they split but then you're assuming the sweep the Skins and beat the Jets? I just think they're in too deep a hole to dog themselves out. I also have no faith in the Skins so to me it's the Giants division to lose.

We have to split one of the next 2 games - then take care of our nemesis Washington, who we always seem to lose to once. .. The Jets aren't nearly the concern Buffalo is. We get NY at home and they look rather blah.. Buffalo, on the road, late December - that will be tough.

Their schedule isn't a cakewalk either - they close with the Panthers and Vikes before the Eagles. But they should be able to at worst split their remaining 6 and win the division at 8-8.

Yep. The Giants are in the driver's seat. Plus, they're relatively healthy, JPP is back and they're coming off the week 11 bye (latest bye of all the NFC east teams)

Go Cowboys.

If their defense holds up I can see them taking it. They have been playing pretty good as of late. Just have to hope Beckham doesn't get injured

I think MB said they were getting guys healthy and back too - so I'm sure that will help.

Amukamara will be the big one coming back. Going to allow more blitzing

All the games from here on out are big. But maybe none bigger than the Giants v. Washington Sunday. If the Skins can pull the upset - the entire division will really be in a tailspin.

Actually the Skins are in there just as much. While I think the Giants are better, the Skins are a different team at home and play there the next 2 games against division opponents.

Wow - you're really downing the homer kool aid this holiday season... The Skins shot is no where near as good as NY's - primarily bcoz Washington needs help, a lot of help - NY controls their own destiny.... If Wash loses either of their next two - we can officially put them to pasture.

Apparently you need a lesson in "controlling your own destiny" . Skins do not need any help. I agree that losing against the Giants would be huge.

Do the Giants control their own destiny - meaning if they win out, do they not win the division? Also meaning Wash need NY to lose - granted, it's to them - but they still need help. I think I have it down... Apparently you don't though if you think the Skins chances are just as good as NY's.... BTW - how's that 9-7 prediction you insisted would win this division look? I noticed you keep running away from it.

You are still lost. If either wins out they win the division, end of discussion. That is "controlling your own destiny".

Still in play. Although your definition of "controlling your own destiny" has been blown to smithereens.

Not all - but what is smithereens is your delusional pipe dream that the Skins can get to 9-7.... Which by winning it at 9-7, is what you really mean. How do I know? I know bcoz you've already said you don't think NY can get it done - you said you've no faith (basically) in Coughlin holding it together. Dallas? They're clearly not getting to 9-7 - and for damn sure you don't believe the train wreck in Philly is.

So what you really mean by 9-7 is that the Skins can get to 9-7... Pffft, talk about a pipe dream.

Bottom line is, if any of these four pathetic teams can go on a mini-run and win three in a row, they become the frontrunner. This is wide open.

In theory - yes...... Here's the problem - the remaining road for all 3 contention teams are equally difficult.

Washington (4-5): @Carolina, Giants, Dallas, @Chicago, Buffalo, @Philly, @Dallas - do you see 5 more wins in there? :nono:

Philly (4-5): Bucs, @Detroit, @NE, Buffalo, Arizona, Washington, @Giants - do you see 5 more wins, especially w/Bradford out? :nono:

New York (5-5): @Washington, Jets, @Miami, Carolina, @Minnesota, Philly - do you see 4 more wins in there? Ok here, maybe - but it's very iffy. :dunno:

Not saying anything about Dallas' chances to run the table or even go 6-2 down the stretch.... I am saying 8-8, or even 7-9 has a real shot at winning the East.

I'm too lazy to do the math and look at the remaining schedules. Is it conceivable that 7-9 wins this mess?

Yes.. In fact, I'd say the chances are greater 7-9 takes it than 9-7.

The Giants have a one game lead so THEY will take it all if they win out.

I know it is kinda a cripple fight but it is pretty cool that all 4 teams legit think they can win the division.

True, And the Redskins will take it if THEY win out. :dunno:

Why is the concept of controlling your destiny so friggin hard for some to comprehend?

Is this accurate? I know that if the skins win this week, they'll be tied. If both then won out, who has the tiebreaker?

The talk of any team in the East winning out is about as stupid and pointless as talking about Bigfoot.

* I think most would agree it's NY's division to lose - they have a clear advantage on several fronts.

* I think most would agree that Philly is done. Not only do they have no qb, but there now appears to be whispers of inner turmoil - some even calling out Murray for his lack of effort.

* Wash / Dallas? Pick one. Of the two - I think most would still take Dallas' chances over Washington's to get to 8-8.

* I still think there is about a 45% chance 7-9 wins the division.

"most"? One win against the lowly Dolphins has you high. Carolina, at Wash, at GB are the next 3 losses for the girls. I love Romo but he'll be lucky to play the remainder of the season.

Not at all - it's a national perspective on just how good most think this team is with Romo in the saddle. A team that was on it's way to 2-0 when he went out, a team that wins on the road his 1st game back, a team that went 12-4 last year and took GB to the gun in the Divisional round... Yea, most do.. The only one who continues to be delusional is - well, you.

The team around him is obviously poor. The Colts are 3-0 without Luck. Steelers 3-2 without Rothlesisberger. All around the league, top quarterbacks are going down and teams seem to manage to stay afloat. Cowboy fans have used Romo's injury to excuse how badly they've sucked this year. It's lame and more of a testament to how poorly their roster is constructed.

There in lies the catch: either Romo actually is as good as they hype and all the naysayers have been wrong, or he really isn't all that and the team around him just sucks.... Can't be both.

I don't think a team with this line, Dez, Witten, and our front 4 can be considered bad.. But for sure we have a serious problem not winning with Romo gone. Maybe it's Garrett - that's where I'd start. Bcoz you are right, no reason we should not win at least some of those games.... Indy, Pitt, Denver all winning with backups - total bs we can't.

Without a doubt the Cowboys are currently the most dangerous team in the division right now. They've weathered many storms and survived, they're just now rested and building confidence. If they beat the Panthers tomorrow, look out!

I'm sorry but I don't want that to happen. I want the Panthers and the patriots to go undefeated and meet up in the super bowl for an undefeated team super bowl.

There's no catch. The quarterbacks I listed are both better than, or at the very least, just as good as, Romo. Yet, they've built a team that can still compete. It's not just talent. When Dallas decides to draft guys everyone passed on because of character issues (Gregory, Collins), sign guys who would be in jail if not for paying off their victims (Hardy), and retain mentally unstable players (Bryant), they are stuck with the kind of players who thrive in good times, but fall apart when facing a challenge. They aren't built for tough times. They aren't mentally tough people. Without their quarterback, they lost a few games and then started fighting with their coaches and teammates and the media. Pointing fingers. Instead of uniting and rallying together. The Pats went 11-5 the year they lost Brady their first game. Because it was a well constructed roster with quality men on it.

This I agree with. If they can knock off the undefeated Panthers, I think they'll only lose one more game (@Green Bay). And win the division.

I said the Jones' blundered badly with their backup QB strategy in an earlier thread. A whole bunch of you morons wanted to argue that 'Good QBs are hard to find" or "Lots of teams don't even have a decent first string QB" or "Cassell has won before"

They gambled that Romo wouldn't miss any time and lost. They put the team in bad spot, and are just lucky the division is so weak.

and as bad as you say they are, they'll most likely finish the season better than your ring less team. :D
