Secret CIA assessment says Russia was trying to help Trump win White House

They have been supporting Trump for at least 5 years? I would love to see how.

Intel chiefs presented Trump with claims of Russian efforts to compromise him

(CNN)Classified documents presented last week to President Obama and President-elect Trump included allegations that Russian operatives claim to have compromising personal and financial information about Mr. Trump, multiple US officials with direct knowledge of the briefings tell CNN.

The allegations were presented in a two-page synopsis that was appended to a report on Russian interference in the 2016 election. The allegations came, in part, from memos compiled by a former British intelligence operative, whose past work US intelligence officials consider credible. The FBI is investigating the credibility and accuracy of these allegations, which are based primarily on information from Russian sources, but has not confirmed many essential details in the memos about Mr. Trump.

The classified briefings last week were presented by four of the senior-most US intelligence chiefs -- Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, FBI Director James Comey, CIA Director John Brennan, and NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers.

One reason the nation's intelligence chiefs took the extraordinary step of including the synopsis in the briefing documents was to make the President-elect aware that such allegations involving him are circulating among intelligence agencies, senior members of Congress and other government officials in Washington, multiple sources tell CNN.

These senior intelligence officials also included the synopsis to demonstrate that Russia had compiled information potentially harmful to both political parties, but only released information damaging to Hillary Clinton and Democrats. This synopsis was not an official part of the report from the intelligence community case about Russian hacks, but some officials said it augmented the evidence that Moscow intended to harm Clinton's candidacy and help Trump's, several officials with knowledge of the briefings tell CNN.

The two-page synopsis also included allegations that there was a continuing exchange of information during the campaign between Trump surrogates and intermediaries for the Russian government, according to two national security officials.

Sources tell CNN that these same allegations about communications between the Trump campaign and the Russians, mentioned in classified briefings for congressional leaders last year, prompted then-Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid to send a letter to FBI Director Comey in October, in which he wrote, "It has become clear that you possess explosive information about close ties and coordination between Donald Trump, his top advisors, and the Russian government -- a foreign interest openly hostile to the United States."

We wouldn't be in this mess if you hadn't put up such an unlikable witch to go against him. Good job.

So what's the big takeaway so far? They tried to, attempted, to compromise him?

Even if none of its true, it's now an official war between the intelligence agencies and Trump.

We cannot have this happening in this country for the next four-eight years.

It's time to get Pence ready. He might be president before the end of the month

Months ago we read that source saying Russia had compromised him with photos or something already. Is this bad or is it awesome?

I agree it's ugly either way.

Something has to give and even if(relax...big if) Trump is now removed...heads of these agencies may have to go as well.

Pence is a far right nut...would prefer him to Trump. Would prefer he knew too and it goes down to Ryan.

At least if this out there, he cant be blackmailed with it. Just hope they don't have more shtt on him, which I admit is looking highly unlikely at this point.

I think this might be one of the relevant passages.

One which had borne fruit for them was to exploit TRUMP’s personal obsessions and sexual perversion in order to obtain suitable ‘kompromat’ (compromising material) on him. Accoding to Source D, where s/he had been present, TRUMP’s (perverted) conduct in Moscow included hiring the presidential suite of the Ritz Carlton Hotel, where he knew President and Mrs OBAMA (whom he hated) had stayed on one of their official trips to Russia, and defiling the bed where they had slept by employing a number of prostititutes to perform a ‘goldern showers’ (urination) show in front of him. The hotel was know to be under FSB control with microphones and concealed cameras in all the main rooms to record anything they wanted to.

Focking dirty old bastard. :overhead:

I believe you're referencing the Mother Jones article yes?

http://m.motherjones.com/politics/2016/10/veteran-spy-gave-fbi-info-alleging-russian-operation-cultivate-donald-trump

In terms of good/bad...this is bad. Regardless of the legitimacy of the entire document, there's simply no way the POTUS and intelligence agencies are in-fighting.

If it's BS, this would be the downfall of the media and the intelligence agencies.

If it's true, we're looking at a situation worse than Watergate.

In essence, we have 10 days to figure it all out too

He took intel from kremlin on Clinton and political rivals. That may actually be treason and I say that without a hint of partisanship.

Seems to be a long game that Russia and trump's people set up years ago.

Apparently they've got stuff to blackmail him, perverted sex acts and so forth.

My question is, in all seriousness, is how do you compromise this guy with personal or financial info? He's shameless first of all, so him worrying about any sex stuff, as long as it's legal, getting out woukdnt be enough to compromise him. As far as financial stuff goes, what's not to know? He's been sued and declared bankruptcy many times. I'd assume most of his dealings are out there already. Maybe they took a shot when he cared about that stuff early on.

Let me rephrase. Obviously it's bad in terms of good or bad.

But from a comedy/entertainment point of view, it may be so awesome that good/bad doesn't matter.

This report even names actual names.

Carter Page, Trump adviser, meeting with Kremlin. No idea who that is, but the public will be able to track down this and determine if true

Do you put Pence in there?

Nobody voted for him as president and trump hasn't even been sworn in yet.

Can't hardly have another election though, right?

I'd almost go to the third in line unless you could be damn sure Pence is 100% clean on all this

Holy fock, by the looks of this, Trump might be impeached as soon as he takes office. And I am only through the 1st three pages. THanks for the link bro.

It also looks like it was written by a third grader. There is certainly detail, but some of the conclusions are ridiculously simplistic and phrased in ways that are completely unprofessional.

Have to really unlessTrump resigns. Can't impeach until he takes office.

Not sure there is a constitutional mechanism between election and the inauguration.

Again...prefaced by if any of this is true.

Section 3 of the 20th Amendment guarantees Pence the presidency.

Once the electoral college voted, the election was over.

Pence seemed like a GOP lacky. Doubt he knew much, if anything, tbh

Okay hold on a second, reading more about this in NY Times.

Apparently that memo is not BY the intelligence agencies but they came to have it and felt they needed to brief Obama, trump and Gang of Eight on it.

It's actually a memo from opposition research and has not yet been corroborated.

I imagine there must be something to it with these briefings and all this coming to light, but this does need to play out a little more

From CNN:

"Some of the memos were circulating as far back as last summer. What has changed since then is that US intelligence agencies have now checked out the former British intelligence operative and his vast network throughout Europe and find him and his sources to be credible enough to include some of the information in the presentations to the President and President-elect a few days ago."

Apparently this is what Comey had before election when he was sending out letters on Clinton. No wonder Reid lost his sh1t

It gives new meaning to the term "tilt".

I wonder how many of these hacks will remember when they were saying the POTUS was merely a figure head, a mouthpiece, with no actual power to do anything without congressional approval.
