The guy belittles the military. Makes them hold umbrellas for him when there's a slight drizzle. Takes weeks to even acknowledge the VA scandal. Cutting troops and saying they are no longer need and will be discharged. Even the ones who were currently overseas got letters saying they were discharged when they got back. The negotiations with terrorists to get Bergdahl back after countless men were killed to get him back only to let him get pack paid for all his time in capture and for him to escape being court martialed. THAT worms is why troops hate Obama. There's tons more but those are ones that come to mind at this moment

That may be the case back in the older days, but I can honestly say the smartest folks I've been around in my military and civilian career have been soldiers. Especially in the reserves, you see E4s with masters in engineering.

 

I've known more Ivy League guys in the military, Rhodes scholars, you name it.

For the record I never suggested the good doctor was wrong about the military hating Obummer. The good doctor got confused on that point (it's okay though, he's probably still thinking about that particularly challenging surgery from last Friday).

You certainly have those types. There's no denying that. A lot of your army and marines are those types (with respect to the men here who are former army and marines). It's just the asvab scores for army and marines are lower than branches like the Air Force. Some of the smartest people I know are military or former military. A good bit of physicians and surgeons come from the military to civilian world and blow those physicians out of the water in terms of experience and medical knowledge. A lot of your NASA employees are Air Force. Knew a sergeant major who had 2 masters (forgot what they were in). In my experience, you have a lot more dumb people in the civilian world than you do in the military.

The biggest problem is that the last couple Democrat Presidents put the troops in harms way, same as the Republicans. The Dems try to limit what they can do once there, which increases the risk they face. It's a real problem, and a big part of the reason the military seems to always hate Democrat Presidents. Add in that Democrats are far more likely to reduce military spending / numbers, and there's no reason for them to not hate Democrats.

A big thing that p1ssed troops off was when the budget didn't get done and troops weren't getting paid but had to show up to work (or if they were down range they still had to go out on combat missions). In reality, troops and vets need better treatment from America as a whole. The president needs to start that but he seems to be preoccupied with getting a traitor back and outlawing guns.
